[REQUEST][MOD][CleanROM2.1+] - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi all.
I love the smoothness of the stock TouchWiz launcher. But one thing I absolutely hate is the FOLDERS.
The manila folders are hideous IMO.
I was wondering if somebody could mod a TouchWiz launcher, 5x5 to have the circle-style folder icons like the ones found in Nova and Apex launchers, with a stacked preview of the apps inside, preferably.
Would greatly appreciate if anyone could make this happen!!
Cheers,
ED :highfive:

Was pretty happy with an app called Folder Organizer. Make your folder look however you want, make your app look however you want and stack apps in folders by label. For $2 you can't go wrong with this app.

+1 on that I've been using folder organizer to completely replace my app drawer through 3 phones...then that plus desktop visualizer you can really customize everything

Cool!
Never heard of this app before. Downloaded it and replaced the folder icons with ICS colored blue squares. Looks much nicer.
Thank you for the info!

Creating folders with honeycomb

Hey guys and gals,
Could not find a topic on this when it came to the Transformer and Honeycomb. What applications are you all using to creating folders with honeycomb? I have not found any thus far that seem to fit the bill for me so thought I would ask the masses.

I think the OP meant app folders on the homescreen. File Manager HD is great, but it doesn't do that. I'm just trying out Simi Folder Widget, but it's too soon for me to say if it's any good.
I've been using apps organizer. Open the app and organize your apps into the categories/labels. Then on home screen you add each as a widget.

+1 on that! It interacts nicely with other apps and is regularly updated!
I didn't get why honeycomb doesn't use folders.. but i guess its okay
I've been using Circle Launcher, but I think i should try others as well, because the circle launcher icon just isn't that pretty.

I use Folder Organizer on my phone, and love it. AM trying it on the tablet, but I'm having it FC when I try to set an icon on Labels (FO's name for folders).
ADW EX Launcher
I would love to have a folder on my home screen that maps to a certain location on my internal/external storage. That way I could store documents in a certain folder in my SD card or storage, and just have a shortcut to them.
Doesn't seem possible with any of the apps listed thus far.

Hey guys, just figured I should let you guys know there is a beta for folder organizer 3.4 available from their website (not the Market) that is optimized for Honeycomb. It shows as being used on a Xoom but I'm using it now on my Tab 10.1 without any issues, figure it should work fine for you guys too.

Why not just resize your homescreen grid to hold more apps and put all your apps on scrollable homescreens? With adw you can even make the dock disappear all together to make more room for app icons.
Sent from my cm7 Aria.
For.example the go launcher has a perfect app depot with recently used apps and running apps in tab style thats what i love and want.

Use ADW or LauncherPro and change settings so it won't close App Drawer when you open a new app.
Check if MIUI is available for your device, its does not have a app draw.

as said above .. Miui is pretty similar to iphone .. no Apps Drawer .. everything is on the main screen ... and its very fast ..

I suggest the same. also set number of home screens to (1). plus since you don't like the home screen, change the settings so that when you press the home button it pulls up your app drawer.

@Mylenthes: Didn´t you read my first post? I like android, but i like the iphone appearance and the GoLauncher has additionally a super Tab-styled surface --> I have the Galaxy Tab with Android 2.3.3, The GoLauncher installed and now i want reduce it to the Drawer/App Depot
@Nexus 4G: The same like fifarunnerr. There isn´t a option except "Open/Close the App drawer" but i want only "Open the app drawer".
Thx a lot

@OP- I'm not sure you really have an option... Even if u switched to miUI, u would have several homescreens instead of one app drawer. Your going to have to sacrifice. and yes the open/close app drawer is the option I were referring too. I've never seen a rom/preference to completely remove your home screens... Sry bredrin )-:

I have lost an app when moving it to the trash can by mistake and tapping Cancel. Goto Settings, Applications and force stop it. Then restart vLauncher and the app should be back. I would like to see the developer pick this app up and do some updating.

Lock screen

Anyone know of any lock screen apps or mods that will show my battery charging percent. My current rom only shows a lightning bolt. I would like a percent number.
Thanks.

I'm loving MiLocker and it's free in ghe Market. There are also hundreds of different lockscreens that can be loaded into it.
Attached a pic of my Lockscreen using MiLocker.
Yup, that's what my lockscreen looks like. Swipe the center down to unlock. Left side to open the Dialer and Right side to open SMS.

Is there a way to either remove the language on the milocker cos there isn't a setting where you can choose your preferred language for date and time. Not hating on Chinese, but I'd prefer everything to be consistently in english. Thx

You can edit the lockscreen, it's a zip without the zip extension.
Or keep looking, there are a lot of English only lockscreens.
Look for one called Ash Bolt. I'll list more when I get home.

Perfect thx. As far as editing goes, what tools are needed? I'll also look into the suggested one.

Here are a couple. The one named FivePoint_eng will show up in MiLocker as Testing. I never went back in to change it.
Do not rename, just copy each one to the MIUI/theme folder on the sdcard.
Ash Bolt comes with it's own wallpaper, but you can change it in the MiLocker menu. Five Points does not have it's own wallpaper.

You need to unzip the .mtz file, then unzip the lockscreen file, inside you'll find a file called manifest.xml. That's the one that you'll need to edit to make it English only.
When you unzipped the mtz there was a file called description.xml, that's where the name of the lockscreen is located plus someother info.
Then just zip each back up working in reverse.

Update: okay I have the testing theme set and running well. Thx again for those. As for doing the language edit, failed miserably with that. I guess I just need to get schooled a little on zipping those files back into .mtz file formats. The couple of times I tried it, the theme doesn't show up on my SD card. Back to the drawing board for me.

Looking for a launcher

I am looking for a launcher which merges the home screens and app drawer. I want something where I have my home screens, but rather than press the app drawer button simply swipe to the side to find all my apps. Does this kind of launcher exist?
MIUI works like that.
And post this **** to Q & A
Yes search for TSF Shell Pro 3D v1.5.0.03 it's an awesome launcher.:good:
Maybe try the above rom. It's like I phone. It is annoying that Android have an app drawer. In fact it's stupid. But I guess it's a patent by Apple

But, it is not really a question - more relevant here I feel as it is to do with apps. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I've tried MiHome. It does what I want, other than the fact you can't organise applications alphabetically.

Use Nove Launcher.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium App
That's the same launcher I'm looking for.... and I found it!
Apex Launcher.
What you need to do, is make folders and organize them into categories.
Then you put all the Apps in there.
You create the amount of Homescreens you want, and fill in with any Widgets you want.
You make the dock with your most used Apps... hold and click on "Gestures".
You make "Swipe Up" to "Show App Drawer".
Make any other UI changes, and voila!
PM back if you want more info/instructions.

[Q] Sense 4 Apex Folder Background/Dock Background

I am trying to find the Sense 4.0 folder background & Sense 4.0 dock backround to use with Apex/CM10 and I am having no luck.
I know Apex allows you to select a custom folder background but I can't find the Sense 4.0 folder background image anywhere...can anyone extract these images from Sense for me...I hate the default folder backgrounds on Apex...so ugly!
I know this is a Q&A type thing but it's about themeing so maybe this is an acceptable place to put this? Please forgive me if not...

Is it possible to add touchwiz Jelly Bean folder (round platform) and/or opening animation to apex or another Launcher?
What I did was extracted the folder icon from the drawable folder of HTCs Rosie launcher .apk. Then you just choose a custom folder in the folder settings of Apex and select the icon from the gallery.
