tasks sync - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Everyone knows that google calendar cant show and sync google tasks
On my gnex I am using GTasks for this: not handy having 2 apps and 2 widgets but hey... that's at least better than nothing
On s-planner I c that there's a task option but I have the feeling that these are local and can be synced with samsung account (useless as they wont shoe up on the phone) but not with google tasks
so, if I want to keep in sync tasks between phone and tablet I guess to keep on using google tasks ANA GTasks, rite?

sorry my friend but I do not understand...
I can sync my gmail, I can sync my calendar (either google calendar or s-planner, well actually s-planner is nothjing morte than a samsung wrapper around google's calendar), but I cannot sync tasks in s-planner with tasks in google calendar

to sync task from G account is always better to use GTask
this is the reason why I'm not working with G account task, but with Exchange account task
so use GTask... is answer

aha ok
no, I do not use Exchange... or better: I do at the office, but no money can push me to configure office emails/tasks/calendar on my private phone

I use calengoo. Great calendar task app.

Sync to outlook

Hi guys,
I just bought Samsung i5700. Has android 2.1. I use win 7, KIES and I can't sync my contacts and my calendar. For contacts only syncs 1080 contacts and in calendar none.
For me also interesting would be installing WinMobile 6.5 on this phone ... it's more easier solving.
Can i get an app or something to solve this?
Thanks
The most promising thing I know of is Android-Sync. It works similar to HTC sync. There's a desktop app and a phone side app. When you plug in the phone, it syncs.
It's pre-alpha right now, but it will sync contacts and single calendar entries. Recurring appointments are not yet supported. I'm waiting for that to be added and then I should be able to use it.

I have been using gSyncit ($14.99) from www.daveswebsite.com.
It syncs Outlook's contacts, calendar, tasks, and notes to/from Gmail. Notes have to free from special characters in order to sync (Google problem).
I've been using Google Calendar Sync. It requires a gmail account and had some trouble syncing older recurring appointments. but for the most part it works.
I use a program called "Go Contact Sync" for contacts... I have one contact that ir refuses to sync but it does alright for me besides that.
Both are free.

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions. I would not like to share my details with Google or gmail.
The sync works super, but it would not put more than 1080 contacts . Also, in calendar widget it would show me not today's event about to come, but events for the next days. Quite tricky .
Would be nice to finalize this android app ... would work nice, not like that stupid Samsung software
Regards

Froyo missing HTC Sync

Is there any solution to get synced with outlook/windows calendar and contact?
The focus is on google applications, so if you search for ways to sync them with google calendar etc it will sync that way.

Yes I understand even if, IMHO, they can't loose integration with M$ systems...
However I used google calendar sometimes ago trying to keep synced blackberry, nokia and outlook... it made me a lot of confusion because it duplicates calendar appointments and gave me also other problems...
Now I can give it a try again.
But, what to do to sync contacts?
I found Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook.
I'll give it a try..
If you have any other suggestion you're welcome

I tried.. it requires Google Apps Premier version.. unusable due to 40€/year subscription needed!!
So I need to find another way again.

try this: http://www.android-sync.com/
It works a lot like htc sync. It does contacts and single calendar entries. they're still working on recurring calendar events.
I'm still looking for a fully working solution.
I tried android-sync but I can't get it working. App hangs during sync and I can't have feedback about sync status.
Actually I can't believe there is no official way to get my device synced with my PC... how anyone can use the phone without contacts and calendars????
Do you think this is why froyo is not an official release?
I use gsyncit http://www.daveswebsite.com/software/gsync/ to sync outlook contacts and calendars with gmail then phone obviously syncs with the gmail server. Gsyncit works very well and is very customisable. At $15 one off cost it's a bargain in my book. (prob the first software I've actually bought)

how to sync Outlook tasks with Android phones?

Does anyone know how to sync outlook tasks with Android phones? I tried Gogtasks but that program is as buggy as hell when it comes to reoccurring tasks.
Does WP7 have better synchronisation with Outlook for appointments and tasks?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.basiliapps.tasks is doing a good job.
but I don't have an exchange account, I just use Outlook and hotmail.
I use Google calender sync http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=89955

Sense4's biggest plus is complete Outlook sync including but not limited to tasks ! I love it & the productivity skin is just amazing.
I'd love to hear about this too... I used to be a proud BB owner/user and loved how easy it was to sync everything with outlook....
It's so hard to believe that nobody wrote an app yet to do just that... if you go on google play/market you can find an app for just about anything.. even for stuff i would have never even in my wildest dream would ever imagined... but no outlook notes/tasks (OTA)... weird!!
I bet that if you search for "scratch my itch" app you'd even find that

There are many free or paid apps in Google play for synchronizing directly with Outlook.
Search for Outlook sync in Google Play.
You can try e.g. my app Local Sync which synchronizes tasks (recurrent too) and notes.
Use Tasks & Notes for MS Exchange, it is free and works fine for me.
You can find this in Google Play.
Hi, i think you can use MyPhoneExplorer
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fjsoft.myphoneexplorer.client
bye.
Is there any workaround for syncing Outlook tasks with Android over the air that still works?

Is it Is there any way to SYNC TASKS in S-Planner?

I can't see any way to sync Tasks I set up in S-Planner with any other devices or cross platforms. I know that Google Tasks don't sync (shaking head in dismay at that one).
Any ideas?
** I've done some reading across the web and it seems that the consensus is S-Planner Tasks are PURELY LOCAL and cannot be cloud synced at all. Wow, just wow. Someone needs to call Samsung and remind them it is 2012.
For now I'll stick with ToodleDo unless someone knows a better solution. S-Planner Tasks is utterly useless (seriously, how does something like this even make it out the door???) I am guessing the guy in charge of S-Planner Tasks was also the guy who choose the obscure .snb extension for S-Note files.
There is. Sync your note using activesync to either office365 or hotmail (I have msn account) and it syncs tasks. The only minor thing you need to do is if you want to add a task to a group you have to change the task to be an s task add the group and change the task to office365 or hotmail.

Yes, that was all thoroughly explained in the manual that came with the tablet - not, lol
By Hotmail, I am assuming a Live account would work? Lemme look into it. Thanks.
** Can you please explain this in further detail? I'm lost.
Ok, I see.
So if i want to sync Tasks, I have to do it using Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. I set this up in Settings and Accounts and Sync. ok, got that workings.
Now am a bit confused by the whole Groups thing. Within S-Planner there doesn't appear to be any way to add or edit Groups. can you walk me through all that?
Geesh what a convoluted mess this is. I think I would rather just stick with Toodledo - so much more robust.
** I just find it odd that there is no way to sync GOOGLE TASKS with S-PLANNER on an Android-based device. I mean, good lord. How hard can it be?

Yep.
I'm using syncin via exchange account and it works well. I'm not using Gapps so much, s it's not problem for me, but it's boring and annoying sure. S account works well with syncing task isn't?
I have a problem with syncing since 19th Oct...problem with syncing of Samsung account. Does anybody has the same problem?

Questions from a longtime XDA Member recently converting to Galaxy S8+

Hello all I have been a long time XDA member and took a leave of absence due to MS not really tailoring to Windows Phone.
I just picked up a S8+ and it is a nice device but I am struggling a bit and remembered how hopeful this site is.
Is there a single email and calendar application that can handle all my email accounts (live, office 365, work exchange)?
In addition I seem to be missing a good bit of contacts as I have my primary live account and gmail account on the device.
I can tell you this is a nice device but coming from Windows phone setup is tedious I have to figure out my facebook contact sync and WhatsApp sync as well.
Any tips from a convert would be greatly appreciated
Thanks for all your help my new family
I have been away from xda for quite sometime because I had an iPhone, switching to this phone also was a bit painful but it turned out to be easier than I thought.
You have Gmail, I'm using it for my work email (Microsoft), Hotmail, Yahoo and my Google account. It's works very nice.
As for the missing contacts, you can go to settings and accounts and add any account you want, open it, and activate contact sync. Not sure if it can sync Facebook contacts. Or you can just try from the Facebook settings
Hi there,
im using Outlook for syncing mail and calendar. However using samsung calendar app you have everything synced and good to go. Also, you can sync your exchange/office365 to show your contacts in contact list.
What have I notcied, that Microsoft have much improved their apps on Android. Take a look at BlueMail as well - it syncs gmail and office and any other mail you need.
For Facebook i'm using Metal as I hate stock facebook app.

Yeah but the native Samsung Email and Calendar apps don't grab this information. In addition adding new contacts is such a pain as you have to do it directly in the outlook app instead of the default phone/contacts app. I have had this issue numerous times.
I hope they are able to fix this as I shouldn't have to migrate all my shared calendars to google from outlook.com to be able to work with them.
Great device but these items should just work and I think it may just be a Samsung issue I am working on getting another device to test.
As amon87 said BlueMail is the way.
