I admit I was a stupid stupid man and jumped ship and went from a samsung phone to an "LG Thrill" on my last ATT upgrade (because it was free) and now I know why......... I will never own another LG phone as long as I live!!!!! What a POS that was. It is so bad ATT doesn't even want the Thrill back!!!! And it works other than the fact it sends calls straight to voicemail 3 out of 10 calls......Just wanted to say I am glad to be back somewhere that everything makes more sence and the mods have it going on.............Peace

LG often makes phones with such good specs, but their software is a disaster. It's tough to beat Samsung nowadays.
Its all preference. My sister has had 3 and no problems thus far. I like phones with high popularity because of the mods. That's why I got a Sammy. Really want the next nexus device, without even knowing the details of course. But they always have great developers and I love cm. I'd get a lg phone if they made one worthy.

Back on the LG phones though, they're ok; not as good as Samsung, but adequate and good build quality. My wife left her P500 on the boot of her car, it went flying when she went around a corner and hit the sidewalk at pace. And it still works just fine afterwards
I haven't had a lot of hands on time with the Galaxy Note so I don't know a whole lot about it. I pretty much just want to know if it is a good tablet for school work. I was thinking about getting the Asus Infinity but I work at Best Buy and Samsung has a deal with us where we can get the Galaxy Note for $250 and I think it is a $500 tablet so that seems like a good deal to me...
Should I jump on the deal or get something else?

The note 10.1 is absolutely great for school. Go check Samsung's full hands on video on it and the wealth of reviews on its functionalities.
Maybe i can make a short comparison between my Note 10.1 and my Original Asus Transformer TF101. I know the OG TF101 is a previous generation behind but apparently i read somewhere that some components like the I/O used in the Infinity is the same? Correct me if im wrong.
For daily use:
Keyboard- The N10.1 software keyboard is so so much more responsive!! I was very pleasantly surprised upon switching from my TF. Not sure about the Infinity.
Multitasking- You cant beat N10.1 on this. FIrstly, switching between apps is very fast. It doesnt hang or stall. My TF was a little laggier at this. The splitscreens, pop-up play and mini apps are awesome! No complains about that
Browser- Samsung stock browser is well known for being smooth and responsive. Surfing on my N10.1 is definitely a better experience!
S-Pen- Mind blowing note taking and drawing functionalities on N10.1. It honestly feels like a real pen. If you intend to use it for notes in classes, you will constantly appreciate it for how convenient it has made your life. You can easily rip out things you need from webpages and searches and plonk them into your notes. There is a plethora of features that really wowed me.
Speaker- Front facing speakers on the N10.1 really provides great audio for songs and videos.
Anyway,you should check out the thread on Note vs Infinity and the videos on youtube to better associate your actual usage with the tablet. When i first saw the hands on videos by Samsung, I knew i had to get it
the whole GALAXY to NOTE about...counting down from 10 to 1.

Good to know. It's no longer trepidation, it's health. Want to be well so I don't muck things up.
Method I or 2?
It will only get better once the Jellybean OTA is released (soon) and we get all the Note II functionality.
I used 2 because i like having cwm and use triangle away. and also because method one is close to a 1gb file and was taking long compared to the 6mb method 2 file

Best Buy employee's can buy the tablet for $450 and then Samsung has a $200 mail in rebate for Best Buy employee's as well. $250 total savings.

Starting this thread to discuss all about GS4 and its availability in India!! One stop shop for all the info.
As samsung has already informed S4 will have a global launch, so we can expect it very soon in our Indian market from the date of launch..
The device is expected to ship in coming month, April. So many street retailers will ship the device at launch time. Officially, the date is not given for India.
So guys chip your thoughts about the Galaxy S4.

Yes, under the 40k bracket, but you never know street prices for unofficial launched units.
S3 is 25k here in Mumbai.

Alright. I'll be moving from an iPhone 4 (yep.. that old). I have no preference between this and the HTC One.
I've been using the 16gb for a while and I know I'll be fine with the 32gb on both phones. The micro SD isnt important. Both have OTG.
I like the design on the HTC a lot more.
The battery life is important for me though. I dont see myself carrying an extra battery though.. unless the one in the phone wears out.
On my current phone, an hour of gaming uses up ~20% of the battery.. An hour of video playback on medium brightness uses up a bit over 10%.
The One X did really poorly on gaming.. The S3 did alright..
Could you guys give me an idea how the S4's battery is likely to perform.
That'll probably be the deciding factor for me.

Reading the octa core big.LITTLE concept and the massive 2600 mAh battery it will ship with, the S4 will keep you pretty happy in terms of battery.
S4 again will ouput raw power while the HTC One will take some hit due to heavily embedded Sense framework.

Most reviews seem to suggest Sense 5 is heavily toned down.. But I agree.. the bigger battery is a bonus. and the 4+4 should, in theory, be more efficient..
If Samsung hadnt gone for the hyper glazed back, it wouldve been an easy decison.. Probably the same if HTC had gone with a 2600 mah battery.
As it is, I'm confused. Battery life takes precedence though..

I tend to lose or break my phones. Had the Samsung Galaxy S for a long time and was very satisfied with it until I broke it sort of recently. Then I decided to wait for the SGS4 instead of getting the S3 right away.

Coming from hTC Incredible S (and HTC HD2 before that) to the Galaxy S 4 - I think this will be a worthy upgrade.
I'm not sure yet what I will do with my old phone, maybe give sell it to my wife, or I may eBay it like I normally do to part fund the new phone...
If I eBay it, I know it will create another noob in the Inc S XDA forum who will then go and post without reading first, and ask how to root/S-Off/flash ROMs (even though it is rooted and s-off already), and it'll annoy everyone as every other thread in there recently is a variation of these questions which were sticky'd over 2 years ago!!! (yeah - I'll eBay it then!! )

My opinion S5 all de way!!
I think better GALAXY S5
It's totally your choice.
LG G3 has QHD display and a decent battery life, buy this phone if you watch movies, play games and surf a lot. It also has one of the best mobile camera. Lolllipop update has been started rollung on both the phones buy The GalaxyS5 if you want a phone with Samsung legacy, TouchWiz, fingerprint sensor(cheated right) and water resistance(cheated too).
But I will suggest you Nexus 6, since you will get new updates earliest and it also has upgraded chipset:thumbup:

You can also have a look at the One Plus One, it has all what you need. It has the Cyanogen OS, so it is filled with tweaks. It has a decent camera and a good battery life. Plus it is cheaper than its counterparts.

wondering what the best way to root for my sprint galaxy s5 ? I do not have a working computer right now, and I've already tried towel root, and installing cyanogemod 12.1 from my Sd card, any suggestions ?
