Hi,
After you format all partitions (except sd card),you must install the new ROM + gapps.
If you are s-on,you may need to enable "Smartflash" in 4EXT and then, install the ROM immediately.

My understanding is that "e:\unknown volume /sd-ext" is if you have an APS2SD partition. Mine does the same thing when trying to delete the Dalvik cache. The only rom I've tried to flash is BAMF or back to the original ROM.
I assume if your running a GB rom you've already installed a GB radio from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1115714
This could be part of your lock ups or a corrupted file, I would double check the MD5. Also make sure to wipe each 3 times before installing a new rom. I always wipe the each after install of a new rom.
As far as i know its a benign error, nothing to worry about. Just has to do with apps 2 sd

Device rebooting and entering recovery!(SOLVED)

HI guys!I just installed [ROM][22 OCT 11] RCMix3d Runnymede S v3.1 [Runnymede XL sense 3.5 Android 2.3.5][OC Kernel 2GHz] on my desire s.I did a full wipe,i have a ext3 partition. After rebooting everything went fine,no problems. After i configured my google account and installed some apps,i rebooted the phone...........and now remains on HTC boot screen and after a few seconds it reboots and enters recovery mode........Is my desire BRICKED?I tried installing another ROM with no results....It always reboots and enters recovery mode.
P.S. I forgot to mention that the device is rooted,s off by revolutionary. Also i flashed a new radio.
format all partitions to ext4 and flash again

[Q] stuck on beats audio screen after arhd ics rom flash

Hi all
I just installed the new ARHD ICS rom from mike1986
All worked fine untill I reinstalled the battery logo (zip file name UOT-3.5-blue)
I wiped battery cache and dalvik cache, installed from sd card and now the phone wont go past the beats audio screen after powering on
Any ideas?
Have I bricked my phone?
Are you 100% sure you installed the correct firmware? I seem to recall that happening with my first ICS rom that I put on. If you used the latest ARHD you need the latest firmware, applicable to your phone if you did not SuperCID.
Double check the battery mod is compatible with the rom - this happened to me once.
To recover, just restore your last backup from recovery.

No bricked implies no power, just a plain paperweight (looks like it can be unbricked). But that's another thread.
Your issue is to just get the ARHD rom on your sd card if you don't have it on already and just reflash the rom without wiping data. But I prefer to wipe the cache and dalvik cache.
OR you can take out your battery, reinsert, and press power and volume down at the same time to access your recovery. Then restore your nandroid back up. You DID do a backup right?
Yes the firmware was correct
The battery logo mod may have not been compatile
Im going to restore to my last backup and try it again
Ok I installed the last backup, went back into reboot and now the phone is just going round in circles
It comes up with the HTC quietly brilliant logo and just powers off and the repeats that move continuously
The reason I reinstalled the battery logo mod was because it was compatible with ARHD 4.1.13 which I had on the phone before. I thought it would be ok with this new version too
That battery mod is not compatible with ARHD 6.5.1. You can see all compatible mods listed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14191947&postcount=2
Is your backup made from ICS or GB? I think You need an older firmware for GB backup.

[Q] sensation white screen with green logo

Hi guys,
yesterday I have tried to flash androi revolution 6.8.0 on my sensation, but when i have reeboted it have appeared the white screen... my previous rom was the android revolution 6.7.2 for this reason when i flashed the new ARHD I did it whithout superwipe... so what should i do? I can only enter in hboot and recovery i' am disperead!!
thank you for your help!
what recovery do you have? is your device s-on or s-off? If you are s-on you need to flash boot.img separately or enable smart flash in 4ext recovery if you have that installed on your device.

Okay, first off calm down becaue you haven't screwed your phone up.
If you can get to recovery, odds are the phone works perfectly fine.
But you did bork up the ROM somehow. All my following advice assumes you are S-OFF. Don't do anything if that's not correct.
Here are your options....
First your cache might be loused up. Go to 4EXT and wipe cache and dalvik and reboot. See if that helps. I don't think this will fix your problem but it's simple and quick to try so why not give it a shot?
Next, if you made a full nandroid backup of ARHD 6.7.2 then you should be able to restore it from 4EXT Recovery. Just go to the restore section and tell it to restore 6.7.2 and it should flash it and boot right up.
If you didn't make a nandroid, you've learned a valuable lesson on why you ALWAYS make a nandroid before flashing a new ROM. ALWAYS!!! So this experience is still a positive for you because you've learned something.
Unfortuantely that means you have an unbootable screwed up ROM installed now that contains all of your user data. And you're going to have to wipe that clean to start this over. So go to 4EXT and do a full wipe, or use Superwipe, then install ARHD 6.8 from scratch. It should boot right up. If it doesn't, download a new copy of 6.8 and put it on teh SD card and try again. It could just be a bad download.
You might even try installing 6.8 again overtop of whatever clustered up mess you've got on there now to see if it resets everything without losing user data. I don't think that will work, but it won't make it worse.

Remove smartflash because you are S-OFF so you don't need it

Are you running the 3.33 firmware? If not then you need to flash it - goto Kohr-Ah's universal firmware thread in the dev section for it.
If no then its probably just a bad flash. Redownload the ROM then check MD5, if they match then flash, if not then try downloading again.
If MD5 is correct but it still doesnt work reflash the ROM but do a full wipe (wipe everything except sd card from the 4EXT wipe menu).
If that still doesn't work then just try a different ROM.

Please report back to tell if it worked or not. If it does work this thread will be helpful to someone who finds it on a Google search 3 months from now.
If you don't tell what the outcome was, it will be useless to someone who finds it on a search.
Hope it all works out! Good luck!
First of all... Thank you everybody!
I have tried all solution but nothing seemed to work.... finally I have tried to flash the 4EXT from fastboot and , after reflasing ROM, i have seen my sensation switcing on without problem!
PROBLEM SOLVED!

Stuck in boot loop after not using for about a year.

Phone is stuck in a bootloop on the htc screen. Before it was put away android revolution hd was installed.
I can still boot into 4ext recovery but when i try to reinstall android revolution it gets stuck formatting... or trying to wipe any data.
the only thing different is that I lost the original sd card that was in it.

if the device in on S-ON then use the smartflash option first from 4ext
then flash the rom
note: enable the smartflash exactly before flashing the rom

For some reason it will NOT format... installing viper it just hangs up at 1% of formatting. I tried it with smartflash enabled and the same thing... anything it attempts to format anything it just keeps going, and never actually formats.

I tried that, and a few other roms now. Viper started to install if I did not format, but then hung up at 7% installing every time i tried. With other roms it is the same situation. When formatting it just stays formatting. At this point I think something may be wrong with the phone itself.
