I have this wallpaper that I found somewhere:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I want it to be my wallpaper just like it looks, but when I set it the phone forces me to crop it and I wind up with this:
How can I get the full image as a background so that its not zoomed in or cropped?
I was wondering the same thing ... I seems that you can't unless you put your wallpaper in the same destination the default ones are located which will make it like a stock one ....
Waiting for more experienced opinion ...
Hey man. I know what you mean it can be annoying. The reason why it asks you to crop is because of your phone's resolution or whatever, it can only show so much. What you could try is "PicSPEED Wallpapers" from the market. Download it. Then when you set a wallpaper (from your gallery) a new option to custom crop the iage will appear and you can freely manipulate what is shown as the wallapaper

no that's not correct....
I have the stock GB wallpapers and stil have to crop them when set as wallpapers...
Most wallpapers apps are crap low quality stuff...Plus tons of crap adds...
It asks you to crop because it slides the image over a little while changing home screens (for a static wallpaper). I don't believe there is a setting in the stock launcher to change that. What you generally want is a square, 800px tall and 800px wide, with the image you want in the middle. Then you enlarge the crop to the entire image, and voila.
I use "wallpaper set and save"
On market sets wallpaper without quality lose
Edit nvrmind stretches image

I have jpeg/png image that I am trying to use as a wallpaper. I changed the resolution of the image to 920x800 and downloaded and saved to gallery on the phone.
When I go to change wallpaper and use that, it ALWAYS brings up the crop tool and doesn't let me pick the whole image. The crop tool messes up the resolution and that's not what I want. I want the whole image as I downloaded it to appear as the wallpaper.
Is it not possible to do
Needs to be 960x800
Doesn't need to be any resolution really. The stock ones are just generally 960x800. Use the crop tool to expand the window by pressing on the edge/border of it and drag out so that you can expand the window as much as possible over the image.

Is true that doesn't have to be 960x800 but it need to be a res that have the same proportions or you won't be able to use the whole image and instead will end cropping and scaling the image.
download wallpaper set and save from the market. its a cool app and it lets you use the entire image. also using a hi-resolution wallpaper or hd wallpaper helps to make it not pixelated and fuzzy looking. it doesn't have to a particular size either.

Nice app but it does the same it won't let you use the whole image it crops and scale and the image ends blurry.

Currently there is no way to my knowledge to use clear or transparent notification bars with lp. But yesterday, I noticed that it would show through With a live wallpaper selected. I also recently downloaded just pictures which comes with a live wallpaper also.
So download Just pictures. Open it and select your favorite wallpaper(s) Long press it and add to favorites. Then go and select the just pictures live wallpaper. Then watch them shine through your previously installed clear taskbar.
I realize this is a live wallpaper and may use a little battery. Though I havnt Noticed any difference.

Interesting. This gave me a theory on why and how to fix it.......I just don't have the time to work on it right now. FINALS /oh noes/

exactly how i feel
anyways, why can't this be done by editing framework-res.apk? i'm pretty sure i had a clear taskbar when i edited mine. i just didnt like the look of the fully clear taskbar because some apps' backgrounds would show through the area where the taskbar went...but the point is it worked? i only use launcherproplus as well
I'm sure if you rip apart lp's Apk you might be able to. However im not that Savy with all that and I'm sure if it was that Easy it would have been done already. Unless devs are just not sharing.

launcher pro and live wallpaper don't work good together for me. it tends to be sluggish when scrolling through screens.
Do u have a quick link to setting up the battery indicator the way u have it displayed? I've been looking for something just like that.
edit: nevermind, found it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848803
Interesting. Are you saying that while using that program, I can choose non-live wallpapers and they would be transparent or only with live wallpapers? If using just images, it shouldn't really drain battery...I don't think...
I agree on the battery drain. And only live wallpapers will work
Supersonicly swyped while on the the pot at your moms house.
Hi everyone. Here is a collection of wallpapers resized for for your EVO home screen (960x800), most of which are from interfacelift.com. ENJOY!
Original file names kept intact, so don't worry, they are indeed 960x800.
This is a very bare form. I hope to get some sort of site going in the future that is much more organized
I will be adding more as I find them.
Index of /evo/wallpapers
Index of /evo/wallpapers020411
zip file: http://www.freeza-inc.com/evo/wallpapers.zip
Update 2/4/11: http://www.freeza-inc.com/evo/wallpapers020411.zip
Also, to utilize multiple wallpapers on your phone, I use a program called WallSwitch, which you can customize to automatically change your wallpapers at a specified interval.
Attached below is a file that if put in the directory of your wallpapers, will hide them from galleries, and tells android not to index the files. Having tons of wallpapers in your gallery might slow it down initially as it tries to index and build thumbnails of them. Just go ahead and unzip and toss the ".nomedia" file into whatever directory you're trying to hide from gallery.

No problem
+1 on WallSwitch. Great app. That was actually the first type of app I sought when I got me EVO. I love change so I have something like this running on all of my machines...
And big thanks for all the walls. This will take me a while to go through.
Pretty excitied about this. Thanks.
DUDE! I've been wanting that nomedia thing forever. Thanks a TON!
Thanks, this is bangin.
For those who don't want to add another program, how do you add wallpaper to the system folder?
I tried and noticed it's locked up.
TIA!
Thanks, I'll Check'em Out
wicked! Cheers
Would it be possible to get this from somewhere that's a little faster than 6.7 K/sec?
All of these wallpapers seem to be distorted; as if they were resized to 960x800 regardless of their original aspect ratio instead of being properly cropped and then resized. As long as the wallpaper doesn't have anything circular in it like the moon, sun, or a ball, it's not too noticeable.
Updated OP with over 150 new wallpapers. ENJOY!

I have a bunch of wallpapers that are the exact size for TF, but when I go to select them, TF asks me to crop them. After setting a picture as wallpaper, the wallpaper picture looks zoomed-in. This even happens to the stock pictures that are in the TF gallery.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
I have the same problem here ...
I tried different resolution but the result still the same.
Go download Wallpaper Wizardrii from the market,
then when you're in gallery click on the share icon on the top right and choose wallpaper wizardrii and tell it to set as scrollable. Your images should look perfect if the pictures are in fact large enough.
Here's mine

I'm currently trying to find a way we can get perfect wallpapers without the use of an app
MultiPicture Live Wallpaper
I use MultiPicture Live Wallpaper to make the images fit the screen. I usually download 1280x800 images and they look really nice.
Wallpaper slideshow is what iuse
I tried wallpaper wizardii and while it kept the size...without cropping...it would glitch while changing orientation...it would take a second or two to "settle" after a few weird little sizings...I couldn't deal with that and also no wallpaper ever looked as tack-sharp as the stock paper....even if it was large enough...

Did you reboot after you installed wizard??
Mine works fine, no glitches switching back and forth between portrait and landscape

Nope....Maybe I'll try that.
Nope....same thing...it kind of "readjusts" itself after orientation....not acceptable.
I DID notice one thing....it seems (and I could be wrong) that if you go to a pic on the web and choose "set as wallpaper" it doesn't crop anything....if you download the pic...then choose to use it as wallpaper..that's when you have to crop.
Which picture are you using??
I don't seem to be having that issue but yes you're right. Pictures from the web work right away but the gallery app wallpaper setter is what brings up the cropping.
I believe they're going to make changes to this in 3.1

Good! looking forward to it....
Well..I tried Multipicture live and it works great...the pictures come out sharp and not cropped...
BUT....
When reorienting screen....they "fade in" and don't stay.
It appears to be by design...is there some way to turn this off in the MP software?
Try 1920x1280. (Yes 1*2*80, that's not a typo. )

no worries
How do you guys put these on you phone as wallpaper? I can only take a small part of the picture as wallpaper image.
have to cut out a piece that's portrait meaning 75% won't be shown as wallpaper, because the images are in landscape.

There's an app called wallpaper wizardrii, free from market. You can set wallpapers any size you want. Try it.
It may not work as well with these, but for some pictures (mostly patterns, textures etc.) you can just rotate it and then set the whole thing.
But you can also try the app mentioned above.
Btw, cool wallpapers, thanks
