Asus needs video of latest firmware issues- PLEASE HELP! - Asus Transformer TF700

This is a call to all xda tf700 users to post video of issues they have seen since JB. I have been working with several employees from Asus on the crashing, black line, and other issues related to the firmware update to Jb and .18 Please help document these issues in this thread so we can make sure Asus resolves all of these issues in their next firmware.
Rules:
Please only post if you have a video or link to any issue since the update.
Please only post if you are running stock .18 firmware, no custom recovery or roms, root okay.
Please only post if you have done a factory reset since the update, not just cold booted to try to resolve the issues.

EDIT: Removed my negative comments - Just frustration, nothing personal.

Here's a video of the random black line appearing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y6m7ZLetMo&feature=player_detailpage#t=908s
That lady had to send her tab back for the lines to be fixed.

Yeah, that is not quite what I was looking for, but I really appreciate the post. It is like some others have said- black line or lines that flash for a brief second. This post is not specific to that issue though, if anyone has video proof of any issue that occurs after the update, please post links.

In jb asus bumped display from 18 to 24bpp, you can see the in kernel source code. That is probably the cause of it.
In .18 asus did not change anything in panel code so i'm not surprised black line is still there.
I speculate that timings for panel communication are to aggressive causing data errors that produce the black line and my problems that i will describe below. When thing go more wrong connection with panel hangs causing tablet to hang.
I have a panasonic panel for the record.
I checked it because it seams to me that on my tablet odd rows are not always displayed.
Or to put it another way it looks like vertical black lines that you can see for a split second but then are gone.
They are easier to see if you move the tablet back and forth at about 25cm from eyes.
You need to have good eyes as from 5 ppl i'm the only that sees them. Also there is another old thread that describe this vertical line pattern.
I think is almost impossible to catch my vertical lines or the black line on camera because they last only a split second and are so thin that video compression will remove them.
If assus don't find a fix when i'll have some time i will unlock my tablet and try to tweak the kernel.

Knock it off please
Any more back and forth bickering and I close the thread. This goes for "all" parties.
If you don't have anything useful to post, then don't post it.

Nope, unfortunately that would be an issue with the camera module itself- I have auto focus, and the video is clear. You will have to RMA for that issue, many others have reported issues with the camera that required replacement to fix it.

It's near impossible to capture the screen flickers using my gnex camera I've found,I have a video where the screen most definitely flickered in front of my eyes but I just can't spot it in the video. But then again, could be the app (repligo pdf reader) that I'm using, screen flickers are very common using this app

Same issue that many are having... wish there was a better way to capture it.. anyone have an hdmi capture device? I have verified that you get that behavior on an attached monitor also.

Is Asus trying to say that they haven't seen the "black line" issue themselves? If they've used the JB ROM (which I'm sure they have), they can see this issue all by themselves - I don't think they need a video of it...

No that is not what they are saying. It's more for the exposure it gives the issues to the corporate headquarters... allows Asus USA to pressure them for faster updates.

I had it 3 times ant it was at least twice during change which app to display. It seems to be a graphic tegra crash. I don't know if someone got that issue. About video :no video as tab'et is crashed

Interesting... Sure sounds like a good old "lets keep the users busy doing worthless things until we can actually get the issue fixed" ploy! I don't think for one second that Asus Corporate HQ is going to do anything faster because users are providing videos of something that that they damn well know is an issue... Again, this is just a typical customer support "delaying" tactic and won't do a damn thing to help get these issues fixed.
Nonetheless, good luck...

I've noticed a momentary flash of black lines every now and then and it doesn't matter which app I'm using. It doesn't happen too often but it is noticeable. I'm on stock unrooted.

It happened to Lisa from MobileTechReview in this comparison video and she talks about it. It's at 15:07.

A little comical how Lisa just sort of brushed over the line thing right after saying they hadn't seen any quality control issues...

Hrm, doesn't seem to be the case for me. I'm able to open all media types from file browser on 3.2
Same for me, update seems ok so far, and it's nice to finally have battery usage.

Take your transformer out of the dock, rotate 90 degrees, then back. Everything should work now.
Seem to be the problem with "default apps": http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1191106

I understand it may frighten users and I changed topic. However, it is a real serious bug!
Somebody in a thread below said after a reboot with it docked the problem comes back and you have to undock it again. What's odd though is I wonder why this only affects some peeps? I have mine in the dock always and have had it in there through the whole update and after and have NOT had this issue and even have done a couple reboots since. And I have an old ass B30 or something dock and tablet.

But it is only a bug for certain configurations. Others seem to not have any issue. I watched 2 movies after installing the update. It could be specific to the type of files you watch or how you encoded them.

No idea why it hits some. I had my dock throughout update connected and even hard reset it after. I just sent message to Asus support and also tweeted them.
The bug comes back each time i start my TF. So i have to rotate it everytime in order to have it work. Annoying. Asus, come on. You gotta be kidding.
I have tried a few things including uninstalling my RockPlayer app to see if this fixed it but no luck... The issue comes back after each restart. I hope there is something we are missing. It only happens for a few of us so it must be the individual configurations... I can set the default to my preferred player for my videos but it still affects other apps/programs that need the "complete action using" dialog box...
*EDIT*
This is wierd, I went back to reinstall my Rockplayer from the Market and it gave me a agreement message like it is the first time I have used it... Now Movies show up in my Market tabs next to Apps/Books. I could swear it wasn't there yesterday after the update??? Anyone else?

No problem like that on ICS. Hm, there are some pretty annoying bugs in this JB version, I'm starting to be happy without the upgrade . I hope Asus sends a patch version quickly.

I get the same, but at least the update fixed something for me. My TV doesn't have a controllable overscan feature and I was getting my screen cropped, now it shows perfectly no crops at all so yeah I take this over the notifications getting cropped any day.
Bah sang victory too early, now it seems its not transferring sound, it used to work before update, I'll have to look into this....
---------- Post added at 09:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:08 PM ----------
Anyone else having problems with HDMI not transferring audio? It used to work on ICS. I tried playing with the cable a bit, but nothing changed. Also tried unplugging and plugging several times, plugging with tablet on mute (read on prime forums) then turning volume up. Nothing works so far. My best guess is that there is something wrong with HDMI coding and my TVs brand. Gonna try on another TV later and report back
You could try with a different player first (like MX Player or BSPlayer), seems like a software issue (I assume that with ICS it worked for you, and that TV).

Yeah it worked on ICS, I tried using Stock google music player no sound, youtube no sound and tried playing a game no sound. There are some ppl having the same problem over this forum:
http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/asus-tf300-forum/44971-problems-jellybean-update.html
I'm trying it on a VIORE TV, going to try it on a SONY TV after my family stops using it.
Was thinking of doing a factory reset, but the ppl in that link I posted tried to no avail.
Thanks for the info, now I will surely stay on ICS until Asus pushes some fixes.
Trimis de pe ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T
Okay tried on the Sony TV and it worked with sound, although it's cropping the image as before (overscanning). So it seems there's an incompatibility with my VIORE TV. Weird wild stuff ppl.
EDIT:
Sent an e-mail to a couple of ASUS representative, hopefully they will answer shortly.
I never had this issue with ICS.. i have tryed changing the output type (crop ect) still cut the bottom of my notification bar, but not my recent apps popup..
also tryed on other TVs with no look.. maybe its an asus bug fix job??

Did the previous transformer models have the low volume issue?

Hi,
Only had my infinity for a week so still learning my way around it.
So far I'm really pleased with it. All except the very low volume issue. I installed the VOLUME+ app which has helped a lot.
Is this a hardware issue or is the forthcoming Jelly Bean likely to fix it ?

I can only confirm that the tf201 had (more or less) the same volume, which indeed is quite low.
I'd recommend installing (and therefore buying) Volume+ from the Play Store for .99
It boosts your volume and actually keeps it quite clean as well!!
Besides that: it's merely my humble opinion those two volumes match and I am not entirely sure.
However, you will notice the effect of Volume+
(On a side note: I don't know why so little people answer these kind of questions They're easy to answer, take very little of your time and can help another person a lot.
I hope I did just that by replying! )
I have had volume issues with the TF101 as well... However, while I did have low-volume issues with my original TF700 (which had an un-related hardware problem and completely died), the replacement TF700 volume is actually plenty loud - so it seems to vary, even among the same model.... Can't really explain why though...

Thanks for responding. As mentioned I had installed Volume+, although the free version, which has mad a considerable difference. I hope it's a software issue that'll be fixed without having to use a 3rd party app to fix it. Not that that's a problem, I'd just rather have it right to start with.

It seems as jtrosky posted, some suffer with low volume and some don't. It's seems from my searching that it's quite common. Mine was extremely quiet to the point that even on my own in a quiet room I could hardly hear it at arms length.

Image Burn on Screen

Hi.
I have an image burn onto the screen. How do I get rid of it? Will it go away eventually? How do I prevent it from happening again?
Device is Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 p3113
Lcd should not burn in.... does it look like clouds? I once froze an lcd screen by leaving it in sub zero temps....it was permanent damage but looked like a soft cloud behind the image.
Sent from my KFTT using xda app-developers app
I have seen LCDs whit image burn effect even dough I tought only plasma screens are affected whit image retention, if its badly burned I dont think youll be able to get rid of it all. On plasmas you could use specal moving images for washing burn in, you could google that and try.
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda app-developers app
It's burned in. The address bar with the url is visible. I see it when I change the pages and on the lock screen. It's light but visible still. I need to get rid of it because it's an embarrassing url for people to see.
So you can see this when the device is off?? If somehow you have a stuck pixel problem sometimes s a forceful push will bring them back to life. Not that I recommend that... googling lcd burn in This is a phenomenon I am not familiar with and still amazed is possible.
Edit: google says it happens some sort of dead pixel phenomenon
Apple suggests an all white screen for hours on end with backlight low..
Another person suggested a very graphic intensive screensaver over night.
Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda app-developers app
No, you can't see it when the device is off. You can see it only when the device is on. I think it's starting to fade a little. I could see it still but not as strong as it was before. Hopefully it'll be gone soon.
Update: The burned image is gone.
Next time don't watch the same porn video for hours and you won't have the URL burned in..

HI all,
Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I thought this is an appropriate thread for the problem I am seeing. I am attaching a picture of my screen.
Do you think this is a hardware problem / screen burn? or is it something that can be solved by reinstalling the firmware?
Your help is much appreciated
