Most stable Jelly bean Rom - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey guys,
Just stuck at ICS and no vision from verizon from when we can get JB for S3.
Just thinking of getting it rooted and on my phone. but just want to know which is the most stable Jelly bean rom out there ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm new to rooting and everything so I haven't had that many roms but Aokp has the most customization, its the most stable.. it's been 2 solid months and not a thing has gone wrong. I tried paranoid android and I couldn't do half the stuff I do with aokp.. Cm10 looks good but I haven't tried it yet. If I was u I would go with aokp build 4..U can't go wrong don't forget the jb gapps also..
Sent from gs3..

So aokp built 4 is a jekly bean Rom ? Also how's the battery on the thing

Yeah,, jelly bean.. It eats it up, but then again so does everything.. GS3 batteries suck.. I got a hyperion extended battery off ebay for 20/30 bucks and it last 1 1/2,,2 days on one charge.

And do the GPS and the 4g LTE work fine for you ?
Thanks for your help man
much appreciated

I love liquid smooth, its been great for me. Everything has been working flawlessly no errors or anything. GPS, 4G, bluetooth, NFC, etc all work fine So i'd say its pretty darn stable, and its AOSP jelly bean. I've also heard great things about incubus's jellywiz rom if you'd rather have touchwiz jelly bean.

I'm not sure what eats up your battery but i can get a days use out of mine easily. ***By days use i mean from when i wake up in the morning, go to work, go to school, go to the gym, go do other stuff, and then come home and mess around with my phone more*** i can get 3-4 hours screen on time which is plenty for me.

Yes they work great.

Samsung just had a press release a couple days ago that the US GS3's will have jelly bean rolling out in the "coming months". Since VZW sucks at getting updates out in a timely fashion im gonna guess by Jan we should have the OTA.
As for the most stable JB rom I would go with Eclipse. Its pretty awsome and its coming from a awsome well known developer. I am running the Oct 15th nightly and everything works great. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934572

Preview/Test Rom :P

So I'm opening this thread here for two reasons...one because I will eventually throw a test build out here as this is in alpha stages even if the video shows otherwise lol and 2 because I know most of you guys are like "erikmm is a bum he hasn't put out a new rom or an update to his roms in over 12 hrs " lol.
So this is a sneak preview of what I've been working on so far behind the scenes.
It's a port of the whole Value Pack from Sammy to the i9000... since they don't want to give us a Value Pack I took it upon myself to give us the Value Pack we deserve. Ok ok I know most of you guys didn't even read my little rant and are watching the youtube video. Lol
Well here it is:
Edit: the videos it previews or suggest are f'n hilarious lol
Downloads will eventually come up here as soon as I hit the beta stages.
So far:
I finally got /data to work *not the actualy internet as I can't even test that lol *
I can now install apps and have them save to the /data/app/ destination and
of course that means wifi is working
wtf man!

Question
Does that include the BIG Ram optimization from the I9000 which leaves almost 300 MB free on the stock Rom?

Once you have a base rom like cm7 its easy to port roms. Easy being a simple word in this case. You still have to run debug logs but a lot of it is copying from one rom to the other. There are several guides out that explain how to port the various roms. Search the main android development thread you will find the guides posted there.

eollie,
You can't port BML roms with a cm7 base. Just FYI, so that doesn't work for this situation.

Dont think Im taking away from what you are doing. I know your not doing these port exactly how the guides suggest. I was just saying using cm7 for a base makes it about 75% easier to port. Seeing as how you dont have to convert samsung proprietary things.

Frustration

There are issues with the stock ICS leak from BAMF. Too many to list and well-known here.
Liquid ICS (JMOD or original) is pure AOSP amazing - and I'm a Sense guy. But I rely on this phone for work email and I cannot have it blank out on me as often as it does. That and not being able to video my children is a deal breaker for me.
Newt's Sense 4 port is simply gorgeous and does nearly everything perfectly. However, the wifi isn't working and I know it is driving him crazy. I work deep in a cell signal black hole and I can't live without wifi. That and the camera again makes me reluctantly pull away from that one. I LOVE Sense 4, though.
Amazing work these devs have done. And once you have ics, its hard to go back. Thanks, all.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
From one TB user to another who loved GB 2.3.4 and previous - yes the no video camera is a disappointment but Liquid is working to get it to work properly, as for Team BAMF - I pulled away due to the overhaul in Ram usage from Sense 3.6, I'm happy to be back on old school Android similar to that of the OG MotoDroid, the AOSP project is great. And with that, it's good to have such a powerful rom with such minimal usage compared to Sense.

I have few issues with the BAMF leak, it works better for me than any other ICS ROM but, having said that, the battery life is not all that good and I'm back on Virus' Infected ROM.
Personally, I'll wait until the official ROM arrives and the devs can work with the correct parts to build one, until then I'm happy with a GB ROM and sense 3.5.
I see absolutely NO reason to run ICS, the difference between Sense 3.5 and Sense 3.6 is miniscule.
When the devs have a ICS or JB ROM with Sense 4.0 I'll give it another shot, not until.

Santods nusense is pretty damn smooth dude. It's the only Rosie to date that has ever been so smooth. Out of all the roms based on the leak it is the best so far in my opinion. The battery life isn't close to liquids but this Rom is pretty solid especially considering its still a beta.

It's not bad at all. Like I said. It's the smoothest sense Rom I've used. Plus you can kill any apps that are running by holding home and swiping them away but I can understand if you like liquid smooth. I'm thinking about going back to it because its so good. The problem I have with beta roms is having to flash over and over to get all the fixes.

I'm not doubting it. I liked infected Rom a lot and I can bet you this will be the best 3.6 Rom we will have on the thunderbolt and I like to try everything for a little while. I like aosp more than sense most of the time but there were some minor annoyances with cm7 for me so I used infected most of the time. Liquid ics is way better than cm7 though and doesn't have those annoyances.

I hate that I have to be so vague with things being a tester, and I'm sure it gets annoying hearing only limited information, but I do it all in good intentions to keep people posted and happy without ruining any excitement for the developers come release time. They did announce that feature pack update, plus on release the device was given its 2GB of ram just for future support of new android versions.
My guess is it will get 4.2.1 official, but that will be the end of OTA. I have a feeling though CM and AOSP roms will be around for a while. Too many people have the US models of the GS3's, and due to the fact MOST of the code is similar between devices, it should not be hard to keep them all going as long as theres someone who cares to work on them.

The development hasn't stop just slowed down. There are 4 new ports and some of the older roms have moved on to 4.2(mainly CM,liquid smooth and slim bean). The other roms are still being updated. There is also a new ROM based on 4.2 called Pure Google. Team Baked is working on a 4.2 based ROM.

I think the word we're looking for here is "sarcasm"

As a backup to my S3 I have a Samsung Fascinate & just put JB 4.2 on it. If there is still development for a now antique phone, you really don't have to worry about the S3 not having development for a long time to come.

Grab some do it yourself links and start cranking out builds to get our development back up.

I was looking this up, and found that MIUI Kitkat builds for the official MIUI phones (ie MI2/MI3) are coming out around spring time ish. It'll be a little while until they come to our phones.
Yes miui will be nice on the n5

Yeah ,if they come to miuis official phones ,at spring ,it will probably be ready on that time for us too .Nexus 5 rocks ,for a short time ,it'll get so much support by ROMs .I am waiting the Ubuntu Touch

I use to like MIUI and what I thought it stood for. Now Its just like of like a big slap in the face using it. Back in the gingerbread days though, man, it really was something else.

On my Droid Incredible and Fascinate back in 2011, it was awesome. I haven't found a stable MIUI rom on any phone since then. It used to be a great option to have, but it's outlived its usefulness at this point.
MIUI innovates

Aww I do remember my friend (at the time I didn't even have a smart phone) had the droid X and got MIUI on it. I Once I got my Gs2 I dual booted with MIUI v4 but I didn't really like it, I mean it was cool but it lacked a lot of things on different ROMs. Once I tried MIUI v5 on my Nexus 4, there was no going back though, by this time they had developed a lot of new features, and then now with xposed framework being able to run on it, it has all the features of all the other ROMs but also is stable and has unique features of its own. So while it may have stood out more in the past I think people have much more of a reason to switch now.
