Uninstall Root - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am rooted and want to do a factory reset to return my tablet. (Volume button quit working) What is the correct way to do this (Unroot)? I also want to uninstall my Titanium backup so the device is factory reset.

Then after that how do you correctly uninstall Titanium backup? I thought even with a factory wipe the backup stays on SD card.

Factory reset and root.

I downgraded to ics and rooted then used ota root keeper to preserve the root and get jb. However the tablet is lagy and I need to factory reset. Will the root survive a factory reset?

Yes, a factory reset doesn't remove root.

Be sure to reinstall SuperSU after resetting.

Restoring nandroid to get back to stock

I have been using android since a yr or more on my xu. I never created a nandroid coz sony fw was mere 300mb and i used flashtool to flash stock... bt I got a s2p now wid stock fw as large as 750mb which I cant download.
I want to try cm10.1 bt I have no stock rom flashable via odin
So if make a nandroid backup now.. so can I restore it to get back to stock when m on cm10.1?
you mean backup with cwm? yes. make backup, flash cm, if you do not like cm or somethin went wrong with installation restore the backup with cwm and you are back to stock. but do not delete the backup.

Wipe Galaxy s3 Keep Root?

Basically I want a strait up clean slate. I'm running rooted stock 4.2.1, and all I want to do is delete all apps and keep my root. I'm using TWRP Backup.

To start with a clean slate while keeping root I would recommend booting into recovery and selecting the factory reset option and then wiping the cache. Then once you have done that reboot the phone and you'll still have root but you'll have the clean slate you wanted.

By using this option, I would I still have my TWRP Backup just in case something happens?

Yes, if you make a backup of your setup before you wipe everything in TWRP you can then latter restore your backup in case something happens.

Yes anytime you use factory reset in TWRP itll keep root but wipe everything else.

how to do a full wipe.

i want to upgrade from viper c2 5.00 to 5.10
can u teach me how to do a full wipe, im using twrp.
cuz i read many threads and its all different methods, thanks.
Just factory reset from twrp. That should suffice. But if you really want to do a full wipe then you can manually select what you want to wipe from advance tab in wipe

I just did this before flashing a new ROM and seem to have lost Root privilege.
Is this normally what happens when Factory Resetting with TWRP?

Yes it's normal.
TWRP will ask you to restore root privilege before leaving recovery. Just follow the procedure.

Reboot alert pops up

Every couple of hours i get this message and then i have to reboot. Does anyone know about this, if so how do i fix this? Thanks ahead.
It lools like a malware. Try factory reset.

Reboot
Are you rooted or stock. If stock it may have something to do with the latest OTA OJ6. If rooted, I think what the 2nd post could be right, reset is you best option. Just make sure u backup your data on the internal memory. As it be erased with a hard reset.
