Hey guys,
In your opinion, what is the most STABLE Rom, and what would you consider to be the best?
I have been using Weapon G2X and Its my favorite so far, as far as features go, but Its crazy buggy, Random reboots 10 times a day atleast! So I want something a little more stable. (unless someone knows a fix to the random reboots)
Also, Whats the best way to backup your texts, settings, and app data and settings before you flash a new rom? Also keep in mind I just switched from an iphone to the G2X a few weeks ago, so i am pretty new to the android scene in general.
My backup pro is a great program to save bookmarks, text messages, applications etc, so is titanium backup pro. I will say latest cm nightlies with faux. 4.7. Kernel is a very smooth/stable experience, also just flashed eaglesblood 2.5 two days ago and its also an excellent rom especially with fauxs latest kernel.

In my opinion Eaglesblood 2.4 was the most stable rom i have used on my G2X. There were absolutely no issues; everything ran 100%. But because it was updated im going to go ahead and say that you should use Eaglesblood 2.5.

for me is miui with this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073626 is pretty good no ramdom boot ups
Im using weapon and I also had reboot issues until I went with fauxs UV/OC kernel .0.1.3 and set the minimum frequency to 500 using pimp my cpu.
And for backups I always just make a backup in cwm right before flashing and afterwards do an advanced restore, data only. On top of restoring data it sets your phone back up exactly how you had it. And I've had problems with some backup apps losing my data at random.

Weapon's been great for me so I'm not sure, maybe every phone reacts differently. I did have a bluetooth issue on 2.8 so I downgraded to 2.7 and it's been working.
Definitely Eaglesblood.....Fastest and the best rom I have ever used!!!!!
I'd say the latest Cyanogenmod nightly, with either a Trinity(morfic) or faux123 kernel.
faux123's Debauchedsloths battery driver kernel *amazing battery life, but bad battery percentage readings.
Found morfics kernels to be slightly better, although fauxs work is fantastic!
thanks for all the suggestions guys!
Ive installed eaglesblood and so far I am liking it.
The only problem I have run into so far, is that everyone I talk to on the phone (daily) has commented how quiet I sound sense flashing. Never had this problem before, any suggestions?
I have NO issues at all with the latest CM Nightly running faux's 0.4.7 sv. Unfortunately my device won't allow the OC/UV kernel as it never boots after flashing it. I would love to run the DS version but I think I'd have a real hard time with the funky battery readings. Does this happen to everyone who uses it or is it just hit and miss? Any way to fix it?

Hey everyone! Lately I have been lookin' for some roms without sense, mainly AOSP (which there seem to be a lack of). I have run with CM10 so far, and it seems to have a lot of scrolling lag. Does AOKP have any scrolling lag in your experience? I
If any of you have some suggestions, I'd like to hear them

I gave CM10 a try, I didn't really have any scrolling lag, more that it just felt "heavy".
My issue was with how generally unstable it was, within 24 hours of flashing I was getting reboots every 10-20 mins, during low-intensity tasks or even while not using the phone.

Use Paradnoid Android roms made for jelly bean source. Yes CM10 program. Very buttery. Cheers
AOKP > CM > Paranoid (and other tablet blends) > AOSP
would you rather have a fast basic phone, or a phone that has plenty of options? sure it might be a second or two slower but imagine using phones 5-10 years ago.. those things were turtles

U serious?? let the rom settle or reflash the rom after a full wipe.. been using it since couple of months.. random boots ya but only one 2-3 specific builds which were 3 weeks ago.. its really really stable except for the heavy scroll issue all cyanogenmods hav
For the random reboots just move the min clock freq from 192 to 386

Well I have used Bruce's CM10 rom and I love it so far. The only bug I had was that the SD card (class4) was pushing out 2 mb/s, I fixed that with flashing the kernel though (I thought the rom applied that automatically). The battery life is good, loads of internal memory and I freakin' love the launcher!
Well, I'd like to a try an AOKP rom.. but I am so satisfied with CM's current stabillity and kernel. Maybe I will in the nearest future though
I'm really happy with aokp and its stability!
Hi,
I am running CM9.1 on my Nexus S and off late I have noticed my device turning off suddenly. Whenever this happens battery is low but not low enough. i have seen this happening even when battery was 17-18%.
Has anyone else faced this ? Is this hardware problem or CM9.1 on Nexus S issue ?
Try something newer... Cm10 or anything... If more shut offs... Its probably hardware related
best use rasbeanjelly or metal dragon overlord rom...those are rock stable and really smooth ...
try the marmite kernel or airkernel r2 stable....
If you upgrade to cm10, make sure to use a cm kernel, since cm10 and aosp now require different kernels.

I am a new member of XDA, but have been installing roms and following multiple phones for years. I need help. I am having multiple problems with AOSP based ROM's. The biggest one being battery life, the other being random reboots. I can only get less than an hour and a half of on screen time. The random reboots have been with recent roms. I have tried multiple, multiple kernels and they didn't seem to work... at all.:crying: Any help will be appreciated.:good:
sucks youre not having a good experience. everyones phone is different.
im able to get 20+ hrs and 3-5hrs of screen on time with 4.2.2 roms.
try better battert stats to see if you have a rogue app.
i could honestly count the reboots ive experienced on both my hands total since around september. running KTkernel and a few different AOSP roms.
good luck. i know its not much, but i hope you narrow it down.

If you overclock try to back down your Max processor speed, that fixed my random slowdowns and reboots on the custom kernel I'm running

Hey guys, I currently am running Slim bean 4.2.2 build 4 on my NS4g. Sadly, I'm thinking Jelly Bean has to go... I love Jelly Bean and all the features, but since I updated to Jelly Bean, my phone has been running so friggin slow. To the point where it hangs doing simple things. I can't stand it anymore and I just need this thing to last til Sept at least. I've also tried other Jelly Bean based ROMs with similar problems. AOKP was less slow, but it had some weird annoying bugs that bothered me. CM10 was even less slow but I got raped on battery life.
So, sadly, I'm thinking I need to go back to Ice Cream Sandwhich. My phone ran it great back when I had it, but I'm gonna miss JB... Unless anyone has any other ideas? Maybe completely wipe and reformat my SD card? That's the only thing I really thought of. Thought it might clean things up a bit. But my other question was which ICS ROM should I switch to? I was thinking AOKP Milestone 6, CM 9.1, SlimICS, or...?
Thanks in advance.
I recently got my gf a nexus s but hated all the slowdowns and reboots on all jb roms I tried, until I tried jellyshot with marmite 8.5 bigmem kernel. She loves her phone now, hope tbis helps

Use greenify app from play store. It might help!
How does rasbeanjelly compare to the other JB ROMs? And I just read somewhere else about greenify. Ill look into that as well.
latest hellybean rom with devil kernel(it comes with the rom) is really fast and stable. never had a random reboot with it. try it
I had terrible lag in all the JB roms too. What I did was searching for an efficient kernel. I found marmite, which is fast and stable. I am using the bigmem version with its stock settings, you don't need to OC at all.
As for ICS, I thought it was smoother too, t I found out, it was only because it had less resource-heavy animations. There is a solution for this. Nova launcher has the option to overwrite the default JB animations and change it to ICS ones. In my case it really made a huge difference. If you want to try this, you only have to upgrade your rom to build 5, since Nova is the new default launcher in Slim.
Hope this helps,
Cheers.

As of right now, I am now rocking Rasbean with Matr1x Kernal and I must say, WOW, what a difference. So far the lag has become a minimum problem, depending on what I am doing. Also, the battery life is much better now too. I never OC or anything like that. I had greenify installed but found that most the apps I use cant go into hibernation except the ones I do want updating in the background. As far as animations, I disable those anyways. They are enabled on my Nexus 7, but that can handle it much better than my phone lol. So now I am generally satisfied until I can get the Galaxy S 4. Or if something else happens to come out that is better by the end of the year, but I highly doubt it.
