[Q] Verizon G Tab 7.7 on AT&T network?? - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The Verizon store is the only place locally that i can find the G Tab 7.7. I am currently using AT&T.. Can i get a sim card from AT&T and put this tablet on my ATT service plan?
Sorry for the noob question. This will be my first tablet.

No you can't. The Verizon tabs are CDMA and ATT run on GSM network. You need to get the P6800 model. You can find it over at Negri Electronics. The tab is unlocked and ready to go. Otherwise just go for the wifi version.

Verizon is a store, they will happily sell you a product at full price with no contract. It might be worthless to you as it is Verizon tagged and coded to operate on the Verizon network though.
The question is: what country are you in and can the phone legally be shipped to that country?
thanks for your reply. im waiting for the 3G version to come.. CAN'T WAIT
I think verizon will add extra 200$ on the price.it's too much!!
Is there any other store that will lunch 3g model? And is there any date for the lunch?

[Q] Flash a Verizon Galaxy S3 to run on Sprint (particularly Ting) w/ a donor?

Hi there,
I just ordered a verizon galaxy s3 and am planning to flash it to work on ting (sprint mvno). I also ordered a samsung m370 just in case I need a donor phone.
Any good guides/tips to start looking at? Will I need to go get cdma workshop?
NOTE: I'm not too worried about not having LTE, I'm expecting that. My goal is to have one phone that runs on ting when I'm in the us, and can pop in a gsm sim card when I travel abroad.
Thanks in advance!
It would be my recommendation to use cdma workshop. May not have a lot of posts on here but I've been doing this stuff for years.

[Q] Samsung galaxy s5 gt 19700

Hi everybody, my wife has this Samsung galaxy s5 gt-19700 that she purchased when she was out of the country to India. I went to a T-Mobile store to have it activated and for some reason I was told that it cannot be activated because the device was not manufactured to work with the U.S networks. I google this device and there seems to be no report about it here in the states. Does anybody have this, and if so, is the fellow at T-Mobile pulling my legs about activating this device.
Any comment will be greatly appreciated
Its a fake Galaxy S5. The model number for Galaxy S5 is SM-G900, and for a T-Mob variant its SM-G900T.
If your wife bought it in India then there's a high chance it'll be optimised for India's/standard GSM or CDMA networks. US networks are different to India's and so the T-Mobile guy's probably right in saying it can't be activated on their network
Im going to buy An Galaxy S5 after 2 days...... is it a good idea? Btw i live in India.

Thnx., it was too good to be true/genuine device, but she used it while she was over there. Anyways, thanks for the info. I will have to toss it in the trash where it belong.

eSIM = not locked to a carrier?

I have a Verizon model Great S2, never activated, only used via BT. Can it be activated in T-Mobile? Do I need to get it unlocked?
Thanks.
I also have the Verizon model and was told the same but not sure since I myself haven't tried to activate the watch.

I'm also wondering about the radio. Do the different models have different modems, and since the Verizon one has a CDMA modem, is it incompatible with T-Mobile bands?
If you look at Network Mode you'll see WCDMA/GSM (auto connect) so I'm guessing you could, I would check to see if yours is the same, which I wouldn't be surprised if it was. I have a 2nd hand Gear S2 that was bought from TMO. Then again, what do I know since I was too chicken to buy a Verizon one to find out before buying the one I have.
OK, I live chatted with Samsung and called their support phone line. According to both, the carrier versions are carrier locked, and cannot be unlocked. So, no switching between carriers. They told me I'll need to buy another Gear S2 if I want to move to another carrier.
If the Verizon version is capable of LTE then it should be carrier unlocked out of the box just like their phones. It was part of the stipulation for them to be able to buy the extra spectrum they bought a while back.

Anyone tried to Verizon Gear S2 on a GSM network (AT&T or T-mobile)?
Just bought a Gear S2 for $99 refurbished and thinking maybe I should have bought GSM because or worldwide compatibility.
None of the Gear S2 have LTE which is carrier compatible. Verizon Sprint have CDMA 3G and AT&T and T-Mobile have GSM 3G.

Same here, saw the android police article and bought a Verizon one to replace my wife's broken fitbit. Im wondering how much more I'll have to pay monthly or to activate.
Can it be used on a sister company of version like straight talk

I attempted it yesterday, apperantly verizons model doesn't have an esim number so it can't be used.

I activated my S2 Verizon on Page Plus. Put a $10 pin on it that will last 120 days.
$0.10/min talk, $0.05 text, $0.10 meg data.
Given my experience with the Gear S this is enough for my needs when I'm occasionally without my phone.
jb
JB can you say more on how you got it activated I'm on Page Plus? Something like that would be perfect for me. Just order a T-mobile S2 Classic. Thanks.
