Anyone know what the price is going to be without contract?
I contacted an AT&T retail store and they didn't really know, but had read that Samsung posted $350 dollars on facebook. That seems low to me.
I haven't seen any pricing for non-commitment anywhere. Thanks!

Hopefully this is the actual price since a few people are able to confirm it with a few AT&T reps.
OMG if this is the price for the phone I am definitely getting this phone off contract and using my upgrade for another phone aka iPhone 4 to sell for a profit!!!!!!!!!!

I had my iPhone 4 since it came out (16 gb) and used it the whole time.
I just put it on craigslist and sold it for 600 in less than a day.
Now, I have money for the captivate!!!

Yes! The price is $350 without contract! That's very nice, I'll check tomorrow my local AT&T store to see if they have any in stock already as some people already bought it.
I'd love to go get one tomorrow, but I go to an authorized retailer and there is one person in particular that I deal with. She's always treated me well, and they are a lot nicer than AT&T retail stores. She is out of town until monday I guess I'll be waiting for my phone 'til then.
The one thing I know nothing about is how to load custom roms, as this is my first open source phone! (first had symbian, then iOS) I am excited to see what else is out there.
If its only $350. I'll be buying this Phone off Contract ASAP.

I just returned from AT&T here they let me handle the phone. He showed me the price of the off contract phone as $300.00. He was shocked, but it was right there in living color. They will sell me one this Saturday morning. I will be there.

If this pricing is the same here in Arizona Ill be posting my HD2 for sale, use that money to buy a Captivate, and use my phone upgrade for an Iphone4, turn around and sell that beast as well.. @willthebill - I am surprised that the Captivate is going to be 350 when the one for t-mobile is 500 as well! I am quite excited about it!

I just read something about swappa.com, I think that may be an easier and cheaper way to go.
I put mine on Craigslist for $300 and got 100s of replies, I am sure you will get what you want.

New ones in the box seem to go for around 300 on ebay still.
So i'll sell mine for $250 shipped. $475 for the pair. They are att&t. But also one of the easiest phones ever to unlock. I'm glad to do it for anyone that wants it done before shipping. At the moment they've never been out the box.

Not sure how to respond. Because your absolutely correct. No one has any reason to trust me what so ever. And theres no way to change that. But my options are this or ebay. They have lost tons of value as it is because of the length of time I've had them. I'm sure I could get 500 on ebay, but by the time I pay their fee and paypal s fee for the money transfer and the shipping cost I might have 425 left. If you've sold on ebay then u know. And we all know what they cost so the thought of selling a brand new galaxy s for $212.50 seemed crazy. Wasn't sure what to do. I dont need the money but they'll be worth nothing if I continue to hold on to them. Its ok if u dont trust me.

Ha. I didn't know. I'm sorry I came off wrong. I was just trying to get rid of a couple extra phones. I know nothing about "scamming". Can we just delete this post? Its went completely in the wrong direction. Maybe ebay was my best option. Irony was I never thought about selling them in the forum until I noticed the"marketplace"

Just bought a second one for my wife. I'll keep these until the Galaxy Note has been out for a month or two. Loving that 5.3 inch SAMOLED. No reason to go to the SGS2 that I can see. It is awesome, but not that much better than the Captivate.

Sure there is. I havnt sold in a couple years(another reason why I shy away, so much has changed) but i remember paying an extra .25 just to have a pic posted during search. Extra charges if you use alotta pictures. And the charge just to post, and the extra if you sell your item. Things of that sort. My accounts havnt been activated in a while. I went back to paypal the other day just to update that accout. New bank and such. Because i bought a few accesories for the captivate I use now. If the person thats interested perhaps lives in southern VA or northern NC maybe we could meet. I live on the line midway (Halifax County, VA) Or if there is someone you really trust on the forum I could send the item to the first. And when they get it they can let you know. Then I could recieve my payment. Of course it would have to be someone of high standing. I would hate to get ripped off myself. Just know I'm not here to scam anyone. I could take pics of the items if it helps. At least you'd know I actually have them. Beside a printout of this post so you know i didnt just copy a picture from the web. I'm trying here guys. I'm an honest person. I dont care if I sell them now. I guess now I'm just trying to build a little trust.

He will be losing more than a little bit. After eBay, PayPal fees and shipping he will be losing about $120. Unless of course he is past his return widow then he has no choice but to sell it.
there is no restocking fee on an unopened item.......

ok so after reading the receipt... i had 30 days... june 6th was that date... so now i either stick with it or sell it. i was looking forward to a GS3. but maybe this phone will do.
Coming from a evo I must say the build quality on the hox has improved greatly.
The camera is fantastic, even my 7 year old can take some impressive shots.
Rooting/unlocking boot loader is a walk in the park with the AIO tools, Id say if your looking to upgrade anyways keep the hox and rub that phone in your nephews face every chance you get.
i like that. just every day have it sit there and as he does my yard work just use it for like pandora for my out door system... lol put very good use to it. thats funny

Somewhat. You both have to post your phones for sale and "buy" each others phone for the same price. That way no one looses or gains anything.
But in your case, no one is going to trade you for that without cash from your end, so the other person has to put their price higher than yours so you give them money with the trade.

Well they don't officially support it so that's the way to do it if you want to use swappa. CTO is a great option for just trading.

If you live in a really safe city, it's usually okay, but I try to avoid CL unless they're willing to let me take a picture of their license. Most aren't (understandably), so I stick to using paypal.

its on craigs list now and there are not many nexus 5 for sale at all really. I had 1 guy who wanted to trade and he wanted and s4 but needed for att and he tells me at the last minute had all my hopes up.
