Hi 2 all,
I have 2 simple questions. They are not a big problem, but they are annoying.
1. Can I sort my pictures in gallery so the last taken shot will be displayed first in Camera Shots album? I have ~500 pics, and when I want to see last one, I need to scroll down till last one
2. Automatic Brightness unchecks it self randomly... How can I prevent this from happening?
Thnx.

Mine also disables automatic brightness. I think it is after having taken a picture.
The gallery also annoys me... it's the wrong way round!

Gallery photos in wrong order
Did you get a fix to re-order Gallery photos to latest first?
No, there is no possibility to change it.
Maybe someone who has ICS ROM installed knows if it is possible to change it?

Thanks for the reply, I hope ICS gets this right.
Mine are still very blurry. I thought with the update to gmail and android they fixed the 96x96 contact picture size limit. I tried adding a high rez pic to a contact in gmail and waited for my phone to sync it and the contact pic on my phone is still super grainy. I tried adding a new photo to a contact without a pic and it still came down to my phone blurry, but the pic in gmail is crisp. Is there a fix for this other than an app or assigning the pics to contacts on the phone manually?

I've noticed this in all Sense ROMs, but everything seems to work fine on AOSP based ROMs. Which are you on?

I'm on Sense.
update:
Seems to be Sense related. If I manually assign a nice picture to a contact from the phone it stays nice even after syncing with gmail. If I do anything with the picture in gmail it changes it on my phone to a crappy pic. Must be a Sense bug since every other post about it being fixed the user is on AOSP.
I have 2 problems with MMS. Problem 1 is when I am sent a picture that has text with it the picture appears small and I cannot zoom in on the pic to see it, I must save attachment which is way to many steps in order to see a pic. If I am sent a pic by itself I can zoom it no problem. I think this problem has been asked many times so it's not my main goal of this post. My main goal is problem 2, which is MMS videos appear very small, even smaller than the pictures do when sent with text. If I were to save attachment and watch the video from my gallery it would be full screen. Why does the messaging app play it so small? Is there a way to make the messaging app use another player by default. The screen shots attaches are of picture with then without text then a video playing(smallest one.)
Hello,
Today i purchased a Google Pixel 2 XL 64GB model. I was a proud owner of the Google Pixel XL.
There is one thing bugging me on the 2 XL. Whenever i take photos using the stock camera app with the front facing camera the lighting corrects in such a weird way so photos look really weird.
This also happens with other apps like Snapchat and Instagram.
Does anyone know if i can turn off color correction for just the camera or something?
Thanks in advance!
Please upload an example of your issue.

Please see the YouTube link below - I believe they address the issue of pics taken vs. pics viewed via phone display vs. pics viewed via Instagram/Snapchat. This critique is towards the end of video

Color correction
The video didnt come close to the actual problem im having.
For example when i try to make a selfie using snapchat or instagram, before i take the picture my face has pale natural color which is perfect. when i took the picture and look it up in my Photo gallery it just looks awful.
My skin color turned greyish. This has nothing to do with the lighting in the area im in. Ive tried many different areas when taking pictures and they all result in the same weird greyish color
Pics or it didn't happen...
There is some known issue's with Pixel 2 and will be fixed by releasing patch and this would be a permanent solution.
Take a picture with hdr+ off and see if there any difference.
Here are some examples
This one is a picture before it has actually been taken, so its a preview

This is the actual saved picture

As you can see it has some difference and the saved picture just looks worse.
Another example.

Did you reboot? This is, I think, the way it works.
The Visual Core you enabled doesn't work for the viewfinder preview in non-stock-camera apps, and I'm not sure it ever will.
Either turn hdr off in these apps if you prefer the blown-out look, or use the stock app and add to instagram app

I have no idea how to turn off hdr off for specified apps like instagram or snapchat
I honestly don't see the issue in your samples. The only thing I noticed is that you're using snap chat which takes terrible low resolution photos. That night be one reason why the image looks so bad.
its a problem of snapchat, try taking pic in instagram with pixel core on , instagram, facebook, twitter take awesome photos but snapchat its a trash

But thats weird isnt it? i mean if it worked fine on my google pixel XL...
I downgraded to an older version of snapchat and now the quality is fine again!
Running Android 10. I just changed a contact photo to a high resolution image. About a min later they called me, and their caller ID showed a low resolution version of that image. How do I keep the high resolution images for contacts?
I have same issue android 10 stable...
May the power of Oneplus 7 Pro be with you
the problem appeared with Android 10. On Pie it was a high resolution picture.
Good to know it's not just me. I spent what felt like a few hours trying to figure this out yesterday
something interesting....if you install the google contacts app, look at the contact within the app. at first the pic is low res then it seems to download a high res image. after that the contact pics within the oneplus contacts app are high res

Dude, thanks for this post! I was looking everywhere and no one had a particular answer that worked!
In my case, I have a Galaxy S10+ and the Samsung Contacts app wasn't downloading the pics in HD, once I installed the Contacts app from Google, it did downloaded the high resolution image and I went back to Samsung Contacts and all pics were in high resolution as well!
Thank you so much!
