I haven't been able to find any video tutorials on unlocking and flashing a ROM(s) on the Infinity. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Here you go, pretty simple, just like you install an app:

Thanks! Do you know if that specific tutorial will get along with the newest OTA/firmware?

PLEASE check the development section... You've been warned. haha
There are plenty of threads on how to do this, if you're having trouble searching for them, PM me, and I'd be glad to help.

Download the battery saver and click on root tool I guess (only because I don't remember what it was called exactly)
After finding that program it took just a couple minutes for me

If all you want is try out new ROMs, no need to root. Follow the instructions for NVFlash (search the Dev thread).

Did you remember to Wipe before installing CM7? Wait, how'd you install the ROM? Did you flash ClockWorkMod using NVFlash or Rom Manager? Please tell me you didn't use Rom Manager.

You need to use nvflash to install clock work, then flash stuff.

hey i got it to work ....but now i have no service on my phone???
Try searching. All your questions have been answered many times. With a simple search you could have had all your answers instead of waiting. BTW, many people don't reply to threads like this as they are tired of people asking questions that can be answered by searching first.
ilovebeerdanny: as a fellow newcomer I can share my experience which is that this community is super cool and filled with people who will help you out but no-one here is going to hold your hand. You're much more likely to get help if people see you've done your homework first.
When reading answers to your question pay attention to who's giving them. There's a reason members like jboxer and FatalityBoyZahy have high Thanks meters.
Welcome to the forum and have fun.
Thanks dude I figured it out

I remember a few months back whitehakx made a guide for porting vibrant (or was it i9000?) roms to our device. I believe it's somewhere on these forums.
My question is, is it possible? If so, I might venture into the developing world. There are a couple of nice looking roms available for those phones that would make and excellent addition to ours.. I just need someone to tell me it's possible and I'll probably start developing. I have plenty of free time since I finished my software engineering studies but have no jobs yet.

Is it me or does that seem like some really short directions for such a complicated procedure?
Indeed! And you notice there aren't any Vibrant ROM's ported either.
At the last few posts someone does try to do it but is stuck on a step anyway one of us can help him?

Yeah might as well post about it here if you try it, but don't expect anyone to really hold your hand while you do it.

Awesome man, thanks.. will check it out!
Installed and nada, zip, zilch. Then again, I'm not running an ICS ROM right now which I believe is a requirement. Will try again after I find a stable ROM.

it says nothing on the post about needing ICS for this to work, maybe double check your permissions using the ES file explorer. did you read the ENTIRE thread? also how did you try to get it to work? did you try to launch the widget? i would try to install it myself but i'm at work for another 3 hours and have a business meeting afterwords. re-read the thread maybe something was missed

Well when it's installing it clearly states Google Now for ICS, altho the thread itself doesn't necessarily mention it... followed all the instructions to the T, no Google Now in my apps, and certainly no widget to add either.
This thread appears to confirm requirement of ICS as well: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...528-google-now-thunderbolt-flashable-zip.html

What he said. It's just not there, sorry. T'Bolt rooted, running latest Eternity ROM which is Gingerbread, Sense 3.5.

i agree, PERI it the easiest way to root your tablet.
For the other tools, it will depend on the version of your tablet...
