BricK
BeaTZ
This is a port from my rom which can be found here
This is an unofficial Paranoid Rom
Disclaimer:
I am in no way responsible for this ROM bricking you device.
It is your responsibility to do a Nandroid backup.
Start with low volume and work your way up.
You have been warned.
******Updated Flashing Instructions****** *****Disclaimer***** These instructions have been tested and proven to work on multiple devices. Failure to follow these simple steps may lead to you becoming the proud owner of a brand new paperweight. That being said, neither I nor anyone associated with this ROM is responsible for what YOU do to YOUR DEVICE. Lets get to flashing shall we?
Download the latest BrickBeaTZ build HERE
Download the latest GAPPS HERE
Boot into Recovery and perform a Nandroid Backup
Perform a FULL WIPE (Factory Defaults - System - Cache - Dalvik)
Install/Flash the BrickBeaTZ ROM zip that you downloaded in Step 1
Install/Flash the latest GAPPS zip that you downloaded in Step 2
Reboot System
WE ARE NOT DONE! This is where the normal flashing procedures change. There are some init scripts that prevent the ROM from booting on first run. This leads us to our second set of steps:
YOUR DEVICE WILL HANG ON THE PARANOID ANDROID SCREEN!
HOLD THE POWER BUTTON DOWN and count from 10
The screen will turn off and reboot.
Now the device will boot up normally and you will be presented with the Welcome Screen.
After you enter in all of your information, Enter Settings - Performance and hit OK
Go to "Processor" and make sure the Governor is set at ONDEMAND, MIN FREQ is 192, MAX FREQ is 1.1/1.2 (either or), Check Set On Boot
Hit the Back button once again and go to "Memory Management" and make sure zRam is set at 10% and Check Purging of Assest and Kernel Samepage Merging

Oh, this is completely a different version.... You have no clue. Check out my original thread for more info. You'll hear music like you've never heard before.

Going to have to load this up and see if my music will sound different. Like the red!!!
Good job!

I decided to go AOSP theme for now until I find a theme that I'm deadset on. I highly suggest downloading the 1.2.0 version. Audio is quite different from 1.0.0. OTA is enabled so I can make it rain with updates.

Glad to see you ported it over!! Will definitely give this a whirl, I love paranoidandroid so this is really win/win !
Thanks :good: :good: :good:

Will do, thanx

This looks nice. I may have to give it a try. Every other time I've tried PA I've ended up dumping it after less than an hour because I could never get everything working the way I want.

1 question, though: how well does bluetooth work? Some JB ROMs (even recent ones) have issues. I connect my BT to my car, so it's important.

This is based off of CM10 device tree. I don't know much about the skyrocket because it's not my dd. But I can assure you this is almost bug free minus maybe some kinks due to cm10.

Depends on your issue. For me the issue was in-call audio not routing properly, which was fixed at least two weeks ago, if not longer. All I use it for is calls in my car, and it works perfectly for that, I also receive notifications on my car stereo that I received a message. If your use case is different, then I can't say if it works or not.

doesnt this suppose to have beats audio included? all i see is dsp manager. is it ok to flash awesomebeats over this and keetp the mods?

I highly suggest you to not flash any audio mods until you really hear the audio....the audio in this ROM is completely custom made by me. What you get from 1.2.0 is a tease of what I've accomplished on the HOXL.
BTW, AwesomeBeats doesn't really do anything. When it comes to audio, I can say I'm probably one of the best. Not to be cocky or anything but I've proven it.
For DSP Manager use these settings.

Slim ICS has been pulled mods please lock thread

I have managed to port the Slim ICS 3.6 i9000 version to the Infuse!!!
***Taken from original thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1488096***
Key features:
Fully built from AOSP sources with some cherry picks from CM and AOKP team,
Easy to customize features (thanks to AOKP team) via ASS (Advanced Slim Settings)
Common Base ROM - 60MB
Device Essentials - ~20MB
5 languages ( en, fr, de, it and es. No new languages will be added)
No GAPPS required, Gmail, Talk , Contacts and Calendar Sync already included, rest in removed addon zip file.
Zeam Launcher
Click to collapse
Other key features:
3.6 base and essential put into one CWM flashable zip making the flashing process that much simpler!
ONLY 80MB!!!!
What is working in this port?
-wifi
-music
-camera (8MP)
-ability to mount as mass storage device
-ASS...Advanced Slim Settings (as far as i know everything in that appears to be working except OTA update)
-???
What is not working?
-device settings in the setting app (those are setting specific to the galaxy s)
-NS tool in the settings app (to be honest dont even know what that is)
-anything that doesn't work in CM9
-???
This is my first port ever!!! so beware there may be bugs, but it seems really stable to me. Anything that doesnt work in entropy's CM9 will not work here because i used his CM9 to port this. You flash this at your own risk, allthough it is highly unlikely im not responsible for any damage caused to your phone, or your friends phone or anyones phone. however if you do encounter problems i will do my best to help you.
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
Coming from previous ICS ROM:
1) download the rom
2) boot into CWM Recovery
3) mount system (not neccessary according to others but i do it anyways)
4) wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvic cache
5) flash rom
6) reboot and enjoy
Coming from Gingerbread (double flash):
1) download rom
2) reboot to recovery
3) wipe data/factory rest, wipe cache, wipe dalvic cache
4) flash rom
5) reboot
6) will get stuck at samsung logo or something
7) simutaniously hold power button, volume down, volume up until your phone reboots and you see the samsung logo - as soon as you see the samsung logo let go of buttons (but not your phone lol)
8) mount system
9) re-flash rom with no wipes
10) reboot and enjoy
if you get a colorful hard to read recovery it is because you dont have gingerbread bootloaders, the rom should not be effected by this but if you want to fix this problem then you need to flash gingerbread bootloaders
DOWNLOAD
I've been asked to take this port down by the original dev
NSTools Fix
(will add this to the full rom too, however until then flash this)(go under setting/about phone look at build number if it does not say 1.1 then you need this fix)
just flash...no wipes necessary

NS Tools:
Manage your custom kernel with NSTools, you can easily manage tweaks without editing init script.
NSTools requires root for working properly. Currently its work on Nexus S with GLaDOS, Matr1x, franco, SG-kernel, Eugene, Trinity, Netarchy, Lucid, Air, Lynx, and others that include Ezekeel's patch, also works with some SGS kernel (Glitch v14).
Supported tweaks:
- BLD
- BLN
- BLX
- CPU Governor
- Custom Voltage
- Deepidle
- Liveoc
- Max/min scaling frequencies
- Touchwake
- CMLed
- IO Scheduler
- Fast charge toggle

This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone. I know you've seen tablet mode roms before, they change two lines in your build.prop file which you could easily edit yourself in seconds and maybe throw a keyboard in there to make it work better. It's a start, but this ain't enough. This thing has potential, but it is wasted the moment you try to stuff a full blown tablet into your poor phone. Yet we all know our high res phones can very well handle more than silly 1-column layouts. So the magic must be in between somewhere, a place that google must have overlooked and left blank. Yes, this rom strives to drop your device into tablet mode, but it won't stop there, it will reshape and redefine ics to make it all a usefull addition and not just a cute novelty. We're calling it: Hybrid mode, best of both worlds.

v1.6
Built from source - 10/7/2012 - 00:27:58
OTA app changed (This trashes OTA update, please download manually this version). More responsive methods
Merged latest CM changes, including a lot of fixes and improvements for device tree
Improvements on frameworks, fixed for once and finally all DPI related crashes
SystemUI mode can be configured now
Cleanup and speedup of hybrid code via native libs (I'd say 25%)
A lot more of changes, you can check them here: https://github.com/ParanoidAndroid
v1.5
Built from source - 25/6/2012 - 11:3:12
Removed AROMA installer, now using CM kernel, you can install any AOSP kernel
Improvements on OTA app, scheduled checkups
Improvements on Backup app, now it automatically launches on startup after you install a newer (or older) version
Hybrid speedup, less lag, considerably faster list scrolling when pad/pal is in action
Keyboard scaling, an androids first
PAD/PAL bugfixes for apps that still crop images in lower dpis
Settings revamp, speed preferences to switch between modes without having to set up anything, less clutter
Trebuchet extras: 3x4 widgets, speed dial menu button, ... and some weird rocket button which im sure will be very useful to most of you
Pad.prop revamp, new preferences that should pretty much nail it. Im sorry but this trashes your old settings again, do not attempt to restore them unless you do it in a text editor

Want to flash another Kernel, such as KT? Install/flash the attached zip in same session as your Kernel Flash
I interoperated fixes for the power button issue, not the revert that is currently being used by Kernel devs. The fixes I interoperated are not "officially" merged into CM, thats why Kernel devs dont have what it needs to light the display of Slim. I guess this is my bad for trying to be ahead of the game
Flashing the attached file in the same recovery session as your kernel flash will "light the display". This is tested with KT, not tested with LK...
look above for fixes ^

Based off AOSP with pulls from CM/AOKP. Post 2 has link for NFC patch so yeah. Make a back up, U no like, U restore. I have no echo, havent checked volume on calls. Im a set it and leave it user, also never use auto brightness so that I havent checked either. A general rule of thumb in early AOSP development, if its broke on one then it broke on them all. There are a $hit load of options in ASS (Advanced Slim Settings) and developer options. OP will be updated in due time, wanted to get this out for everyone to use

Somewhat, it has files/apps that are used across all supported devices. If you were to flash d2vzw and gapps instead of common you would be in a bootloop from Hell. You can flash another gapps set after common (recommend after you boot once), like inverted or something. but common is a must...
I am really excited about trying this ROM out. Are these steps correct?
1. Factory reset. Wipe cache. Wipe dalvik.
2. Flash d2vzw.zip
3. Flash common.
4. Flash Google now.
5. Flash charge ani and extras.
Boot up
Recovery again. Flash inverted gapps.
Reboot.
Sound right? Thanks

 I seen the nexus 7 in your signature, lol. Thanks, there are tons of new options compared to ICS Slim ROM. krarvind is the master mind behind Slim ROMs. I am just maintaining this device (d2vzw) as he has quite a few devices he supports.
Possible GPS Fix, Stay tuned
Smoothest ROM yet! I'm running K747 oc 1998 max 144 min ondemand, and everything seems to be functional. SMS GPS MMS phone calls no echo, all working for me. Thanks for this.

For many small is normal, if you were to run it as is for a few days you would never go back to the BIG icons. But to answer your question, yes. Go into settings and select Developer Options (at bottom) then select LCD Density, click 320 and reboot

Pretty smooth ROM man, and good job. I had an su issue at first and it wouldn't install anything from the market so I downloaded a supersu.zip and flashed that and when it booted up it was installing from the market. My shifts isn't activated so that could be some of my market issues because this isn't the first time I've had them. I also noticed that before I resolved the su issue that performance settings was having issues scaling the processor and it was causing some battery drain that now seems like it's gone.
So since I ran into these issues that were easily fixed I figured I would post since the thread is still fresh, and anyone else can fix it if they have the same issues

Awesome! I've been running this since you posted it. very impressed, super smooth. I do wish bluetooth worked, but other than that it runs great. Good work my man. Also, great ROM to port, running this on my brother's OG right now too haha
Hey wanted to say again, nice port . Good work. Runs Smooth, and Quick. Posted below what I found. Other than items I posted everything seems to be running well.
4G Reboots like ( as posted in OP )
KB lights not working ( at least on mine )
Camcorder not working
BT not working ( as posted in OP )
Is there anyway to make a flashable zip of the tweaks? I'd like to try this on twisteds rom.

Forgot to note: I did have to flash supersu.zip to get root permissions in this rom

For the camcorder workaround use Videocam Illusion on the Play Store (not confirmed yet but usually works)

I'm working on using that as a base so we'll have Bluetooth but it's not playing nice right now (with any ROM that I'm playing with) BigSplit said how to fix it on Mega's thread.... But it may be above my scope of ability right now.

flash in recovery. By default, the ROM was not giving me root permissions until i flashed this. The superuser binary kept refusing to install, and if I tried to use an app requiring root, it would fail to get permission.
About the camcorder, would switching out the APK from twisted not get it working? or is there some other stuff that needs to be done?

I hope you do. I used smurfed out tweaks ages ago on my shift but after version 6(I might be wrong) it wouldn't work. But I was to lazy to investigate my build.prop.

If I wasn't on vacation and had access to my net book I would try this(for camcorder), try replacing the camera lib files from twisted and the camera app and see if it works.

All credits to this rom's creator(s) and original sources. Non-kexec roms need you to be on ICS kernel to work, so JB leak rom users beware!
This rom doesn't have the 1% battery hack, but it's really not hard to work with.
This spot is reserved!
Slim, fast, and smooth..noticed it's missing the 1 percent battery mode though..would love to have it too
Oopz missed that in the op

I keep switching ROM. I am in love with this ROM, it is fast, smooth, and filled with enough features to get me by. Only problems that I am having is that there is no 1% battery mod, which isn't the end of the world. Also i was wondering how do I get the minimal amount of UI tearing?

Yeah, the lack of 1% battery is annoying because there are several of my ports that have it and it's hard to add without breaking something. -_-
As for minimal ui tear, if you haven't already done this for any rom you can go to Developer Options, scroll down to where you see Transition and Window scale. Set those two to .5 then lastly, you tick the 'Force 4x MSAA' option and that should do it. Good luck and enjoy all the new ports!:good:

Man, I just love the fact that you always respond super quickly. Thanks! that seemed to help! And ya it kind of sucks that if you mess with something that might cause another problem, but it isn't the end of the world, battery life though seems awesome! Glad i switched.
Boot looping
First of all, Thanks for this wonderful rom :good: :victory:
Smooth and battery saver
Now some issues I faced (Installed on system 4)
1. No Battery 1% mod, but thats not a big problem, you can install battery widget by Pedro Maicas from play store for correct battery status.
2. Wifi tether has some issue, its not turning on. So I installed wifi fix and it boot loops. I guess that fix was for CM 11 only.
thats all for now. I'll let you know more once I reinstall it tomorrow

Whoa, I thought that would only work with kexec only roms, thanks a ton for letting me and everyone know it does!
You'll have to stick with that app as in-call volume adjustment is a problem in most of our roms, hence that's why that app was made.
FYI, I have NO idea how it works as I'm not a developer and only work with already-built roms.
