I recently obtained a new pair of Skullcandy Fix In-Ear headphones, and when using them with my GS3, I can only hear from the left bud. I can hear from both perfectly when I apply a little bit of pressure in the right direction to the jack. The headphones work perfectly with every other source, but I have not tried them with another GSIII. My GSIII can output audio in perfect stereo to any other speaker/headphone.
Seriously, what's going on? Does anyone have this issue, or have an idea on how to fix it?
If it makes a difference, I'm running Beans 14 with the included kernel.

My Beats Buds work fine on Synergy. Had to push hard the first time I used them and they popped all the way in.

I'm just curious to know if anyone has the specs on the inspire 4g headphones Jack output. Like the wattage to be specific. Tried looking everywhere and couldn't find it...
Most likely somewhere between 20 and 50mW. But that is simply a guess. I hope you are not planning on connecting a speaker to the jack?
Well, yes actually, I am. My family has been renovating an old baseball field and I installed a pa system there and when I hook up my phone to it to play music, its really quiet. It's a 25w pa speaker.

the phone only outputs enough signal to drive headphones. anything more than that and you can risk blowing the audio amp out on your phone, never drive a speaker using the phone audio out. id look into a small audio amp you could connect in between.
this would probably help you out

Yes, as Darunion stated, never hook up a speaker to the headphone jack of any such device. What kind of inputs do you have on this PA system? Or are you calling a PA speaker your whole system? What Darunion mentioned would be great to hook up to a simple 4-8ohm speaker, but not a PA system or a PA speaker. You need to match inputs and outputs and without much knowledge of your particular PA system it would be difficult. Any advice without more info might only lead to smoke if you know what I mean.
Hi all.
I'm running in a strange kind of issue.
My HTC headphone seemed not to work any more. That is, my Sensation (both CM9 and ARHD) recognized it as simple headphone, no microphone.
So I got one extra HTC headphone. No way: they just work as headphones without the microphone.
Then I bought a EUR 10.- "compatible" headphones. They worked fine out of the box under both ARHD and CM9. Those are too crappy and the wire on one of the earpieces just broke.
Now my questions.
1. Do you think I just broke 2 HTC headphones or maybe there's some issue with those custom ROMs?
2. Who can it be that a non-HTC, cheap and crappy headphones can work fine?
3. Any hint?
TIA.

Hi,
My BOSE headphone/microphone works fine on ARHD.
Is there any dust or fluff in the headphone socket.
This will stop the pin going in fully, and not work properly.

I've tried the two headphones on another Sensation and they work.
I've tried to use a vacuum cleaner to pump any fluff out of the socket.
But I still get the same: only headphones, no microphone.
This is happening also with CM9.
What the **** is happening to my phone/headphones?

Have a look at the port for your headphone jack. Does it look like the paint is slightly chipped and you can see the silver underneath? Is so then unfortunately like myself you have the issue of the connection shorting as the jack touches the metal case of the phone. This thread might be of some help.

I fear you can be badly right!
I also get the music player started while listening to the FM Radio.
Yes, it looks like a ghost contact!
I'll try to apply solution no.2 as no.1 is pretty ugly!
I sent my first MAXX in for warranty replacement (through Motorola) because the headphones only worked on the left side. The weird part was it was only if the headphones had a built in mic, regular headphones worked fine.
Well, I got my second MAXX and it has the same damned issue. I have tons of headphones and have tried many, its not the headphones.
I have tried disabling all xposed modules and that is not it either.
Has anyone else noticed this issue?
P.S.
I sent my maxx in for replacement with it rooted, they didn't care at all. I did this knowingly to see what would happen.
I have three pairs of headphones with microphone and in-line controls (two different Apple earbud models, and a pair of Bose sports earbuds) and they all work 100% fine.

Are you rooted or stock?

Stock, never rooted.
Can someone else that is rooted test and reply? Might be a root issue..

Are you 1000% sure you pushed it in all the way? I had this issue with another device, and eventually found out those headphones usually take a little extra push to get all the way in.

There is another post about this. I had the same issue. I fixed it by using the other cord that came with my Bose that doesn't have a microphone. Now I come to think of it, this mike cable is designed for the iPhone so I shouldn't have been surprised.
Hi
I'm really interested in this one. Will it be able to drive the Sennheiser hd 25-sp ii? I have the 70Ω version.
Most likely.

As far as I can tell, it's nearly identical to the "beats" output of the DNA and the M7. It shouldn't have an issue, my Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro's are actually way too loud near higher volumes but they're not 70ohms lol.
I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced any issues with their 1/8" audio plug not seating correctly in the new One's audio jack. I've noticed that with the included HTC headphones I cannot consistently get the Left channel to work, which is rather annoying and makes music unlistenable. Twisting the cable and jiggling doesn't consistently fix it, and I don't want to use too much force as that could damage the jack. Luckily, I have another headset that seems to work without a hitch but the HTC headphones also work fine in other devices. I'm not sure if it's a borked audio jack or a crappy headphone problem, but I'm wary of running into this issue again anytime I buy new headphones.
Hello,
A few days ago my earphones were working fine in my lenovo P2 but then one day it started to produce muffled sound.
I pulled the headphone jack up a little bit and after some twists only the right side was producing normal music. The headphones are working fine in computer and tried some other headphones also but the problem persists. I even tried the headphones that came with the phone but they are also having the same issue. The strange thing is that my other headphone Sennheiser HD 203 (I think it is one ring jack while the other headphones are 4 ringed) is working fine in it. What could be the issue.
Thanks
I also had the muffuling issue.
I had the issue from the stock ROM only, then went to Oreo but it was still their thou my fix was simple.
I flashed the lineage os 7.1.2 provided by @Wonder Wicked Witch and the problem is gone....do try this BTW everything is working on the ROM.
So do try it.I am currently using it.
I suggest a Hardware caused problem.
Check for collections of dust, hair and other debris that got stuck in the headphone jack. Use pliers to get it out.
Because "normal" headphones work fine and ones that go deeper in (with mic or controls ) don't, I really suggest you check that, because all the dust gets stuffed in to the end of the port, so jacks that aren't as long won't have any issue.

Hi. I have a audio problem in my Lenovo p2. The audio is very bad when using a normal earphones, but when I use an Universal earphones like Ubon etc etc., it has the setting in it which makes the audio good. The big problem is that I cannot use any other normal earphones instead I have to use universal earphones like UBON universal earphones. Please help me out with this. I have tried factory reset also many times, the issues is still the same.
