Should not affect the hardware warranty. Just unroot the phone and you will be fine most likely.

S-On is the stock condition. The way to make the phone S-Off has not been achieved.
There is currently no way to make the bootloader say "LOCKED". Maybe once we have S-Off. Otherwise, it will only ever say UNLOCKED or RELOCKED.

Getting Back to 100% Stock

I've looked around and I can't search the forum from my phone so I started a new thread. If there is already one that answers my question, please refer me to it.
Ok, I'm on 1.85 with an unlocked bootloader. Is there any way possible to return to 100% stock?

Yes as long as your cid is11111111 you can relock. Then run the 1.73 RUU

Thanks gunny. Will that bring my baseband, kernel and firmware back to stock numbers? I'm not sure what my CID is, but I know it's super CID. I'll have to boot into bootloader and check.

Super cid is
11111111 you're all set.
Won't it say relocked ? If that's the case HTC would still know something is up ,or not?

Gunny, if/when we get s-off, will we be able to get rid of the re-locked?

I tried the 1.85 one click method. but failed every time.
BTW i got the phone for just a week and i checked my software number is 2.20.502.7 710RD.
Does that mean i cannot get it rooted right now?
That is correct

Are you on AT&T? Any carrier other than AT&T does not suffer from a locked bootloader on 2.20.

[Q] SW 2.23.707.2, can it be unlocked?

Hi all
Have an International One XL with SW 2.23.707.2, wonder it can be unlocked via HTCdev and have custom roms installed on it?
I know 2.20 cannot be unlocked, just want to confirm if 2.23.707.2 is the same variant as 2.20.
Thanks.
Unless I have S-OFF

[Q] HTC Sensation bootloader

Hi I was wondering If you can unlock the bootloader after re locking it? I had already rooted the phone and had the bootloader unlocked but after flashing a rom my phone was stuck in bootloop and I had to relock the bootloader to use ruu to fix the bootloop.
I believe you can if you use S Off, I did with mine. There are a few threads on how to do it.

You can re-unlock the bootloader by flashing the unlock token that HTC sent you over e-mail, but you will lose all data on the phone

Re: Root question
Depends if you get an att refurbished phone with 3.18 update installed. If you did you can't root.

Well I miss lead on my title, I'll change that in a minute, yes I'm on 3.18 and would that hinder me from unlocking bootloader?

Is it an AT&T phone?
If so, you can't unlock the bootloader, and thusly you cannot root.
Sent from my HTC One XL
Yeah :/ it's at&t lol so I guess I'll have to wait to do this. But if and when I do, should I run into any problems being that I now own a Refurbished phone?

The fact that it's refurbished has no bearing over whether or not it's rootable.
The main point of the question was if I should or shouldn't... If they didn't reset the bootloader or main circuit board I can end up with another brick. That's what I'm trying to avoid this time

There's no reason to not s-off lol. It's very simple to do and takes like 5 minutes.
