I can't as I only have a A700 and would not like to risk putting something out on the internet I have not used & tested myself.
Maybe someone with a A701 will take up the task and do something similar.

Well, we will have to compare notes. I'm sitting on a fully de-odexed version as we speak
Just have to get the time.

Sorry for asking. But what do you mean by JB firmware? Where do I get it?

Jelly Bean firmware, ie bootloader touch screen firmware etc.
Its included the Rom gives you the option to install it.

So I basically need to install this ROM. I have already flashed CWM 6.0.1.5 Great

Yeah just choose the option of bootloader install.
It asks you

Class Rome, that helps some as hanging between ICS and JB and not come vorran. You might want the install guide yet to explain how the first query is to use.
- Users with JB 4.1.1 pick the one
- Users with ICS 4.0.4 the second
Saves a few unnecessary questions and confusions.

Should be fine, Can you link me to those, I want to compare them to see what is different.
Difference between UK & US is regional setting's and the UK one is a slightly newer build.

Installed just fine on my US A700. The only thing that I had to do was say yes to the new firmware, even though I was already on the new OTA JB release.
Very nice... I actually transitioned to the CM10 nightlies release, but awesome job.

if i look in settings i see this : Acer.AV051.A700.RV09RC07.EMEA.DE
so for me it looks like it´s the same as available on Acer.DE OS Download Site.
maybe it put´s this inside when you select DE as Language and Country
Update:
okay, i reinstalled it again, now i chosed English and UK and also had Acer.AV051.A700.RV09RC07.EMEA.DE
is this a fault of my device or what

Did you install the bootloader/firmware?
I think that maybe the difference as that is shown under image version.
I've done a compare on the UK & DE roms, I need to find a way of extracting flexrom.img to compare more.
Although I can confirm the "Acer.AV051.A700.RV09RC07.EMEA.DE" is in the flexrom.img

no, i was on stock jb before
and direktly before i install it i was on CM10 with all wipes and show´s on settings:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/attachm...verfuegbar-uploadfromtaptalk1351032309492.jpg
so i do not think there were still leftovers from the Stock JB OS, because it also was not shown on Info Page!
i will try another install WITH firmware install option
---------- Post added at 12:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:14 AM ----------
okay, now i have RV10....
but WHY? were are the leftovers from the os before? :what:

With the help of Vorbeth I could manage to install this image. Thx one again.
Now I noticed one strange thing. When I want to reoot into recovery, it just shows the option to turn off. I don´t have the option to restart, to boot into bootloader or recovery. So i thought to boot into fastboot and flash the CWM 6.0.1.5 from pawitp. But there was an error message "FAILED (remote: Invalid Partition Name.)". When I want to reboot the Acer Logo animation shows up an remains in a boot loop. What can I do now and why can´t I flash the CWM?

Restart your device in recovery mode
PERFORM A NANDROID BACKUP FROM THE MENU
Select the option to apply an update zip, and select the zip file you copied to your memory card
Upgrading
No wipe is explicitly required in order to use this ROM, however if you do encounter issues of any kind, it is recommended that you wipe your device and reproduce the issue before raising it here.
Downloads
This ROM is now available in the free online kitchen at MoDaCo. In addition to the kitchen, a prebaked download is available.
Gr5 (default kitchen options, no MoDaCo additions) - DOWNLOAD
Radio 12.62.60.27U_26.13.04.19_M (extract from zip and flash via 'fastboot') - DOWNLOAD
Please note that the download links implement referring checking to avoid deep-linking. If you are redirected to the MoDaCo homepage when you download, try 'right click save as', disabling ad blocking / no script or if all else fails try an alternative browser.
Unedited RUU
If you would like to base a ROM on 3.06.405.1, I have put the stock RUU online for you. I do NOT recommend flashing this in it's entirety, it should be used only for development purposes! DOWNLOAD
Thanks
It's impossible to mention everyone who contributes to the Android community by name, but to everyone out there who does great work and shares it with us all - you have my gratitude and respect.
Future Updates - READ THIS!
By providing this ROM I am not implying in any way that future updates will follow. Due to limits on my time and the fact that I have a large number of devices for short periods of time, it isn't possible for me to continue providing ROM updates indefinitely. Please do not donate / sign up on the assumption that future releases will be available (I don't want you to be disappointed!).
I no longer have access to a Desire HD, so this ROM is no longer being updated.
The download and kitchens will continue to be available should anyone wish to use anything from the ROM - feel free to contact me via PM with any questions.
And finally...
Details on how to donate should you wish to do so are in download topic at MoDaCo.
Enjoy!

In the future, when updates are released, you can just flash without wiping hence keeping all your data. This is the case unless there are major deviations from the original base ROM. That said, if you don't mind losing data, I'd always recommend a wipe.
Regarding the ROM, I can't wait to try this tonight (3D Gallery, Lockscreen )....... Why do I have to work, why do I have to eat and why oh why do I have to sleep??
Will report back any issues etc.
Thankyou once again for all the hard work.

if you did uncheck the defaults at Applications/software, HTC Sense, then when you press Home button, you dont get a question which launcher to start?

Yep, playing with it. With AOSP from CodeAurora, AOKP and CM9 also.
CodeAurora sources are working great since Acer used it as base, but for CM or AOKP it's more difficult, especially RIL part (telephony and data), like all Acer phone.

hey, i just bought the acer liquid glow and saw your rom. great stuff man, good to see that even for less popular phones there are still developers willing to invest time in making custom optimized roms.
however since you're pretty much the only developer building a rom for the acer liquid glow and i haven't found user reviews, i was wondering how well it functions. Any known bugs and such. Since we are with only a very limited group of phone owners i wanted to know how stable it is since i'm not a developer myself and dont want to bother you with noob questions on problems.
Furthermore, how is development coming along on the cm10?
once again great to see you working on this phone
Hi,
I tested the Glowing Liquid and I can say that it works really well It is rock stable and much quicker than the stock ROM it is based on. You won't be disappointed
How is CM9 coming ?
hey, i'm struggling with the rom. after i installed the zip through cwm i get the orriginal acer boot screen. however when jumping to the boot animation it crashes and it falls into fastbootmode indicating an error in the normal boot procedure. i'm restoring the phone now and see if it works if i start from the top again
did anyone experience a similar problem? any suggestions.
lastly, a new download of liquid glow is problematic, i get a box where i need to put in a password and username.
Did you wipe before installing the ROM ? If not that could explain the issue.
Try flashing again but use wipe data/factory reset, then use the wipe options in the advanced menu (dalvik, cache,...). That should do the trick.
As for download, Vache is experiencing a few issues with his server so just wait a little.

My liquid glow sometimes reboots on using Maps navigation and with Extended Settings (I notified the developer, we're looking into it).
I also have network problems sometimes but it might the coverage at my work place.
Has it happened to you ? And is it better with this ROM ?

Having many issues with wifi on the stock Rom (disconnects, authentication problems...) so installing your Rom now hoping this will be something from the past.
I have this phone for 2 days now, it's the second since I returned the first because of the wifi issues, this one has the same problem!!! Tested it on three different wifi accesspoints. I experienced more errors with WPA2 then WPA, but still very unstable. The rest of the phone: great for its price!
New version released
Why update me said that this rom is unsupported by update me?
Inviato dal mio E330
Can i unroot this device? Because My battery is always 0% after installation of this rom...

Any news for this project? Sorry but I can't read Mandarin.
Is it possible to download a recent version of this ROM?
I'm currently using SlimDroid 8.1 but init.d support is not working. I need init.d or at least a way to customize init.rc.
I've tried to create my own ramdisk-uboot image but fuse refuses to flash it.
Code:
assert failed: run_program("/tmp/fuse", "ramdisk", "/tmp/ramdisk_mmc.img")
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
I may be doing something wrong because the file type of my own ramdisk-uboot.img differs from the original
Code:
file ramdisk-uboot.img*
ramdisk-uboot.img: u-boot legacy uImage, ramdisk, Linux/ARM, RAMDisk Image (Not compressed)
ramdisk-uboot.img.original: u-boot legacy uImage, ramdisk-uboot, Linux/ARM, RAMDisk Image (Not compressed)
This is how I created the file
Code:
mkimage -A arm -O linux -C none -T ramdisk -n ramdisk -d ramdisk-uboot ramdisk-uboot.img
I've tried with the normal an gziped version of ramdisk-uboot, but still no luck.
THX!!! I will try this rom very soon.

Since the stock rom doesn't have enough credit on this forum I'm submitting something I just did for myself in case anyone may find this useful - plus I'm adding some small customizations to get the stock better and more complete (starting with AOSP Browser and Flash Player support).
# WARNING #
flash at your own risk and get yourself ready with a backup or at least another working flashable rom into the device. I'm not responsible about you not paying attention to this rule.
ODEXED stock ROM KOT49H
download - MD5 92FCFE8E1E165E25F192D52CFF896B54
DEODEXED stock ROM KOT49H
download not available at the moment because I want to make a full deodexed version, including the /priv-app folder and an API level 19 deodexer is needed - COMING SOON
4.23 bootloader is mandatory for this to work (also I suggest to make a FULL WIPE if you come from anything different from stock) - MD5 C40832B03800D929CBD45974F41EFB1E.
Both versions have been zipaligned, rooted with SuperSU (you need to flash latest version to make it properly work on 4.4.x, get the package here http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu) and include busybox and init.d support.
Stock 3.1.10-g4776c68 KERNEL, CWM flashable
download in case you want to revert back on the stock kernel after messing up around - MD5 BA31CF10D99053A895740F5F98CF8404
Missing system apps, CWM flashable
download to remove /system/app/BrowserProviderProxy.apk-odex and get back News and Meteo, Browser and Chrome Bookmarks Sync (for this 4.3 version is included because google is not providing an updated version anymore). These are deodexed apps (works on an ODEXED rom, don't worry) - to get the .odex files you can then flash this one (this is device specific).
NOTE that these apps are kind of deprecated (and probably Gallery and Launcher will also be added soon to the list) and are no longer being updated by Google in the factory releases. I'll do all I can to keep the versions updated.
Adobe Flash Player
Flash player is NO LONGER SUPPORTED in Android 4.4 Kitkat (not officially using Adobe app, you probably need a Browser with flash included).
# DISCLAIMER #
All archives and apps are tested by myself on my grouper (Nexus 7 Wi-Fi only) - remember to clean Cache / Dalvik Cache from recovery AFTER applying any of the zips (especially for the ROM - Full Wipe needed if coming from a non-stock ROM, obviously) - and please check MD5 (where stated) before flashing... you are warned.
Have fun (have KitKat)!
I'll try to keep the thread and OP updated as I can.
# EXTERNAL MODS #
I do not take credit for these, it's just a collection of mods "clean and close to stock" that I use on my device and you may wanna try - everything here is tested anyway (pay attention and check if this mods are suitable for my current release)
Bluetooth Low Energy support libs
Bootloader 4.23 needed for 4.4.x
LeanKernel (clean and stable kernel close to stock and updated to latest Linux kernel)
Stock Recovery

Let me answer your question.
Yes ICS source is very complete, but alot of work is still needed.
You can check try-zet posts for an complete answer on this subject
And then we are talking about CM9/ICS... This is old news. Currently you have better performance and customization on the JB 4.1 / 4.2 builds, and adding the xposed framework plus modules , even better.
No one is interested on wasting time on an old OS, that won't bring nothing new.
Also CM requires some additional work to build.
B.Regards
