[Q] Please explain what the icons mean on Boot screen - Asus Transformer TF700

When Vol Down and Power buttons are pressed together to "cold boot" the device, there are 4 icons displayed (this is after stock JB update). They are RCK, Android logo, USB logo, and Wipe Data Logo. I know what the last logo "wipe data" mean, duh. But what are the first three icons do?

RCK = recovery (I used this to reinstall the firmware when my tab was softbricked)
android = cold boot
usb = fastboot (requires unlocked device)

sometimes nand cache is messed up so what you an do is:
-switch off the phone completely
-Hold camera down + power button
Once you have the android toon with exclaimation mark
-press up and down simultaneously
-Once you get to stock recovery, just wipe cache and data (factory reset)
And you'll have no more bootloops

Stuck at Google Logo - HELP

Hi Guys, I'm in a bit of a panic with my Nexus.
Looked in my pocked yesterday and the phone was randomly in a boot loop, just getting up to the google logo, then rebooting.. this was weird as the phone was working throughout the day. The day before I had installed Faux v5 (and I have cataclysms rom)..
Followed the instructions from [TUTORIAL] How to flash a factory image | Return to stock | Unroot your Nexus 5
to rever to stock image.
I run the flash-all.bat (using method 1 from Post1), which seems to complete successfully (writes to the device and it reboots a few times), but after this the phone gets stuck at the Google logo,
I cant get to the final two steps (which is wipe data/factory data reset), because in the step before where I select recovery, it just boots back to the google logo - no recovery. It will stay there all day, unless I hold power & volume down, then I can get back to the bootloader.
Since this failed (I have flashed the flash-all batch twice using different usb ports... but no joy.
If I run the fastboot device info, - it correctly shows my bootloader is unlocked...
I have tried to relock it, but hit the same problem, (if I run the fastboot boot c:\twrp.img etc) - it just wont boot into a recovery..
I am at a loss.. any help would be greatly appreciated...
I have also tried flashing a custom recovery (twrp & cwm), and I have the same problem with both.. they flash, but then I can get to the bootloader, but cant launch a recovery.. just gets stuck in a bootloop...
THANKS!
reboot bootloader (power + vol down)
go into recovery (the red triangle)
open up the recovery menu (power + vol up)
wipe cache
The problem I am having is I cant get into recovery.
I get into fastboot mode, I then hit volume up twice (to change from start > to recovery >).
I then hit power. But instead of a red! I get the Google Logo.. and I am back where I started.
Volume up & power does nothing, all I can do is Vol down & power, then I am back at the bootloader.. no recovery..

[Q] Katkit 4.4.2#019 bootlop on reboot & lost TWRP

Hi, first great thanks ton Tim for this rom,
when i reboot the rom, (power only) bootlop, rom start only with vol- & power (coldboot), vol- + power (10sec) and vol+ don't start TWRP
do i reinstall TWRP ?
i installed KK4.4.2#019 with succes (from 4.0. root stock), i made full wipe (SYSTEM, CACHE, DALVIK CACHE, DATA, INTERNAL STORAGE), installed roms & gapps, and wipe cahce & dalwik cache again.
Thanks for your advice
Lets answer a few questions to see where you are at:
1 - What happens when you just hold the POWER button for 10-12 seconds. Screen should go blank and reboot. When it reboots, does it get to the KatKiss animation, or boot to TWRP, or get stuck on the Eee Pad Logo?
2 - When holding VOL DOWN and POWER for 12-15 seconds and then you wait, do you see the 2 icons (Android and WIPE)? Do not select either, just let it boot to Android and see if it boots (this is a cold boot).
3 - When you press VOL DOWN and POWER for 12-15 seconds and then hit VOL UP when you see the small white text about RCK, does it boot to TWRP?
4 - What version of TWRP are you running?

The problems seems to be solved, after coldboot i let my pad for few hours on line and when i came back yesterday night to use it everythings work fine, no bootlop with power button and twrp 2.6.3.0 start.
i think i had reboot too early while gapps didn't have finished to be install.
Ps : A great thanks to you for "frederuco guide to root & flash", a clear guidance, consise and very precise.

Okay so after doing a couple days research and listening to you guys, I found out when I rooted I didn't flash a recovery... So yeah I installed CWM recovery and then wiped cashe partision and it worked. When I wiped it, it came up saying to "fix root" as I may have lost in then I clicked yes then booted straight away. That's it fixed now.
Thank you for your help everyone!

When the phone is rebooting, press and hold power down, you'll then get into Fastboot. From there, go to Recovery using the volume down key and when selected, press the volume up to select. If it tries to install the update again, don't let it reboot into the ROM - when the recovery restarts itself, make sure you hold volume down again.

It doesn't work it just keeps rebooting and coming up with the "bootloader unlocked" screen after itself
1. With the phone powered off, press the VOL UP + VOL DOWN KEY together + POWER KEY .
2. The device will display different BOOT OPTIONS
3. Use the VOL DOWN Key to SCROLL to Recovery and VOL UP Key to SELECT
Tip: If the device reboots, you may have waited to long to make a selection, you will need to begin the process again.
4. The device will display the Motorola logo and then the Android in distress ( logo with Exclamation mark)
5. Press and hold the VOL DOWN key, then tap and release the VOL UP key.
Tip: You can try this step, holding the phone in landscape. If you are stuck on step 5, try a force reboot by pressing the power Key and Vol Down key, and start the process again.
6. The device will display additional menu options (Text will appear in BLUE)
7. Use the VOL DOWN Key to scroll to wipe cache partition and the POWER Key to SELECT this option.
8. The device will then perform the partition wipe
9. Once the Formatting is complete, press the POWER key to confirm a REBOOT
11. The device will reboot and start the normal power up sequence .
worked for me.....

Still none the wiser how to update to 4.4.4 though! I mean surely with a rooted phone there is an app to do it these days???
u can try this
if you have unlock bootloader and can go to fastboot mode,.try to flash your moto g using your 4.4.2 stock rom by manually (you can search how to do it),.flash partition gpt and motoboot (ignore the error),reboot bootloader and finished the rest command..flash phil touch recovery and reboot ro recovery,go to install zip, choose install zip from sideload then send your phone update using sideload command.
that"s solved my problems when i'm getting stuck on blank screen after unlock bootloader warning or only booting to recovery,i'm on 4.4.2 when get that error.
but now in my case,i should go to fastboot mode and choose normal powerup to make my phone booting normally,.because if i'm power on using power button, moto g booting to recovery, not a big deal for me as long as my phone back to the track hehehe
my moto g is o2 germany, but i'm flashing with 4.4.2 germany retail and 4.4.4 update for germany retail.

Boot loop with giant off centered Samsung logo after flashing

Flashed stock firmware using Odin v3.12.7 (had Noble ROM before) which passed and then rebooted. Blue screen with Android guy installing apps > Same screen but this time just says "Erasing..." > Regular centered Samsung logo > Larger off centered logo
I've waited for 30 mins and nothing has happened
Tried flashing with Odin again
Cannot access recovery mode using Vol up + home + power
Can't find S/N number (press home button in download options and goes to download mode instead and don't have original box)
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Force to turn recovery mode then wipe data cache and dalvik.
I wiped data cache and dalvik....that wasn't successful.
In desperation, I did a factory reset via the Samsung recovery menu...
That did the trick

"wipe data, cache and dalvik" that mean that "factory reset" But in stock recovery menu you cannnot do it separatly, there are just options from wipe cache and wipe dalvik and factory reset what mean that also will wipe data
