[Q] i need help with rooting - General Questions and Answers

1st off I have gotten as far as getting the phone's (a kyocera hydro) drivers installed and verified via "adb.exe shell". Then I backed up my phone to my laptop
I have tryed rooting via a prog "Superoneclick". Superoneclick get to number 5 line and sit's and is waiting for something, I have no idea what it is waiting for. Does anyone know of an error list for the Superone prog so I can fig out what it wants?
Also I can't find a clear step by step instructions (like step 1 do this, step 2 do this and so on) to root a phone using sdk. All the instructions I have found are very highly technical and hard to follow. Also they omit some steps or don't spell out what is to be done and were. It makes it hard for someone like me (my field is repairing 2 way radios) to follow the instructions. I can follow instructions if they are spelled out clearly enough on each step.

[Q] Rooting samsung transform on a mac

Ok first off thanks for your help in advance. 2cd here is my issue. i have scoured google for help. Nothing that really works. Superoneclick will not work. i simply get the "waiting for device" all the time. Other methods i have tried will not work . I have used terminal but the adb file does not have a "su" file in it. did they remove it from the android sdk?
ok here goes.... i have a mac. NOT A PC.. A MAC... i do have parallels with windows 7 ultimate edition. Running windows apps in a virtual environment is not the same.. trust me i have tried. i an looking for a step by step explanation on how to root a samsung transform on a mac. please do not point me to the "epic" forums. i tried that. even watched the video. once again.. no "su" file in the sdk. Im not a total nood but i am new to android. Please if anyone has successfully rooted there transform please list STEP BY STEP instructions. Do i unmount the sd card? uncheck usb debugging first then check later? or should it be checked from the beginning? what do i need to install.. on a mac.... or can i install the windows files to windows on the VIRTUAL machine and it work?
When i plug my phone into the mac all i get is charging.... thats it. Never tells me its plugged in .. nothing. Syncmate does not pop up. even with the sd card mounted it doesnt show up in my mac. nothing.... how do i even get the phone to show up
I am tired and have a headache searching so hard. Is it just me or has google gotten worse with time. Some of the main search returns on the first page are so irrelevant its crazy. I have windows mobile phone and dare i say it.. getting the hard spl loaded to unlock the phone is super simple. Maybe its because this phone is kinda new but still i am having alot of trouble. There has GOT to be some mac users out there that have rooted this phone........ please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Q] Help please! Sdk/usb problem

Computer Hardward: Windows Vista 32 Bit
Phone: HTC Hero-Sprint
Ultimate Goal: Putting Android 2.2 on my phone
I'm not a programmer or have any in-depth developing knowledge . However, I follow directions precisely. I feel like I've tried following several different directions on XDA and I start completely over each time trying a different one(uninstalling SDK and re-installing per particular directions) and they have all came to no avail.
The following link I will use as an example set of directions:
droidoholics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=187
BUT, when i get to this section in the directions:
" When the new hardware device notification pops-up on your pc point windows to the driver folder we moved to our C-drive(C:\android-sdk-windows\google-usb_driver) and install the adb driver"
I follow the directions and I've verified the folder and contents are there. I unfortunately ALWAYS get the following message:
"Windows was unable to install your ADB"
"Windows could not find driver software for your device"
I need help getting past this beginning step and feel like I've looked everywhere and followed all directions. Any help out there?? I'm drooling in anticipation of getting 2.2 for my device that the carrier will not be updating. This small step is stumping me severely.

[Q] Rooting~ (issue) Waiting For Device

Samsung infuse.
Windows 7 OS
microsoft .net framework (latest version)
The Issue:
Once all steps followed, phone plugged in correctly in debugging mode with sd card unmounted, and SuperOneClick is activated via the "root" button I receive a not
responding notification at the top of the window. The root process seizes up at the Waiting For Device entry, and it will not move forward/Detect my device for anything!
What I've tried:
I have followed correct steps for rooting using SuperOneClick, tried running program as admin, tried ending the process via process manager before re-attempting the root multiple different ways, toggled debug during root process, turned phone on after running root, and downloading pdanet to find all the necessary drivers that may or may not have been missing.
Possible Reason For Issue:
After all this, what I beleive the problem to be is I am missing cdc abstract control model. Anytime I try to aquire this, I receive a "driver not found" message.
I have sought it out manually and turned up with nothing.
The Main Question:
How can i fix, or proceed past this point succesfully/get SuperOneClick to detect my Samsung Infuse 4G device?
Ideas/suggestions/info/programs that help/step by step assistance would all be greatly appreciated.
I used a search on the infuse forums and came across this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088122&highlight=superoneclick
Therefore, this thread will be closed to keep the forum clean. Ask your question there.

Need help using adb to root thunderbolt

Maybe Im an idiot but Im trying to follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996616 to root my thunderbolt and have no idea what im doing with ADB.
I tried reading that ADB workshop but Im still lost. Adb wont seem to let me do anything. Even a simple command to list the connected devices results in a permission denied error. Is there a step by step instruction or video for rooting the thunderbolt that actually includes the EXACT commands needed to do this successfully rather than assuming that people are familiar with the various commands and quirks of ADB?
I've manually and one click rooted other phones before but the most complex it got was mounting my sd card in windows, copying over some files and then rebooting the phone into recovery mode.
Why is this phone's rooting process so over the top complex?

[Q] noon needs help figuring out how to root nexus 5 using a mac

Could someone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong when I try to root my nexus 5?
I've followed the many similar cf-autoroot instructions I've found online, but to be honest, I think that there must be some prerequisite steps I need to do before I can actually root.
Here's what I've done so far: I've downloaded the ADT bundle and installed the 4.4 SDK and recommended tools. I've also downloaded the cf auto root files and have them saved on my desktop. However, when I enter chmod +x root-mac.sh into terminal it says command not found. When I simply try to open the file from finder it opens the script in text editor, which obviously does nothing. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Everything i have seen online make it look so easy, but I'm getting nowhere... Could someone please help me figure this out?
Have a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515640
Using a toolkit my be useful if you're not sure of things, but obviously caution is still advised if you aren't sure what you are doing.
I used this with absolutely no problems. I was originally looking forward to manually inputting the commands in terminal just to get familiar with it but saw the Android icon. in my curiosity I clicked it and it started the process for me. Took a couple of minutes.
It's done on Mac just like it's done on ANY os.
You need fastboot and adb in your PATH or you need to have all the files in the same directory.
