Hi all,
I have an Emgeton 7 inch tablet for which I'm trying out some different ICS ROMs on. The best ROM I have found so far has one issue:
The screen orientation is 90 degrees out. The accelerometer actually works but it is set to 90 degrees "ahead"
How and where is the default settings for the accelerometer set and is it possible to change it without a re-compile?
Would I be able to use anything from the stock ICS firmware to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys
I have this weird problem with the LCD backlight since I upgraded to the new AT&T stock ROM (5.11.502.2 WWE)
Usually the backlight is supposed to dim down after 30sec and then turn off after the specified time set in (start/settings/system/power/advanced). Now suddenly this stopped working correctly. The screen just turns off completely after 30sec, no matter what I change the control panel settings to.
I found the registry key (HKCU/ControlPanel/Power/Display) which is set to 30 seconds so yeah, I can increase that to make the screen turn off later, but I want the dimming back!
Where is it defined *WHAT* is supposed to happen after these 30 seconds?
No one?
Am I the only one here with a stock rom? LOL
My Fuze light sensor doesn't seem to be working correctly either. It's not the same problem, though. And I'm not really sure if mine stopped working right after the new ROM or after I installed Diamond Tweak and Advanced Config.
There used to be a noticeable change in the backlighting when moving between different ambient lighting conditions but now I don't notice anything. If I cup my hand over the light sensor, the backlight stays the same whereas before it would dim a little and then brighten up again after removing my hand.
Can anyone tell me what the default registry settings for it are so I can see if either DT or AC did something?
Thanks.
Is it possible to make the screen rotation happen any faster? Using an accelerometer app to view the sensors values, it looks like the values for a rotated screen are produced pretty quickly after a screen rotation takes place. Could the process responsible for detecting this change increase the sample rate of the accelerometer values, resulting in a faster response? Or is the pause due to error prevention, to help eliminate false rotations?
I would like to bring this back to the top, as it is a valid concern for me, as well. There is a full 1.5-second delay for switching orientation. Far too slow.
Thank you,
Andy
Hi,
I just asked this same question in another thread yesterday so I would also like to know. I'm using a Huawei u8100 running android 2.1.
Thanks!

I think this is related to how the tablet thinks its default orientation is. The Tab 2 7.0's default orientation should be portrait (according to the Samsung logo), but the OS thinks the default orientation is landscape, which is correct for the 10.1's, but not for the 7.0's.
I have had this problem ever since I got my Nexus 5, but I went rooted short time ago and want to solve it once and for all ... if possible. The problem is that even when in the evening the brightness it at its minimum, the screen is still too bright for my taste. I have been using Screen Filter for a while and it does the job, I have been wondering if I could change the value of some parameter in some system file that would allow me to dim the screen even more. Any ideas if this is possible and, if yes, can you help me find that file?
hello everyone,
I've a question I'd like to ask regarding android, as I'm not that experience with coding, so I was hoping someone could help me with this.
to make a long story short: I've an android stick that I want to use for a Magic Mirror, but those sticks do not have a gyroscope sensor (for obvious reasons) so the screen is always set to horizontal mode. you can change the screen orientation through basic android configurations or apps, but all that does is setting the width of the screen to 50% and the height to 200%, where I really need the screen to actually rotate 90 degrees (as for the mirror I need to use the screen of the stick vertically)
my question now is if it's possible to perhaps edit the android code, through rooting or something alike, where I can control the screen properties, so I'd be able to actually rotate the screen 90 degrees.
