[Q] [4.1.2] CyanogenMod 10 - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys!
Just installed 4.1.2 on my Samsung SII and just love it, so it's time for my TF300T to get the update to.
After some searching i found that [OFFICIAL][4.1.2] CyanogenMod 10 Nightlies is the only on out there, or am I wrong?
Problem is I belive I am on JB bootloader. When I got my Asus I updated ICS stock to JB via OTA when I got the prompt, after that I unlocked the device, rooted it and installed TWRP and now running CleanROM 2.5 with CleanKernel. (have also runned Hydro 4.1).
So the questions i kind of simple: Can I install CyanogenMod 10 on my Asus taking in mind what I told you earlier?
Thanks in advance!

No, you cant. Till now there is no CM10 for the jb bootloader, but xplowild is working on it.
I reccommend the OC Rom with untermensch kernel. Runs fast as hell.

Yeah I saw a forumthread about xplowilds work, seems I got a wait for a while.
I will take a closer look on the ROM you mentioned!

[Q] TF300TG - Any real working CustomRoms?

Hi,
please excuse me for my bad English.
Are there any good CustomRom working for the TF300TG?
And is there a chance to get CyanogenMod or AOKP running on the TF300TG without loosing mobile data connection?
Thanks!
Simon-PC
if you are still on ICS, baked bean is the Rom for you.
If you are on JB there is only Hydro for you.

TF300TG isnt supported by hydro jb till asus will post their official jb OTA / sources, hydro ics support for the TG is broken in the latest version and seanzscreams wont update it anymore.
as for baked beans, searching the thread I see the OP promise to work on a tf300TG version but then there's no update, are you sure that its supported and fully working?

There ist no BakedBean-build for the TF300TG I think. But I will test it tomorrow.
And I tried Hydro (ICS-version)... it doesn't worked.
Edit: Oh... NixZero already said it...
tested cleanrom 3.2

hi
i have installed cleanrom 3.2 ,its working now install with default 300t then update with 3g kernel
but i cant switch it off from switchpro widget, and did not try 3g yet need to put some money on sim
however you can always use stock kernel with a custom rom

[Q] Wich steps do i have take to have CM10

Hello,
As i'm not new to android i'm to the TF300T.
I have at the moment [ROM]ASU-JellyBean-Hydro 2.8-(9/11) Project melted butter smooooth installed and i realize the Tablet uses the Jelly Bean Bootloader. But my question is how do i get from this rom to Cyanogenmod 10? I googled and searched this forum but i just can't find it.
I came from ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T Firmware: V10.4.2.9 Only for WW SKU (Android 4.1) - 2012.08.28 firmware.
u can't at the moment.

I am as well stock on official jb based ROM as it updated the bootloader. There is no way to go back to cm10 or cm9 at this very moment. I can't wait get cm10 running on my system. Have finger crossed....

I'm pretty sure that at this point there's no way to downgrade the bootloader. Hopefully ROMs like CM10 will update the kernel so it works with the new bootloader, but we'll have to wait and see.
the CM10 dev just wrote that he already got CWM flashed on the JB bootloader. He is trying with the new kernel, to get it boot on JB and Ics

[Q] Move from CM10.1 nightly to CleanRom

Hello xda-developers,
I'm considering switching to "CleanROM Inheritance 3.2". Right now I'm running the CM10.1 nightly "2013-01-22" and I was wondering If I'm actually able to do so, because the CleanRom-Thread says I'd need the "Official Asus Jellybean 4.1.1 bootloader".
I'm unsure If I can actually switch ROMs because I thought the bootloader is not changeable and will always stay the same for one device. (Probably wrong, I guess?)
Could you please tell me if this is possible? And if yes how to get the 4.1.1 bootloader. (I'm using a 4.2 rom right now - so I have a 4.2 bootloader, right?)
Thanks in advance!
If you can install CM 10.1 on your device, then CleanROM 3.2 should not be a problem. Iv done that several times
And, 4.1 and 4.2 bootloaders are the same, maybe with some slight changes, not really sure about this one )

Great, report back when you got it installed. I recommend you use one of the Clemsyn kernels, dosent really mather which one, but i use the 1.8GHz one )).
You aren't on JB 4.2.1 Bootloader, becouse now it's impossible. Asus haven't unlocked our bootloader in 100%. You can't install custom bootloaders and APX is locked on unlocked JB bootloader. On the forum will be petition to Asus unlock 100% our bootloaders, to we could install for example Custom bootloaders, and our device will be unbrickable with NVflash access. The newest bootloader for TF300T is JB 4.1.1. I think that if you installed Cyanogenmod 10.1, you're on JB bootloader. Were you on JB or ICS, when you were unlocking your bootloader? It's very difficult to install Offical Asus OTA update on unlocked bootloader, becouse many people breaks their devices when they do it.

He had to be on JB bootloader because otherwise he would not have CleanROM installed, which is JB. If he was on ICS and flashed CleanROM he would automaticly install the JB bootloader (might be wrong on this one)

No, if you wanted to upgrade bootloader, You would have to flash offical Asus OTA, there isn't another way.

Ah okay great, thanks for the clarification. I'm running cleanRom now and it works like a charm. Thanks to everyone!
Have you flashed CleanROM over the Cyanogenmod 10? Did you format System? I think that flashing CROMI over CM10 was a bad idea, becouse CM isn't Stock base as CleanROM. If I were you, I would flash at the begining Asus JB OTA from Asus website.

There is nothing to worry about, as i said i have done this several times, but as you say do a factory reset before flashing is allways a good idea.

question about bootloader

i have a samsung gt p3100 rooted, still on ICS. i've tried the cyanogenmod 10.1.2, it works okey, but i get a distorted screen before the cyanogenmod animation appears.
how do we fix this?
do i need to flash a jb bootloader after flashing cyanogenmod based on jellybean? or can i just leave my ics bootloader untouched? will that solved issues about the bootscreen being distorted?
just a follow up, if i flash a jb bootloader, will that still work if i switch back to stock ics?
thanks
Bootloader is not divided like ics or jb that is device specific so dont touch bootloader.. try other things..

There is no bootloader in Samsung devices. I think your problem is kernel-related.

so i can just use the cyanogenmod 10.1.2 without even flashing a jb bootloader?

There will be a lollipop ROM porting on tf700?

Hi guys,
I hope there is a developer who can port a lollipop ROM on our tf700. Isn't there?

Please request this thread be moved from the android development section. Yes I am working on it but I havent had much progress.
WOO HOO!!!!!
Thanks for starting the work on this. Do you think the hardware will be able to support this version of Android? I really hope so, just because I am cheap and don't feel like shelling out the cash right now for a new tablet, that will be rooted and have a custom ROM installed before the weekend hits.

There is nothing wrong with the hardware. ROM is no problem @timduru works on one http://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf300t/development/rom-t2932783 I'm shure it will go with tf700t also as I'm presently running his KatKiss for tf300t on my tf700t. But someone should fix a lollipop kernel.

I'm not talking of ROMS but of KatKiss alone. Kernel is of course a tf700t kernel: Grimlock v 3.
I have also a tf201 with KattKiss running on it issueless.
I am quite a fan of @timduru.If he would compile a lollipop kernel for tf700t, I would love to try his lollipop version.

Would you recommend flashing this TF300 Lollipop ROM on a TF700 with grimlock v4 kernel? Is it stable in your opinion?
Thanks,
Keshav
Just a quick update re Lollipop and Timduru... he's got one out in decent though still Alpha form running on the TF101. That is truly amazing. Have to talk my wife into letting me install it on her TF101. Hehehehe....
Since the Nexus 7 with the Tegra3 chip has a kernel and drivers to run Lollipop, wouldn't this mean Asus and Nvidia have done the development needed to make the Tegra3 compatible with the OS? In theory if Asus wanted to they could release an official Lollipop rom for the TF700.
Being that the Nexus 7 is essentially using the same CPU, could the drivers and anything needed be stripped from that kernel and ported to one that works on our device? Or hell...just use the same kernel?

We were running KitKat on a JB kernel - do you have any reasons why L wouldn't work on that kernel? Probably more critical are the HAL drivers (in /system/lib/hw), but workarounds for potential compatibility problems will be found.

Don't! Grimlock v 4.4 is a kitkat kernel. For lollipop ROM you need a lollipop kernel. And for tf700t you need a tf700t-lollipop-kernel. If someone compiles one I would try timdurus lollipop ROM.

I don't know a thing about coding or I'd be having way more fun with my devices. But I figured new OS, different memory/process management, it would all require a kernel that is new. It was just a thought that if they did it for one Tegra3 device then it shouldn't be hard to bring over if Asus doesn't.
I'm really curious how Lollipop will run on the TF700T. I had a negligible performance boost from 4.2.1 to 4.4.4 and given that Lollipop is loaded with animations, I am a little worried... Kudos to the people trying to make it happen though! Can't wait to see it become reality and test it out! If you need someone to test out the roms, shoot me a message. I have plenty of free time and I might be getting a second tablet (Either a Nexus 9 or a Shield) so I'm not extremely worried about losing the TF700.

timduru's Lollipop ROM is in stable release now, and I flashed it to my 300 yesterday. I believe it is faster than his KitKat version, and that's quite an achievement. The ART runtime is purported to work well with machines that are not overly-endowed with specs, and so far my experience supports that.
I, too, am looking forward to a KatKiss-LP ROM on my 700 also. So far I have seen no reports of a successful, well, port. Someone tried to use Grimlock v4-tf700 and so far has failed.
Any news about CM12 ?
ZOMBi-X-Lollipop (ZOMBi-POP) beta nearly ready for public release.
.... and it's smooooooooth!
