[Q] Google voice showing wrong number on incoming texts - General Questions and Answers

Whenever I reinstall android (in this case, JB), google voice forwards my text messages with the google voice #'s, not the sender's #.
For example, I get texts from:
+1 972-676-9974 - <Sender's Name> - <Sender's message>
+1 972-676-8612 - <Sender's Name> - <Sender's message>
I play around with google voice settings (website), and a few days later it just starts working. And it will break again once I reinstall android os. (Same thing had happened on stock ICS, stock JB, AOKP ICS, AOKP JB).
Anyone has any idea why this is happening, and how to fix the issue?
For reference, this is my current setup:
Galaxy Nexus GSM on tmobile
AOKP JB 4.1.2
Google Voice forwarding text messages to my phone
Google Voice app set to Receive text messages via the messaging app
GV Integration app to send text messages via the messaging app (works correctly)

Looks like it's working from some people, not from others.

Urgent help with Google Voice needed please

Hello, coming from the EVO, and now the awesome Nexus-S 4G, I am used to the stock Visual Voicemail that Sprint provides on the EVO's, and with the Nexus I just setup Google Voice. Some issues and questions please.
- My texts are going to the Voice app, not GO SMS anymore ? I only want texts using the GO app, not Google Voice.
- It seems I did use Google Voice like a year ago, and I have a boatload of message popping up from last year, how do I delete all these old voice mail messages ?
- Is there a way for the little Voice app icon, to display a # next to it of unread messages ? Like if I miss a text message it will show a little number 1 at the top corner of the app icon of how many missed texts I have, can the voice icon show that too ?
UPDATE;
I logged into my Google account on my computer, found the settings options, but some things still seem strange ?
My text messages are still going to Google Voice, and not even showing up in my GO SMS text app at all, or even the stock Android messaging, they are only going to Google voice ? I did log into my gmail account on my computer and disabled texts, but it didn't seem to take ?

[Q] Google Voice and Native Text App ICS

So with ICS on my TMO Nexus S, I selected "Also from native messaging app" in GV notification settings. Now it seems that all GV texts are appearing in the Native Text app (which is nicer than GV text interface) and it seems like when I respond to those texts (via native app), the responses are sent via my GV account and not the carriers. Anyone else noticed this? I can't find any documentation on it.

Google Voice Text - Different Number

I switched off of Sprint over to Straight Talk and am now using a N7100. I had one of the early builds of Paranoid Android installed and just installed the most recent from a few days ago but my texts aren't working properly. They keep coming in as a different phone number then whom is texting me. Yes I understand this is what it does so that I can text back to that number to them to make it show up as my Google Voice number. However, I have installed GV Integration which does text through my Google Voice number through the native SMS or GO SMS. This all has worked perfectly fine until I updated to the latest version of Paranoid Android. I can still text out fine, but for some reason, texts coming in keep showing up with a different phone number instead of just showing up as their normal number in the native/GO SMS client. I do not think this is a Paranoid Android issue. I think this is a setting issue. The GV App is set to deliver SMSs to the native client which I think is the option I want selected. Any ideas on what to look for?

[Q] Voice+ and Hangouts Double Messages Switching Between Data and WiFi

Hi Everyone,
I hope someone could point me in the right direction or has experienced this and solved it. I did a search but couldn't find a similar issue.
First, I've experienced this issue on DroidKang, one other ROM which I'm forgetting at the moment, and now SOKP. The Google Voice app is configured to receive messages via the messaging app (Hangouts) and Voice+ is activated (it routes all outgoing SMS/MMS messages using your Google Voice number no matter the messaging app).
- Like the title of the thread, when I switch between WiFi and Data connections, a whole stream of Hangouts SMS messages comes in that I had already received before switching over.
- If I continue that Hangouts SMS conversation for a bit and then switch back, all of those messages from the continued Hangouts SMS conversation will again stream back in.
- I end up having two entries in the Hangouts conversations list, one from the correctly named person, the other from a random number but the SMS text is prefaced by their actual name.
I really like the ability to use Hangouts for SMS but require to use my Google Voice number in order to do so.
I'm not being too hopeful but maybe someone else has experienced this?

Google Voice/Note 4: SMS from 2 numbers not reaching phone

Hey everyone,
I get texts from 2 numbers on a constant basis to my google voice number and suddenly I noticed that I wasn't getting them anymore on my phone. They show up on the google voice app and on the web page just fine, but not in the default messaging app on my Galaxy Note 4, or in Google Hangouts when I switch that to be my default messaging app.
Things I've tried:
- deleting the contact and everything from google voice
- unlinking and relinking my phone via the google voice webpage and app
- hard resetting my phone
- having those two numbers message my phones built in number (works fine with both messaging, and hangouts app)
- checking the phones blocked/spam list even after a hard reset and nothing was there.
- creating a new google account with a new google voice number and linking my phone to the new account (both text messages went to my phone fine!)
I get every other text message and phone call just fine, sending and receiving to my google voice number. But these two suddenly stopped. And using a different google account/google voice number makes it work too.
I can't just use the google voice app because I need the messages to work with my car's text messaging system.
Somehow something is blocking those 2 numbers from reaching my phone though when using my main google voice account.
Any ideas besides just saying screw it and using the new number? I'd really hate to stop using my number that I've had for years.
