[Q] Asus Day Scene Full TF700 - Asus Transformer TF700

Hello All
I came across the Asus Day Scene Full live wallpaper today however I cant get it to run on my TF700 properly. It goes to a white screen a crashes. The device is unrooted, is this the problem? Its a lovely Live wallpaper and Id love to have it.

Isn't that the default wallpaper? As in, the one that is running straight out of the box? How did you manage to break the TF700's stock default wallpaper? Oo
Have you tried a cold boot? the procedure can be found on the forum.
If that doesn't help, try reinstalling it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1638541
just extract the .zip, put it on your tablet and run the .apk.

This isnt the default one this is the FULL version which has two additional scenes day winter, and snow winter as seen here http://androidnexus.com/guides/inst...xus-7-tablet/attachment/asus-day-scene-sunset. Ive already tried many time to install that apk you posted and others without any luck :crying:

Then why are both the Winter and Snow Winter selectable in my wallpaper settings?

Open up the original wallpaper in your live wallpaper menu, toggle Display Mode to Wallpaper Mode and select any of them from the Select an ASUS Wallpaper setting...

This still leaves the question of how in the world the OP managed to break it. And no, you obviously do not need to be rooted. However, if you have tried to install both the apk file form the thread, and have not removed the system component, might they interfere with each other? Try Titanium backup or something alike to freeze the system-copy of the live wallpaper and see if that helps.

thanks for that new one!
Err, htc_wallpaper_01.jpg has a light blue line at the left edge. Does anyone else have a better copy?
The other thread is closed and I was directed to this.
Edit: Nevermind, I just opened up Gimp and spent a couple of minutes patching up the line. Better than nothing I guess.
Can anyone upload it to somewhere else? cheers
Install wallpapers to original wallpaper folder?
Hi, Thanks for these. I was wondering is there a way to install these images into the original exus wallpaper folder since I want them to show up in the normal wallpapers menu after long pressing on home screen?
I mean I have them them installed on a folder on my sd card for now but that would be much better. My phone is stock/unrooted.
Cheers

Massive EVO wallpaper collection. Over 1800! (Updated: 2/4/11)

Hi everyone. Here is a collection of wallpapers resized for for your EVO home screen (960x800), most of which are from interfacelift.com. ENJOY!
Original file names kept intact, so don't worry, they are indeed 960x800.
This is a very bare form. I hope to get some sort of site going in the future that is much more organized
I will be adding more as I find them.
Index of /evo/wallpapers
Index of /evo/wallpapers020411
zip file: http://www.freeza-inc.com/evo/wallpapers.zip
Update 2/4/11: http://www.freeza-inc.com/evo/wallpapers020411.zip
Also, to utilize multiple wallpapers on your phone, I use a program called WallSwitch, which you can customize to automatically change your wallpapers at a specified interval.
Attached below is a file that if put in the directory of your wallpapers, will hide them from galleries, and tells android not to index the files. Having tons of wallpapers in your gallery might slow it down initially as it tries to index and build thumbnails of them. Just go ahead and unzip and toss the ".nomedia" file into whatever directory you're trying to hide from gallery.

No problem
+1 on WallSwitch. Great app. That was actually the first type of app I sought when I got me EVO. I love change so I have something like this running on all of my machines...
And big thanks for all the walls. This will take me a while to go through.
Pretty excitied about this. Thanks.
DUDE! I've been wanting that nomedia thing forever. Thanks a TON!
Thanks, this is bangin.
For those who don't want to add another program, how do you add wallpaper to the system folder?
I tried and noticed it's locked up.
TIA!
Thanks, I'll Check'em Out
wicked! Cheers
Would it be possible to get this from somewhere that's a little faster than 6.7 K/sec?
All of these wallpapers seem to be distorted; as if they were resized to 960x800 regardless of their original aspect ratio instead of being properly cropped and then resized. As long as the wallpaper doesn't have anything circular in it like the moon, sun, or a ball, it's not too noticeable.
Updated OP with over 150 new wallpapers. ENJOY!

[Q]How do I set wallpapers without croping?

I have this wallpaper that I found somewhere:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I want it to be my wallpaper just like it looks, but when I set it the phone forces me to crop it and I wind up with this:
How can I get the full image as a background so that its not zoomed in or cropped?
I was wondering the same thing ... I seems that you can't unless you put your wallpaper in the same destination the default ones are located which will make it like a stock one ....
Waiting for more experienced opinion ...
Hey man. I know what you mean it can be annoying. The reason why it asks you to crop is because of your phone's resolution or whatever, it can only show so much. What you could try is "PicSPEED Wallpapers" from the market. Download it. Then when you set a wallpaper (from your gallery) a new option to custom crop the iage will appear and you can freely manipulate what is shown as the wallapaper

no that's not correct....
I have the stock GB wallpapers and stil have to crop them when set as wallpapers...
Most wallpapers apps are crap low quality stuff...Plus tons of crap adds...
It asks you to crop because it slides the image over a little while changing home screens (for a static wallpaper). I don't believe there is a setting in the stock launcher to change that. What you generally want is a square, 800px tall and 800px wide, with the image you want in the middle. Then you enlarge the crop to the entire image, and voila.
I use "wallpaper set and save"
On market sets wallpaper without quality lose
Edit nvrmind stretches image

Choose live wallpaper

Ok, I feel like a complete noob asking this, especially considering I am trying to learn how to develop an android app, but how the heck do you set a live wallpaper? I thought you just long press>wallpapers>live wallpaper, but I see no such option. I know I've done it before, and I do have a live wallpaper installed, I was just playing around and accidentally set a static picture as my background. What the heck am I doing wrong?

Idk man. I have the live wallpaper option, not sure where yours went.

That is odd... my option always shows
Can you at least get there by navigating from the home screen/ settings/ wallpaper?
Did you accidentally freeze live wallpapers picker? Can't imagine how the entire folder would disappear other than being frozen.

As a matter of fact, I may have. I deleted all the apks I figured I didn't need (vzw, yahoo, etc) from system/apps and I don't see anything that says live wallpapers picker there or in my system>apps. Do you know the exact name of the apk, as I couldn't find it in the synergy zip either?
Wow, never seen that before.
Could it be that you... don't have have any live wallpapers installed?
Suggestion, try downloading a free live wallpaper from the market and see if the option shows up after that?
On my phone, these seem relevant to the OP's discussion:
/system/app/SecLiveWallpapersPicker.apk
/system/app/SecLiveWallpapersPicker.odex
/system/app/SecLiveWallpaperChooser.apk
/system/app/SecLiveWallpaperChooser.odex
All are set to rw-r--r-- permissions.
Were those deleted, possibly?
- ooofest
Yep, that was it. I was dumb enough to delete secLiveWallpapersPicker.apk. I must have accidentally thought it was one of the built in wallpapers I don't use and deleted it. Glad I made a backup of everything.
I added it back in and it worked perfectly. Got my lovely JB Live wallpaper back, thank you so much!

Android 11 wallpaper bug/'feature'

I was holding off on updating, after getting the Android 11 notification a few days ago in the UK, as I couldn't see much user feedback on One Hyper upgraded to Android 11. But I updated it today and while it seems to be working OK (with seemingly no loss in general performance), I did immediately notice a bug/feature on wallpapers.
It doesn't matter which app you use to apply a wallpaper, the system seems to take over and crop the image. When you pull down the notifications bar it zooms back out to the original 1:1 wallpaper.

Forgive the quality of the above gif, I didn't want to overload the thread with a massive image. But you get the idea.
I did a Google search and it seems to be a common issue, at least on some Android 11 devices, I saw some archived reddit threads from 2020. It's a shame but thankfully there is a workaround (if a little clunky). Apparently live wallpapers escape this weird bug/feature, so with an app like KLWP you can turn a wallpaper (like some of the 1080x2340 formatted wallpapers I made) into a live wallpaper. Again it works but for such a simple thing, it's a shame you have to jump through hoops that weren't there in Android 10.
Eh, why do they need to do these things. I'm already really annoyed that the lockscreen overlays a color tone over the image, dampening all cool vibrant colors and contrast. When i now choose a lockscreen wallpaper i have to overdrive the colors and contrast before applying it to counter the tone.
is this a bug? I thought it was some new effect of the system, if you repair it well, when you are using the Motorola launcher and make the gesture to open the app drawer, the same thing happens.
Whether it's simply an annoying new feature or a bug, either way it would be nice if it was an option.
Again I'm able to use the KLWP app to get around it, but its a lot of extra hoops for such a simple feature (and not a particularly intuitive app to use).
