Sensation doesnt boot up - HTC Sensation

After i wanted to install a custom rom on my sensation, it doesnt boot up.
1. First of all i unlocked the bootloader on htcdev.com. But i disconected it when it asked me on the phone if i am sure to unlock the bootloaders. It gets a black screen but at the hboot it says they are unlocked. So i continued.
2. I flashed the recovery (with fastboot) which was explained in this threat:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1864053
But i didnt was s-off.
Until there the phone worked fine.
3. So i flashed this rom after a fullwipe:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1833423
Now it doesnt boots up, it stucks at the HTC Screen, what can i do?
Edit:
hboot1.27.0000
Radio11.22.3504.07_M

I'm assuming you installed cwm recovery, if so you can either flash the boot.img or a much simpler thing is just flash 4ext recovery and enable smart flash. And then flash the rom as you did last time. P. S for questions post in the questions forum.

Thank you!!!!!!
It works now.
i flashed the rom with 4ext recovery

[Q] Recovery does not start - new One S model?

Hi everybody,
I unlocked the bootloader of my One S successfully with htcdev.com and next I wanted to flash a recovery image via fastboot, what succeeded. I used this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427
But when try to start the recovery, the phone hangs in the boot screen with the red text "This build is for development..." and does not start recovery.
I tried several recovery images for the ville but none could be started.
What i recognized is, that in the Video "How to Install Recovery in HTC One S" in the thread mentioned above, the Bootloader screen locks slightly different, than mine.
First of all, mine only says "Unlocked" but NOT "Tampered" and second the first green line says:
VILLEC2 PVT SHIP S-ON RL
whereas in the video one can see the line
VLE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
I attached a pic of my bootloader.
So I think my phone is a newer One S, right? Is there already working Recovery out there?
Or am I missing something else?
Thx a lot in advance for any hint
Do you have CWM installed?
sure, as I wrote in my first post. I tried several CWM Recovery Images... the interim one, the actual original one for the One S... no image boots...
Well, it doesnt look like the your phone is rooted.
Try TWRP. Quality recovery.
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda premium
Tampered means rooted. Everything else looks updated. Try to root then see what happens. You may need to root to flash cwm over stock. Not really sure. I just do both always and they work.

What am I missing?
I unlocked the Bootloader on htcdev.com, did the whole thing with entering the token, download the Unlock_code.bin, upload it to phone, said "Yes, unlock bootloader" and so on.. and the bootloader sais, it IS unlocked. If it where not, I wouldn't be able at all to flash a recovery image with fastboot, but this also succeeds (fastboot said "OKAY" when uploaded to phone and "OKAY" when flashed), right?
And the next step after unlocking bootloader IS flashing a recovery image like CWM for then using it to flash the Superuser.zip for gaining root, isn't it? Or am I completely wrong?
Try booting normaly and then connecting the phone to your computer and do adb reboot recovery i know i had problems similar to this when i first flashed a recovery and doing that for the first time fixed it
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
You can gain root access through stock recovery as long as you unlocked bootloader. Did you try Hasoon2000's all in one tool kit?
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda premium
Yeah Try the adb reboot recovery method, If that fails, flash the superboot root image, then use something like rom manager to download CWM to the phone.
@stumpyz9: This did not work, same as if i would start recovery from Bootloader
@dooshbag45: I re-locked and unlocked the bootloader again, nothing changed, it is "UNLOCKED" but not "TAMPERED". Yes, I also tried Hasoon2000's Root Kit and recognized, it just does nothing other, than 1. unlock bootloader and 2. flash a Recovery Image. This had the identical result...
I meanwhile tried these recoveries:
r2-modaco-recovery-clockwork-touch-ville.img
recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.2.4-ville.img
recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.3.1-ville.img
twrp217.img (inculded in Hasoon2000's Kit)
CWM5824.img (inculded in Hasoon2000's Kit)
Now I tried to recover the stock recovery image from the modaco.com site, named "ville_recovery_signed.img"
but this doesn't start either... WTF...
Tampered does not mean ur rooted I had that problem left phone on stock for a week then tried same method again must of been doing Something wrong learn how to do it manually but if u can't download all in one toolkit HTC.one s I think that's what's it called it will unlock bootloader flash and root
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
@azzledazzle: the superboot method didn't work either... downloaded it, fastbooted it, the phone boots but..... remains in the red-text screen as it does when try to boot a recovery image .... I really think it has something to do with the newer HBOOT Version and the "VILLEC2" thing.. something in booting images works other than in the version before...
Just download all in one toolkit HTC one s

@k1llacanon: The All-in-one toolkit didn't work as I posted earlier. This was one of the first things I tried...
I had that problem when rooting mine left it for a week learnt more about my phone and did it and it worked u must be doing Something wrong

Direct fastboot booting of a recovery image also does not work:
"fastboot boot r2-modaco-recovery-clockwork-touch-ville.img"
same result...
@k1llacanon: This is not the first phone I root... did it with the Wildfire S and the old Desire... it worked the same way... unlock bootloader, flash recovery image.. what can be done wrong with these 2 simple steps? What did you do other?
Have you got
Fastboot (unticked)
USB Debugging (ticked)

And if you think it is because of this newer version have you checked to see if anyone else with the newer version has been having the same problems? Just to confirm thats it

My HTC One S still says S-On in the bootloader!

I bought it yesterday and when I tried to go with the rooting process, when I rebooted into the bootloader, it said ***UNLOCKED*** and above that it said ***TAMPERED***. I figured that it was already unlocked so I resumed with the process. I installed the CWM recovery and the SuperSU.
However, it still say "Ship S-On" in the bootloader. Am I free to flash ROMs or am I supposed to get it to S-Off somehow?
S-Off rooting has not been achieved yet. Unlocking bootloader and rooting with the current methods will allow for custom ROM installation.
hTc One S
One s doesnt have S-off yet,but you can flash rom s anyway .you will just have to fastboot the boot or use twrp recovery ,
I would stick to fastboot tho as twrp doesn't always flash the boot for me.
Enjoy

So I flash the ROM first. Then If i want to install a kernel, I install through fastboot? In that order?
For example: I flash This ROM first and then I reboot into fastboot in the bootloader to flash This Kernel?
Ya you can flash kernel first or last doesn't matter , just fastboot boot.IMG reboot to recovery and flash Rom

[Q] Unable to boot into recovery mode

Hello,
I've been searching on how to boot into recovery mode in this forum but none so far can get me into the recovery mode.
I'm using HTC Sensation XE with Android 4.0.3. I've previously updated my phone using HTC-One-X-Toolkit and CWM, including unlocking my phone through HTCDev, from which I got rooted. Subsequently there's an OTA update which I installed. And now I realized that I've lost my root. So I downloaded supersu and tried to go into recovery mode. When I select "Recover" in the bootloader, the phone shows brief android logo and then rebooted back to normal. Similarly when I select "Factory reset" in the bootloader, the phone just rebooted itself and back to normal.
There seems to be an issue with the bootloader? What can I do to reset it?
By the way, I tried to use HTC-One-X-Toolkit and CWM 5.8.0.9-pyramid.img again. It seems to be flashed well and then the phone rebooted. However, I still can't get into recovery mode.

Are you s-off? You can try flashing the latest recovery touch version via bootloader to see what happen..factory reset is about file data in your system, so no need to do that..

No, The HBOOT mentioned it is "PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL" and "*** UNLOCKED ***" at the top.
I'm not sure I follow what you meant by flashing through the bootloader. I can't go into "recovery" in the bootloader, even though I can see the bootloader menu. I'll try to flash the touch version through the HTC-One-X-Toolkit

Hi,
You should not be using a toolkit for another phone...
Try THIS ONE
Disregard the 4G title. It works for all Sensations(except XL)
Go for the 4EXT recovery.
This contains the "Smartflash " option, which enables you to flash ROMS without being s-off.

I have used the link that you mentioned. I tried the 4EXT recovery and it doesn't work. However, I tried the TWRP and it does work. Now I'm able to get into recovery mode.
Thank you everyone for the help!

[SOLVED] [Help me revive my sensation[stuck on boot screen while trying s_off]

Ok first things first.. this all is what I did and what's my present situation
1. Unlocked the boooader as per the htc dev site instructions.
2. Tried to soff using jbear method. Every thing went fine untill the jbear utility gave command to restart the device.
After restart, jbear utility failed to recognise the device. It said device not detected, please install device drivers.
3. From that moment onwards, the device is stuck at the white htc bootscreen.
4. I also followed another guide to install custom recovery and custom rom without s off.
I was able to flash a custom recovery, and even the rom. But the device won't move ahead of the bootscreen.
5. Then tried to return to stock using ruu file. But my region ruu is still not available so that method didnt work(3.33.xx.xx asia india).
Have also tried a few more methods but none seem to work.
Help guys.
Phone info:

Try to make superCID and install RUU or search for 3.32 RUU
Or try flashing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767&highlight=universal firmware from here 3.33 (there is 058 CID)

he has to be on S-OFF to flash a firmware from bootloader and i don't think he achieved S-OFF
what he must to do is enable smartflash from 4ext(if you don't have that recovery use this one)
then flash the rom

Yeah exactly.. device is still s–on. And thats what is causing all the troubles i guess. Can't flash europe or asia ruu(cid error).
And i have tried enabling smartflash. Flashed the android revolution rom. Installed fine. But still stuck on bootscreen.
And as I am not s–off, so i dont think 3.32 ruu would work. Correct me if i'm wrong.
Try flashing boot.IMG manually.
I don't exactly remember the fast boot command but since fast boot commands are working then you can try flashing the boot image manually.

Not gonna try and bombard you with information I'm not sure why your phone won't boot but I am sure completely installing a new rom (everything) should fix you up so here is what I'll try and lead you to go..
1 use 4ext recovery and enable smart flash and flash a fresh rom.
So are u on 4ext recovery don't worry if your not that HTC unlocked bootloader is just as good as s-off if your bricked and know how to use it

also before flashing any rom
format all partitions except sdcard from 4ext
then enable smartflash and flash the rom
Still no luck
Ok.. i decided to flash a custom rom (ANDROID REVOLUTION)
1. Flashed 4ext recovery
2. Wiped all partitions except sd card.
3. Enabled smartflash.
4. Flashed rom.
5. Rebooted and still stuck at the htc logo screen( m really sick of this logo now).
Did I miss something?
You know those official updates that cone in a format P8500IMG.zip can you try to find that for your phone unfortunately this will probably result in loss of your root

Cheers guys.. Its back to life again
DON'T HAVE WORDS TO THANK YOU ALL.
Here's what I did..
From my experience.. i believe even after enabling smartflash, the boot image wasn't being flashed.
So what I did is extracted the boot. img from custom rom and flashed it via fastboot.
And voila.. it worked!!
Seems so simple now.. but it took me one week. Wouldn't have been possible without you guys.
Thanks a ton.
Cheers.

Stuck in recovery loop

I was helping my friend switch to a custom rom and I messed up. His One XL was on 4.1.1 with 3.18 software. I managed to temporarily change the CID by followin guides and unlock the bootloader using htcdev.com. The problem began after I tried to flash boot.img, from an One X rom because I thought this is a One X(ATT's naming). Now the device is stuck in a recovery boot loop. Once in a while I can get out of it and get to the bootloader. From there I'd erase cache, flash new recovery (TWRP for One XL), flash correct boot.img, go into recovery and flash rom. However, upon finishing install the reboot will start the recovery boot loop again. The phone keeps trying to boot recovery instead of normal boot on restart and gets stuck. I've tried both CWM and TWRP, wiped many times, but it refuses to boot normally. Every time after the logos for the rom plays the phone reboots. Unlocked bootloader but no root or S-off. What can I do?
Thanks
What ROM are you tying to flash? And are you sure you're flashing the boot.img from that ROM zip?
Out of interest, is there a reason your friend isn't doing this himself? Handing an unlocked phone to someone who hasn't undergone the learning experience of actually unlocking the device and researching the ins and outs of a modified phone is a pretty terrible idea.

Wouldn't it be advisable if he formatted and ran a ruu? Sounds like he messded up his bootloader with a incompatible ROM.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
He can't run an RUU. The fact that he flashed a boot.img would suggest that he's s-on, he mentioned changing the CID which suggests that he has SuperCID. S-on + SuperCID + jb RUU = brick.
