E ..... I'm not sure if anyone else gave any thought to this, but ever since AT&T officially announced they'd be carrying the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, I was wondering if the internals (processor) would be different? A good example would be how the original Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Wi-Fi version came equipped with a 1ghz Tegra 2 chip, yet when AT&T picked it up, they went with a 1.5ghz S3 chip (with LTE support of course). As someone who played with both models thoroughly, the 1.5ghz AT&T variant did make for a noticeably smoother experience compared to its Tegra 2 counterpart - Both devices completely stock I must add.
So back to the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, although it has been officially picked up by AT&T, news sources have been very vague on the specs of this particular model. If history provides any clues as what to expect, hopefully the AT&T SGT 2 10.1 will have a 1.5ghz S4 chip which seems to be doing a great job at powering all the other devices its incorporated in.
My ultimate question is has anyone seen or heard anything in regards to this or any other possible changes for the AT&T model???

I live in Canada and I just bought (finally bought) a Samsung Galaxy s2. The version I bought is with Telus, which is identical to the T-Mobile version - t989- in the US.
The phone is great and all but I do notice that at some times it can be a LITTLE laggy here and there. I have also read that the Exynos processor on the international version (i9100) is a lot better then the Snapdragon processor on mine.
Luckily Bell, a carrier in canada, got a version of the Galaxy S2 identical to the international version but is called i9100m instead of i9100.
I just got the phone so I can return my t989 and go buy the i9100, but I want to know if it is really worth it. The most important thing on a phone for me would have to be a phone that runs smooth as possible, this mean no lag.
Basically which is better in your opinion: Exynos or Snapdragon CPU?
Thanks for any help you can provide
If a .2" extra screen size doesn't matter to you, the i9100 is much better. It's thinner, and has the physical home button. While the hardware on both are capable, the T989D is bottlenecked by the lack of a dedicated lane for the GPU and hence the slower UI rendering.
t989 is much better ...im have 2 phones and really t989 is better

I have the AT&T SGS2 (Exynos CPU) and it's butter smooth, with no lag at all. Snapdragon CPU's can't hold a candle to the Exynos. Some people rave about the Hercules, but I don't get why. It's slower, has a cheaper CPU, pixelated graphics (bigger screen with same resolution as 4.3"), heavier, thicker...the Exynos equipped SGS2's has a slightly smaller screen (0.2") but is packed with top hardware. IMHO, it's a much better device. Who cares about LTE anyways? (major selling point of the 2nd gen SGS2's) There are no unlimited data plans anymore, so you really can't use it much. Not only that, but LTE is only available in a small handfull of markets. Get the 9100...you won't regret it.

I am going to be picking up an SGS2 for ATT but was curiouse about a few things.
1: How cross compatible is the SGH-I777 with other carriers SGS2's. I know there is a screen size difference but what else. Is the SGH-I727 more compatible or is it going to be another Infuse.
2: I would like some Pro's & Con's of both phones to compare.
I don't have LTE in my area and won't untill the eoy-12 so the LTE Radio isnt much a worrie for me currently.
Any input is welcome
The first thing is that the at&t skyrocket is a the best version of samsung galaxy S2 u can find. On the software front all the galaxy s2 are the same but the only difference is the hardware. For eg. The infuse is a single core device whereas the at&t skyrocket is a dual core device. In the whole there isn't much of a difference on the software side(Bloat is gonna be there) but the hardware is different. Ohh yeah the international galaxy s2 has hardware buttons whereas the at&t skyrocket and the infuse have capactive buttons. Hope I help and if so hit the thanks button.
Cheers
i have a samsung skyrocket i was debating on putting the os 4 on my phone. now if i decide to add the software to my device does it really void the warranty? Also has anyone had a negitive experiance with the leaked version?
ICS Leaked is not for our phone it is for the International version of the Samsung Galaxy S II (Not the LTE Skyrocket). Technically installing a custom rom will void your warranty although there are ways around this in the long run.
Our phone should be updated by March although with Samsung has completed the programing it would now be ether at Google for review or with your carrier to add their apps and testing. Once that is complete must go back to Google for review once more and back to the carrier for more testing.
I would personally wait as the ICS version from samsung will have all drivers and compatability for your phone which is a good thing.
That won't work on the SkyRocket it was leaked for s2 only
There are a few different S2 variants. As was mentioned, the version leaked is for the "standard" S2.
Our phone (which is known internationally as the Galaxy S II LTE, and is also very similar to the T-Mobile Galaxy S II), was announced to receive an ICS upgrade AFTER the standard Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note get them in Q1, so we might have to sit tight for a bit, could be a few months.
Once a ROM is released or leaked for any of the Snapdragon-based models, they'll probably be able to use that to form the basis for solid ICS roms on our phone as well.
I have a baseless theory that we might see it around the time the Skyrocket HD comes out, because there are always maintenance releases around new phones and it just makes good sense to have that ready.
I am looking to purchase a note 10.1 with LTE. I spoke with a Verizon store rep and he informed me that there is a gen 1 and gen 2 of the 10.1 note.
How do I tell what generation my future tablet is? SKU number, barcode, packaging difference other indicators?
Any help would be appreciated.

There is only one gen a gen stands for generation and there is currently no successor to the original. There are a few models however.
Gt-n8000 unlocked 3g version
Gt-n8013/10 WiFi models
Gt-n8020 Korean lte I believe
And then the Verizon lte variant

VZW does have a second generation of their device. The newest one is the i925.03 and has slightly updated hardware and comes with 4.1.2 JB.
Unsure why they did this, but there were initial reports of problems with the devices turning off for no reason at random when they first came out.
The biggest (and maybe only) hardware difference is another CPU, it has the same clock frequency but another architecture and might therefore performe a little different especially in those tests out there. And probably only in those as well, I doubt you can tell any difference in real life. So since the old one easily can be upgraded to 4.1.2 as well, there's no difference really.

So Samsung has recently rolled out a few new 4g lte tabs these past months (usa Tab E and Tab A) before Christmas. I personally picked up the Sprint 4g 8" variant SM-T377P and am happy with it. I know there is not much support for these new models yet and want to hear from you guys who may have picked one up. Verizon and T-mobile have theirs as well. I belive Verizon went with the Tab A 4g version that is 9.6. Any news on rooting the SM-t377 devices? Im sure a butt load of people will be getting these by the end of the year. By the way i am happy with mine, 1260x800 8" 16gb 1.5g ram isnt bad for a lte tab less than 300usd.
Not a single person has any help with these new lte 4g samsung tabs that just came out through sprint, t mobile, and verizon.
