[Q] Tasker question - General Questions and Answers

Can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere, perhaps I've missed it and sorry in advance if thats the case. I have set up an nfc tag that activates a "Home" mode and "Away" mode and got NFC working while the phone is locked. My only issue is that it is hard to know when I activate home or away. I'd like to set up the LED to blink a couple of times when I enter home mode and a couple with a different color when I leave. I cant seem to find a way to keep the LED from continually blinking until the phone is unlocked. Is there any way to set it to blink for a small period of time then stop?

I don't know about the LEDs, but you could set up 2 different NFCs.

Idea for handy screensaver app...

If any of you have ever owned a recent Sony Ericsson phone you'll know they have a handy digital clock screensaver which runs without the backlight, just using high contrast colours; black background with white text. I know you can do this with spb Time, but the slightly newer SE phones (eg. k700i) also show icons for missed calls and messages on this screen, which I think is very useful.
I often find myself staring at the LED waiting for it to flash orange or green so I know if I have a message or not, or having to turn it on and off quickly, which seems a bit pointless!
I've only ever coded in Pascal and VB myself, so I'm not that experienced. Would be grateful if someone could let me know how I can write this sort of thing easily (needs to run full screen and lock buttons, unlock buttons when receiving a call, etc), preferably without having to put the eVB runtime on everyone's PDA!
Let me know what you think of this idea. Obviously I'd have to test how much more battery power it uses than keeping it in standby, so that may be a problem.

This is not quite the answer to the problem, but I've knocked this together for my own use, but it might help.

You use a hardware key (say record?) to switch on the PDA, show you your Today screen for as long as you hold down the button, and then switch off when you release - quickly check appointments, missed calls etc.
I'll be working on a screensaver, but for now, this suits my needs.

MortSaver does it all. Clock (when you push a button) and missed calls/sms (when you push a button). In 5 secs the device is auto powered off. unless you unlock it with the unlock buttons you specified at installation. www.sto-helit.de, freeware.
even though screensaver is prob the wrong word imho
then one thing which would intrest me was how much shorter the
batt time would be using such a program compared to just turning it
of because when you turn it off you dont just turn off the screen you aslo
disable all programs and put the cpu in a sleeplike state
this would not happen when a "screen saver" were being used

Problem with hitting screen buttons when pulling phone out of pocket

When my phone rings, the screen turns on. It doesn't matter if I lock ir or not. The Answer and Ignore buttons are still pressable on the screen. Is there any registry setting I can change to make it so the screen stays locked when the phone rings?
I still want to have the option of pressing the Answer and Ignore physical buttons on my phone, but I keep accidently hitting answer or ignore on my screen when pulling the phone out of my pocket.
Thanks
If you install ACs Slide 2 Unlock then you will need to slide to answer or ignore a call. Should stoip the accidental pressing of on screen buttons.
That is not an option. It cuts my standby battery life down to half a day. w/o it I can standby w/o recharging for about a week including phone calls. I probably only talk on the phone a few hours a week though.
BTW I failed to mention that I am on WM6.1
What exactly what you like to do?
If you use a regular dialer the phone will turn on anyways.
If you want something else, like S2U2.. you'll have to accept it's requirements.
Tho, I'm not aware of the battery drain issue. my phone's running S2U2 and it's fine.
try playing with the preferences.

[solved] screen is dead, how to reboot?

hi all,
my butterfly's screen just turned black. the phone is still functional because i'm receiving calls, making calls (my lock screen has a shortcut to a contact), receiving notification sounds, and i WAS able to feel the vibration feedback of unlocking my phone.
so basically the screen just lights up black, any ideas on how to reset it?
I tried to guesstimate on the screen where the reset option is, but i can't seem to get the right area after trying like 10 times...
i'm thinking, while i wait for htc to reply, to just let the battery run out?

Galaxy S7 Help Needed

I have a few issues with my GS7 and am hoping someone here may be able to advise me.
1) Every now and then, approximately once or twice an hour, I get a notification sound or vibration (depending on setting), but no actual notification. I used a program to create a shortcut to the notification log and every time I look there is no notification in that log that corresponds, anybody have any ideas how I can work out what this is?
2) In a similar manner, I'm always getting the notification to choose my keyboard, even though I use Swiftkey and have the stock keyboard disabled. Any tips?
3) I have a wireless charging stand which until recently worked without issues, or none I remember. A few times recently I've taken my phone off in the morning and it's not at 100%, any idea what might stop it charging? The only thing I can think is that if I've woken up and disturbed the phone to check the time etc maybe that's causing it?
Any thoughts on these would be appreciated.
Any ideas anyone?
Same SwiftKey issue here no idea how to fix it.

Press and hold home + power for about 30 seconds, should come out of download mode.

Screen Timeout issue

I use an older Samsung Note 4 with the latest stock OS allowed for it. I have had an issue since day one that I can't seem to find a solution.
I want to be able to disable the screen from turning on, unless I hit one of the physical buttons (typically Home or Right side button). The reason is that notifications and other background processes keep lighting up the screen. Sometimes, the screen will just stay on and not timeout. Also, if the phone is in my pocket, it senses my body and starts interacting as though its my fingers. I am only aware of this once the phone heats up and then all my icons are messed up. The biggest problem is the battery drain from all this. Setting the timeout short does not really help and is kinda annoying itself.
I have not been able to find a setting or app than can suppress this. All of my searches just turn up the opposite solution to keep the screen active constantly.
Is it possible to disable the screen until an actual physical button is pressed? If so, what is the solution? New OS, new phone, app?
Thanks.
