[Q] Setting password for wifi tethering without 3G - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I've installed KSWebServer on GT-P6810 to host some web pages.
I've installed tethering widget to activate the Wifi Acces Point, and it works, I can connect Galaxy S2 and other mobile phones to visit my web pages hosted by the Tab.
But unfortunately, iPhone can't connect because they want absolutely to send a password to connect to Wifi.
On the Tab 7.7 (3.2 / HTJ85B P6210XXLB4), there is no menu to wireless access point settings, like on the Galaxy S2.
- How can I set a password for Access Point on this Android 3.2 ?
- If not possible, does Android 4.0x make it possible ?
Thanks

wifi hotspot tether android to android

Dear friends
I have samsung galaxy tab android and another android phone from spice mobile india.I want to tether this two devices. Can any one show me the light please.i dont know if the indian android phone has built in wifi hot spot system.
wifi tether
If you have rooted your phone you could give the app wifi tether a try, I've been able to connect a couple of devices with it.
Tethering
Hi,
this should not be complicated. On the android phone setup the wifi hot spot and this will simply be seen as a wifi router by the tablet. It actually does not matter what devices or operating system you are using on the client side.
Cheers,
Checklist
Not obviously for all. To use wifi hotspot, need to - enable data 3G/H (or 2G) on the rooted device
- enable wifi hotspot tethering on the rooted device (by an apps or an internal function)
- get the password and the name of the hotspot and write it on a paper
- on the client device, connect to the hotspot and write the password
- done
If your phone havent native tether you can install wifi tether from play store

[Q] How to use my iPhone to get 3G connection to my TF700

Do you know if there is a way to use my iPhone to have internet access on my TF700 when outside wifi network ?
(I made some search but found only android phone with android tablet, not between iOS and Android)
On IOS 5 you can just go to Settings --> Personal Hotspot. Turn that to on and it should turn your iPhone into a WiFi Hotspot, which your tablet can detect. Be sure to change the settings and all to your preferences (password is a useful idea.)
I imagine it works similar on any other variant of IOS, but I've only had access to IOS5.

[Q] [Help} Note 10.1 Adhoc

My goal is to use my PC's Ethernet connection as the source for internet on my Galaxy Note 10.1.
I am using Ubuntu 12.10 on my computer. I can go to Network > Use as hot spot > Change the settings to ad hoc, ect.
The PC 'connects' to this network, thus I know it is 'on'.
When I browse the listed Wifi networks on the tablet, the hot spot is not found.
Nor can I manually add the information in 'add a wireless network' (with and without security)
Nor do WifiAnalyzer or SmartWiFi Scanner detect the hot spot.
I have other devices I thought I'd try. My Galaxy Nexus (4.1.2) cannot find it. My Notion Ink Adam (4.1.1) cannot find it.
Interestingly, my Motorola Droid OG (2.3.7) CAN see it, and connect to it!
I have read that ICS and above have had ad hoc support taken out of the wpa_supplicant file located in 'system/bin/'.
I have tried several replacement files, but none have even successfully turned wifi back on (yes, rebooting after replacing).
Note: I do not want to tether internet from my phone to the tablet. I can already do this. I want to use my PC (running Ubuntu 12.10) as the source.
Is there any way to achieve this?
Thanks
I suppose router it is

[Q] How can I add Proxy information to my Samsung Tab 3 that is connecting via WIFI

I have a Samsung Tab 3 P5200 that is already rooted. Its running 4.2.2 at the moment. My issue is that when I connect to my work LAN via WIFI, I am not able to get any of my apps or internet to work despite it connecting to the network. My work LAN uses a proxy to connect to the internet. I have gone through my settings on the tablet but am not able to find exactly where I can put the proxy information that my work network uses. My Galaxy S7 won't connect to my LAN ip's after upgrading ROM

Hello, Norwegian here. I just downloaded the latest update from my carrier, Telenor. The current version is now "G930FXXU1BPLB/G930FNEE1BPK1/G930FXXU1BPJJ".
Now suddenly my phone can't connect to my local web server or file shares (SMB sharing in programs that I use for backup phone etc). The servers are on the same subnet as my Wifi and it works fine on other devices like my laptop and my Samsung Galaxy Tab A.. Example http://10.0.0.59/ , a webcam, wont work anymore. Chrome browser says ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE.
Do anybody have a clue what this is?
