Does anyone know a decent way to 2-way sync iCalendar and a Google calendar?
My boss uses iCalendar on iCloud for our work calendar, and I use a Galaxy S3. I want to be able to see and edit the calendar on my phone. I've tried a few of the things that came up in search but nothing seemed to address 2 way syncing with a Google Calendar.
If anyone has a good method for this, help is appreciated!
Really? Nobody?

hmmmmm, maybe not :/
Note: if your phone is already syncing with a Microsoft
Exchange server, you will not be able to use our service.
(unless you have a device that supports more than one
sync server such as a Palm WebOS or Google Android 2.x device).

Is there any solution to get synced with outlook/windows calendar and contact?
The focus is on google applications, so if you search for ways to sync them with google calendar etc it will sync that way.

Yes I understand even if, IMHO, they can't loose integration with M$ systems...
However I used google calendar sometimes ago trying to keep synced blackberry, nokia and outlook... it made me a lot of confusion because it duplicates calendar appointments and gave me also other problems...
Now I can give it a try again.
But, what to do to sync contacts?
I found Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook.
I'll give it a try..
If you have any other suggestion you're welcome

I tried.. it requires Google Apps Premier version.. unusable due to 40€/year subscription needed!!
So I need to find another way again.

try this: http://www.android-sync.com/
It works a lot like htc sync. It does contacts and single calendar entries. they're still working on recurring calendar events.
I'm still looking for a fully working solution.
I tried android-sync but I can't get it working. App hangs during sync and I can't have feedback about sync status.
Actually I can't believe there is no official way to get my device synced with my PC... how anyone can use the phone without contacts and calendars????
Do you think this is why froyo is not an official release?
I use gsyncit http://www.daveswebsite.com/software/gsync/ to sync outlook contacts and calendars with gmail then phone obviously syncs with the gmail server. Gsyncit works very well and is very customisable. At $15 one off cost it's a bargain in my book. (prob the first software I've actually bought)

Does anyone know how to sync outlook tasks with Android phones? I tried Gogtasks but that program is as buggy as hell when it comes to reoccurring tasks.
Does WP7 have better synchronisation with Outlook for appointments and tasks?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.basiliapps.tasks is doing a good job.
but I don't have an exchange account, I just use Outlook and hotmail.
I use Google calender sync http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=89955

Sense4's biggest plus is complete Outlook sync including but not limited to tasks ! I love it & the productivity skin is just amazing.
I'd love to hear about this too... I used to be a proud BB owner/user and loved how easy it was to sync everything with outlook....
It's so hard to believe that nobody wrote an app yet to do just that... if you go on google play/market you can find an app for just about anything.. even for stuff i would have never even in my wildest dream would ever imagined... but no outlook notes/tasks (OTA)... weird!!
I bet that if you search for "scratch my itch" app you'd even find that

There are many free or paid apps in Google play for synchronizing directly with Outlook.
Search for Outlook sync in Google Play.
You can try e.g. my app Local Sync which synchronizes tasks (recurrent too) and notes.
Use Tasks & Notes for MS Exchange, it is free and works fine for me.
You can find this in Google Play.
Hi, i think you can use MyPhoneExplorer
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fjsoft.myphoneexplorer.client
bye.
Is there any workaround for syncing Outlook tasks with Android over the air that still works?
Everyone knows that google calendar cant show and sync google tasks
On my gnex I am using GTasks for this: not handy having 2 apps and 2 widgets but hey... that's at least better than nothing
On s-planner I c that there's a task option but I have the feeling that these are local and can be synced with samsung account (useless as they wont shoe up on the phone) but not with google tasks
so, if I want to keep in sync tasks between phone and tablet I guess to keep on using google tasks ANA GTasks, rite?

to sync task from G account is always better to use GTask
this is the reason why I'm not working with G account task, but with Exchange account task
so use GTask... is answer

no, I do not use Exchange... or better: I do at the office, but no money can push me to configure office emails/tasks/calendar on my private phone
I use calengoo. Great calendar task app.

I use the same 4 local calendars on my Nexus 5 and nexus 7. None of them are synced with Google calendar. I view them with the apps "business calendar" and "calendar status pro". Their data is kept in "calendar storage" but am not sure.
Is there a way I can sync these calendars between the 2 Android devices *without* passing through Google?
Thanks.

I never used this calendars but isn't there an option in them to export?
There is. But that would duplicate the entries. I was looking for a way or an app that would sync the calendars on the 2 devices.

The only way you could sync without Google would be if BizCal provided a service to do that, which it does not.
You are correct about calendar information being stored in Calendar Storage.
Could you try a phone backup app off the Play Store?

Actually I found a way to do it using titanium backup. I tried it and it works.
1. I make a recent tibu backup on the tablet and have tibu email the data part of the calendar backup to myself.
2. On the phone I click on this data backup which inserts it into the phone's tibu and restores the data.
The 2 calendars are now synced. I now need to use Tasker to automate the 2 step process.

It is just the calendar I want to sync. And I don't want to go through an intermediary website.
The best solution really depends on what is your objection to using Google as a conduit for syncing your calendars. Calendar Store supports other calendar providers which can be used to sync so if you have a particular reason for not wanting to use Google but aren't opposed to the idea of using another hosted calendar provider that would be an option.
I use a corporate exchange server to sync my calendar through the "corporate" account setup in Android (actually an exchange activesync client), which works fine and I don't use Google calendar. If you have an exchange server you can use that's certainly an option. If not there are numerous hosted exchange solutions you can subscribe to from Microsoft and other third parties.
You can also use Microsoft's Outlook.com calendar, which does support activesync syncing which would allow you to use the corporate account setup to sync your calendar without installing a Microsoft app. This would be a free solution through Microsoft. I suspect Yahoo may have something similar but I gave up on Yahoo years ago and have never looked back.
If you don't want to sync online at all, then I believe there are several apps that will allow you to sync locally over USB to Outlook installed on your computer. You could use a local outlook calendar to sync across all your devices. I know there are at least 2 or 3 major apps that do this. You should be able to find them by searching the play store or on a google search. Whether any of them will sync to the generic calendar store rather than using their own calendar apps, though, I'm not sure. You'll have to research them.
If you don't want to use Outlook locally, I suspect your options become much more limited. Although there may be something on the OSX side to sync with Apple's default calendar app. I don't really use Macs so I don't know.
I think tibu is best for me. Does the job without an online intermediary - - other than email
I'll fine tune the method by transferring the tibu data file via my home wifi network without going on the web.
My objection is my need for privacy. A losing battle today.
