[Q] P1000 Constantly drops WiFi - General Questions and Answers

Hi Everyone,
Hope you can help a Newbie.
My dearly beloved 2 year old P1000 developed a fault when I upgraded through Kies to Gingerbread. The WiFi began to drop out all the time. This is not related to my router btw.
I further upgraded to 2.3.6 using Overcome 7 series v4.1.0 and am generally satisfied, but the Wifi problem remains unresolved.
I don't really know, but surmise that a reversal to Froyo would restore my Tab to normal behaviour. Am I wrong??
Any advice would be gratefully received, and if the consensus is to revert to Froyo - how would I do that?
I am really frustrated by this fault and hope that someone might find a solution.
Thanks for looking.
Tony Martin

Sadly it seems that no one can solve my problem, nor even summon up the energy to tell me to go away with it.
I genuinely thought that since the "Overcome" upgrade came from this site that someone would try to help me out.
I am obviously mistaken. Grateful for the aid given to me during the upgrade, but sad and disappointed that there is no further help to be had.
Thank you and Goodbye.

[Q] Question related to connectivity and data transfer over networks

Hi everyone
Although I am a new member to this forum, I have been using this forum for months as an unregistered member, scouring the search function with queries related to my android phone, a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S [LT18i] and a Samsung Galaxy SII [I9100G], both with the latest firmware and both rooted, thanks to this forum. Now I have gained some experience in the matter and want to contribute as well, so I joined. Some years ago, when Nokias used to rule this world, I had a lot of knowledge about the Symbian platform and was a moderator in a similar forum to this one. I hope I can contribute in the same way here even though my schedule is pretty tight nowadays. I'll do my best.
Now to proceed to my question. Its a general question I have relating to a queer problem.
I have two applications on my phone pertaining to this issue, Pocket Manga and Tapatalk 2. Earlier, when my phone was on GB, wi-fi and 3G worked perfectly for PocketManga but after upgrading to ICS, the connectivity issues started. Wi-fi and 3G, both would run perfectly for other applications but the arrows representing data transfer would blink for PocketManga. I know that it seemed like compatibility issues with the new firmware, but if I reset my wif-fi router, PocketManga would run perfectly once again...for a while and then the same issue again, only for PocketManga.
As for Tapatalk 2, it works fine on 3G but the arrows blink or don't show up at all on wi-fi.
So my question is, What could be the cause of these problems? Is it a issue with my phone, router, mobile network or with the application? Any insight to this will be appreciated.
Thank you
How did you update? Provider update or Custom ROM?
I'd try to revert the changes and go back to your old ROM (Backup before) just to ensure, that you aren't drawing conclusions between two independent errors.
Except this it's hard to analyse. Sounds like a ROM/Radio Problem to me, but just a wild guess since this just sounds so random (why onle for 2 apps?).
It was the official manufacturer's update. Yeah, the problem is pretty random and weird. But the latest firmware is working fine for me and reverting to the old firmware, even for testing, would too much of a pain just for 2 apps. So, I put forth the question on xda to see if anyone is familiar with such a problem
Anybody?

Are you aware when the Galaxy S Advance will get the Ice Cream Sandwich, or will it go directly to JB?

[Q] (Q) [HELP] App2SD work on Infuse? If so, Which build?

Hi there. This is my first post on forum. I searched around before asking and couldn't come across anything. My apologies if i overlooked anything.
Here's a short run down of the prob. Purchased a infuse off ebay. Phone received on initial purchase worked with app2sd and google hangouts (must haves for me). However, due to faulty speaker, i had to return. Replacement was different. Gui interface and just everything in general. That's when i learned it was a different OS/Rom as you guys would say.
So i searched around and found kies mini and updated to gingerbread. That fixed my problem with google hangouts which is now working fine. Though, App2sd is still not working and gives me the same ole "failed to move application", "not enough memory" error. Was wondering what solution you all could offer?
Should i go back to froyo that it was shipped with and upgrade to another OS in hope i can use my app2sd again?
And Is it okay to upgrade ICS/JB/ or beanstalk from 2.3.6? Do i need to revert to stock first? if so, direction please?
Should also note, that my phone was fubared on first upgrade to gingerbread. "/\ firmware encountered an issue /\" error. Is that what you guys refer to as a bricked phone? Was stuck on this screen and recovery mode failed around 2 times before working like a charm 3rd time around. So i'm now somewhat hesitant to do anything more in terms of upgrading. I do have 60 day warranty with ebay, so i'm not all that worried. Though, simply wanted some advice/direction before i made any drastic attempts at anything else next time around. Thx to those replying. Appreciate any help or support on this.
FIRMWARE: 2.3.6 (not rooted)
BASEBAND: I997UCLB3
KERNEL VERS. 2.6.35.7-I997UCLB3-CL977492
BUILD: GINGERBREAD.UCLB3
I would say that it would be best to flash CyanogenMod or Beanstalk along with gapps and you can move the apps to the SD card by using the settings.

Ps. Thanks again to everyone who made this possible! Truly a wonderful forum you guys got here! A lot of informative stuff and great reading i'm finding here.
???my thanks meter is still at 0. I've hit it several times today. Shrugs???
Issues so far on my new build:

Ideas anyone? Thanks.

[Q] Lags after upgrade.

Hii Devs
I got an Alcatel OT X'POP running jb 4.1.1 with dual sim.
Recently I made an upgrade using ONE TOUCH UPGRADE S. Everything went fine until I discovered that my android got some randoms lags now and then. They are just random. some happens while chatting, exploring, others while playing etc..
So I'm trying to look for a Backup stock rom to flash.
Will that fix my lags ?
If so, where to find ? Because I don't have any, and I've been searching for like 2 days. Found one, "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2284347&page=28 " but it said to have a blacklight problem. If they aren't any, is there a fix for that blacklight?
Hope I get an answer soon, because its really annoying especially i went through all possible tweaks and in vain.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Verizon Edge Not Receiving Calls

Hey guys, up til this week I have thoroughly enjoyed my Note Edge however, as of late the phone has stopped receiving calls from my wife's iPhone 5s at least 90% of the time. I say only my wife's phone because thus far I don't know if anyone else has tried to call me. I was wondering if anyone else on the Verizon version, or any version, is having this same issue or if there's at least someone that might be able to suggest some ideas to try and remedy this. Thanks guys in advance for your help

That is very odd. It shouldn't be doing that. I have had the phone since launch and haven't had that issue. Have you installed the advanced calling feature on your phone? What troubleshooting steps have you taken?
I haven't tried any in depth troubleshooting yet, as it seems the kink might have worked itself out, or I could potentially chalk it up to Verizon's weaker service in NW Louisiana. But I'm going to try some things out tomorrow and see how that goes. I haven't installed the advanced calling feature either. How do I get that set up?
