This problem first happened upon upgrading to the Revolver 4.2.0 build, but I've had issue with AOKP as well so I'm posting here instead of one of the rom specific threads.
The issue is that my wifi refuses to turn on. When I switch on the wifi toggle, the button greys out and it gets stuck on "Turning Wi-Fi on..."
I've tried via CWM to delete the Dalvik, Cache, Factory wipe, reinstall roms, but nothing worked.
In the advanced tab it also shows that the Mac Address and IP Address is unavailable.
Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Try a custom kernel... aokp ICS runs good with raymanfx's harmony ICS or guevor's aokp ICS kernel

It looks like a WiFi driver issue, install a custom kernel n try as suggested in above comment..

Humm, might not be the (only) problem.
I've tried using 3 other different kernels and none worked to fix it. I've cleared both caches and even reinstalled the rom for the kernel installs.
Not sure, but my CWM also suffers from the loop issue, though haven't bothered fixing it since I wanted to fix this wifi issue first.

Hey guys!
I have looked up this issue, but everyone seems to have it then they reboot and everything is fine!
I flashed the CM9 - HellsFire, Eaglesblood, and the one released by CM_Arcee.....
Problem = When I turn on my wi-fi it gets stuck saying "Turning Wi-Fi On...." and just stays there. When I back out of the menu, and go back into the WIFI, it doesn't show the Turning Wi-Fi On..... but it doesn't show any wireless hotspots.
I tried flashing the kernel from Rootzwiki - the latest one thats made for CM9... and to no avail.
I tried...... anyone have any suggestions?

it's a known issue. Wifi calling does not work on ICS, and if it does, it's failing during calls. Hope time will heal this.
If wifi calling is essential for you, i recommend Eaglesblood GB 2.3 rom.

Did you wipe data, cache, dalvik, and system before flashing? If you're the only one having this problem then it's user error.

He didn't ask for wifi calling, just wifi. There are two 2.3 GB Eaglesblood ROMs, I think the one you're referring to is the 2.3.7 one though.
I tried wiping data, cache, dalvik, but I have never tried wiping system.... I will see if that fixes it.
EDIT
I tried wiping system, and then fixing permission afterwards, still no luck! I guess I will have to go back to CM7, and see if my wireless works there.
Hello all I hope you can help me with this...
I'm having the strangest issue with my P6200L... Everything was working fine a couple of days ago... I was using latest CM9 by aorth here, browsing the web and everything when suddenly.... Wifi disconnected and never reconnected again...
The symptoms are:
- displays all available networks in range
- if I force to connect, all networks disappear and saved connections are "not in range"
- if I turn off/on again it displays all networks in range again, saved ones are "disabled", if I force connect it repeats the cycle.
I tried factory reset dozens of times. Didn't work.
I tried flashing CM9 again (with this and another patch I found on the thread (forgot where it is)) dozens of times. Didn't work.
I tried flashing official ICS (Open Austria) dozens of time. Didn't work.
Needless to say, I did data wipe/factory reset/format cache/clear dalvik twice between each flash.
And then I flashed stock Honeycomb. It worked. Wifi connected! All was fine!
Marvelous! Or so it seemed...
Now that I got it working again, I want to upgrade to ICS, so I flashed ICS Open Austria. Wifi stopped working.
"Ohh well", I thought, "let's try everything again"
Flashed stock Honeycomb again. Working.
Flashed CM9 + patch. Stopped working.
Flashed ICS Open Austria. Still not working.
Flashed stock Honeycomb yet again. Working.
Flashed ICS Open Austria. Not working.
Flashed stock Honeycomb. Working.
My conclusion: Wifi works only on stock 3.2.
Why? I have absolutely no idea whatsoever.
I've tried every possible combination of flashing and wiping data (except from stock ICS recovery, as I have one of those bad chips and I'm afraid of the brick bug)
Is there anything else left to try? Maybe copying some system files over from stock Honeycomb to an ICS firmware?
I'm really getting desperate here and I've run out of options. I'm hoping the community here on XDA helps me solve this mystery.
It is similiar to this bug here, but although the user there fixed it by several wipes/flashes, apparently I'm not having the same luck.

Wifi networks keep dissapearing when I try to connect. I have tried in 3 different routers with different encryption settings, so I'm sure this is not on my end.
Could be that you flash and incorrect firmware, maybe for the p6210 tab?
Sorry, I'm just guessing , I don't know what could be the problem.

No problem about that, we're all guessing
But no, I'm sure it's for the P6200 because it worked the first time I flashed. If it was for the P6210 my tab wouldn't even boot, partition layout is different...
I'm having this kind of issue aswell. Wifi is doin' fine with HC 'til flashed it to ICS. Damn, I really hope someone could help us regards with this issue. I also tried Wifi fixer, it helps but not that enough. 'Cause it connects me to my wifi but after a minute or two. It'll disconnect and reconnect. This is happening again and again. And it's kinda annoying when watching video on youtube or surfing the net. Well, just sharing my issue.
Yeah, I know how it's like... I reverted back to ICS while there isn't a fix... It's weird because it also happens on official ICS from Samsung, which it shouldn't
guys, I had the identical problem with wifi on ics. I returned to the hc and wifi worked. Then again the ics and did not work. Wipe cache, Dalvik, data, everything I tried several times and no results . Then I installed wifi fixer and it was a little better, over *# 94 349 # tablet began work with the occasional stop. a couple of times I rebooted it. and after one reboot started to work normally. I know that I m not helped, but it is my experience.

OK, I got some progress.... But it's still bad, keeps disconnecting... Here's what I've done...
I flashed CM9 with wifi patch and tried the app above. Restarted, no luck. Still didn't work.
I removed my SIM card, restarted in CM9, and Wifi worked! If I put it back in, wifi stops working.
I tried changing country codes with the app above, lost 3G SIM card connectivity. No wifi and no 3G, I though I f***ed up everything.
ODINed back to stock Honeycomb. Got a "no SIM card" error. But wifi worked.
Restarted several times, tried changing country codes several times, still got the "no SIM card" error.
After several attempts by removing/inserting the SIM card and restarting I got it working, finally.
Tried flashing ICS Open Austria. Both Wifi and 3G works!!! However wifi keeps disconnecting every 40 seconds or so.
Tried Wifi Fixer from Market, but all it does is monitor when wifi disconnects and then resets it. It connects again, but 40 seconds later it disconnects again, thus repeating the cycle.
It's still not usable, but it is some progress. I'm afraid to factory reset in official ICS because of brick bug, but I'm willing to do some more steps if anyone got some more ideas
THANK YOU very much for your response petrenj! We're getting somewhere here! :good:

Unfortunately I'm experiencing the same problem as yours. I have 3 tabs and all of them exhibits the problem in ICS. Wifi seems a lot more stable in honeycomb. I already tried xxlpl and xxlpn with/without wifi fix from aorths cm9. I'm also experiencing force reboots when I disable and enable wifi for sometime.

How odd... It's weird that some people have this issue while others don't... Also, I'm beggining to wonder if this is something that aorth or other dev can fix, seeing as it affects several different devices with ICS, and not only our tab. I don't think it's a hardware problem, because wifi works in Honeycomb...
So far, if we want to use wifi in our tabs we must remove the SIM card or just stick with Honeycomb... I've stopped using my tab for a while due to the constant data wipes/flashes and dedicated it to try to fix this issue... I really don't want to restore all my apps twice a day while switching between ICS and HC versions
Are there any P6210 users reading this? If yes, are you able to use wifi in your tab? As the P6210 doesn't have a slot for a SIM card, this shouldn't affect you, right?
Anyway, let's wait for aorth to be back from his trip and introduce this thread to him. He should be able to clarify something to us.
Affects P6210 as well

i am running AOSP EB v4.0.4 latest build. when i flashed v4 last month i started having this strange problem whenever i turn wifi on. the wifi appears to complete the connection then immediately drops it and retries the connection.
i thought it was the old baseband (since the installer offers support for both old and new BB's) so i upgraded to the march 2012 BB tonight and reflashed from scratch...same problem. i checked but there are no new software updates for my router so i'm ruling that out.
any ideas? considering my phone is literally empty of all files i cannot see what the difficulty may be.

you dont have to clear everything twice only the once when u flash your rom, and then go straight to flashing gapps. that shouldnt affect the problem your having but try flashing another rom and then EB AOSP again and see if it works i know that EB doesnt have wifi problems cause i used it before.
Might be nothing more than a weak wifi signal or a confused router. Occasionally get this behavior on my stock g2x with all updates. Try logging on from a location closer to the router. Unplugging the router to let it reboot also sometimes solves the problem.

I have flashed with chinmay_7d's RemICS v1.6 . Yeak it looks cool, but I am facing an issue. When I turn on mobile data usage, the phone will turn off after some time (5-6 minutes) and it is not possible to turn on the phone again . It is needed to plug in it and turn on and then only it is working. In this condition, it is showing android is upgrading. There is no problem with using internet while plugged in. Anyone know how to fix this...? I like this ROM very much and so if it if fixed, then that will be cool.

Yes I am .Actually this issue was with 1.5.4 also. I have followed all the steps and cleared dalvik Cache and formatted cache partition. I have even done the factory reset and wiped all apps. I think the issue is because, it is reading the battery profile incorrectly or battery is actually drained when mobile data is turned on and that is triggering switch off thing.

Not sure if I'm right, but I think the practical solution to your problem would be to perform a flash from 0 up KPQ or KPU (which are the most stable to install this ROM), it may be the modem or the base ROM you used (for 3 months I have this ROM and never gave me any problems with KPQ)
Another thing, have you tried testing with Dhiru CM9 Base? to see if the same thing happens?

The issue you are facing is exclusive to you. So i will not consider this a bug from my ROM.
I suggest you to follow correct flashing procedure. Wiping data before flashing a new ROM is a good practice.
It is possible that a third party app you are using is responsible.

It automatically connects to few known networks, but when I try to connect to new networks, my phone refuses to find the network. I know the network is discoverable since my laptop and other devices connect to it. Is there anything I could do to prevent it from happening?? I tried wiping cache but nothing happened.

Try flashing the stock kernel (boot.img) in fastboot and see if it works then or reboot the modem/router first. If it does its probably a kernel issue. Have you looked in the Franco kernel thread if other users have the wifi issue too.
I tried using the stock kernel, the situation remained the same. Shall I re flash stock (factory reset) and try again??
