Me and my buddy are two students from Portugal and we developed TeeVee, a free application to keep track of your favorite TV Shows.
TeeVee 2.0 is a new version with a better design, faster, and ICS support. You can download it for free at http://goo.gl/LGIVr
Please take a moment to see if you like and comment on future updates you might want.
Thanks a lot!
A small update was released a few days ago, we'd love to hear your thoughts on your application! Thanks a lot guys.
Speed everything up, would be my first request. Background loading, such as in notification pull down. More servers for tv data. Not sure if possible, but configurable notifications, and custom calendar events.
Thanks a lot for your input Kwens_JW. We're already working on some of that stuff and your input was valuable to add more features. We hope to release a new version soon.
Still playing with the app. Swipe left and right to change between menus would be nice.
There seems to be a bug while loading calendar entries. If screen turns off it seems to load forever. Also pops up the load notification again asking you to proceed, though you can see in the background it's still loading.
Reminds me of TV Show Favs, an APP I've been looking for years!! I think you should help him Dev and take down your App.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tvshowfavs&hl=en
Its a nice app. I have only one question why does it keep on hanging on fetching show info for the series Suits? On all the other shows it only took 2-3 sec to load it in.

I disagree. I use his app - it's bloated and the UI sucks. Keep up your good work. You should try to add episode tracking at some point though!

Any plans to support Indian TV schedule?

Awesome application, Been needing something like this for awhile now. Got it set up and working perfectly!
Only small little dislike I have is the widget only displays 1 show that is airing today when there is 2. Lastly customizing the widget font size would be nice also.

Hey guys! First of all thanks a lot for all your support and suggestions. Me and my buddy have been working hard on our new update and we just pushed it to Google Play. Along many improvements, the most noticeable are:
* Major UI and speed improvements.
* Trending shows tab replaced all shows tab.
* Added background updates. Application is no longer blocking.
* Fixed widget design.
* Several bug fixes.
Now, on to some personal answers.

We followed your suggestion and switched from tabs to a pager. Also we added background updates so the application is no longer blocking.

Thank you for your input but we actually started developing this application after using TV Show Favs. We didn't like the need to login to access the application, and we also wanted a Google Calendar synchronization. Those are the main differences between the applications. Also I think that TeeVee has a more "in-your-face" presentation, valuing simplicity and ease of use, but that's a biased opinion I think

I have a question,
I have two mobiles and an eee-pad transformer, and im installed TeeVee on all of them, and since i follow around 13 series, it was rather painless to add them on all devices. How about a feature to allow one to share all the series, maybe via a QR code or something, that could be read on other devices and add them automatically?
Thanks!

Maybe once, but it's o annoying and time consuming, I just stopped at 4 shows.
I can filter my shows, but as I don't remember all of them It would be nice to add a tick to the scroll list and then select add.

Hi koven we're planning on releasing a new version still this month.
tarunongo thanks a lot buddy.
bloodhunter112 sorry the purpose of this application is solely to keep track of the airdate and information of your favorite TV shows.
I'm enjoying your app so far, with one exception I hope you can address. Some of my shows aren't being put into the calendar on the correct days.
First thing I tried to resolve the issue was to hit the update button and re-populate the calendar, but nothing changed.
Here's a screenshot of the app on my phone. The show I'll use for an example is Boardwalk Empire (though it's not the only show that's listed incorrectly):
Next I thought there might be an error with http://www.tvrage.com/ so I went there to make sure the information is correct:
As you can see, the next episode should be airing on Sunday, 6 November 2011. So something is breaking down between http://www.tvrage.com/ and your app. Might be some kind of scraping error.
Edit: I should note that Sunday, 6 November 2011 is the correct air date for the next episode of Boardwalk Empire according to HBO.
The ability to select text and sharing it seems to be rare in apps for pre-Honeycomb Android versions, so this may be a problem. This app will have limited functionality in those Android versions.
Hey xda developpers,
Here's my shot at my second ad-free app, WordLookup !

What is it?
Many of you have probably heard of the popular Google Dictionary extension for Google Chrome, which allows you to double click any word on a web page to view its definition. I have found this feature indispensable to my web browsing.
Of course, it's not possible to implement something like this in Android just yet, but this app tries to imitate its functionality. There's no need to open another dictionary app to find definitions anymore!
WordLookup allows you to view word definitions easily as you browse the web, and when using apps. It does require an Internet connection to work, however.
Simply hold&select the word you wish to look up, share it with WordLookup and a small notification popup will show a few definitions for the word! It's that simple!
Here's how to use it:
1- Hold and select the word you'd like to get the definitions.
2- Select the Share button in the menu/Action Bar.
3- Share text to WordLookup.
4- The definitions should show up in a bit as a popup(Toast) notification.
Supported Apps:
-ICS Android Browser
-Google Chrome
-ICS Gmail and Email app
-Pulse
-Many,many others. More will be added in this list.
Right now, this app is only tested on Android 4.0 - Ice Cream Sandwich, as many apps on earlier versions of Android do not support sharing text, your mileage may vary, though. Some parts of the program are still very rough, as this is still a beta.
Upcoming features includes offline dictionaries, and more!
Technical stuff in a nutshell:
This app gets the shared text via an intent and uses the Knicker library to fetch definitions from Wordnik (thanks to their nifty API). It then sends the definitions to a custom Toast pop-up, which is displayed on the bottom of the screen.
Bug reports! Suggestions! Angry Hate Mails!
If there's anything, feel free to reply to this thread, or PM me.
Or you can also e-mail me at houyuchen66 [at] gmail.com.
Cool! Where do I get it?

Question, is it better to use a Toast notification, like now, or switch to a dialog box, which offers more optimization at the expense of more obtrusiveness?

This is a cool idea, but it doesn't really function on my GB TB because the option to share text is limited (as you stated). Still, I'll be following this to see where it goes and I'll definitely give it a spin once I upgrade!
Keep up the work c:
-And a suggestion-
Do you think it would be possible to create an offline version as well and have the word lookups routed through a database in your app instead of online?
I know I'm connected to the internet via wifi and it won't connect... HTC thunderbolt on sfk almost sense 4.0/gingerbread. I could share it and everything though

Hey Meso,
Unfortunately, the limitations on GB seems to be a hard one and cannot be fixed unless the app developer(in the case of the browser, Google) updates it to add sharing, or possibly added into a ROM or something.
And an offline version are upcoming as well, once some flaws with the app gets nailed out. I'm also thinking of using Bing's traslation service to deliver translations in a future version, as well.

What would you think about adding an auto-upload feature? Similar to what's available in Dropbox and Google+. I've never come across an app that does auto-upload to Flickr, and would absolutely love to have one.
Great work so far brk3!
Hey all, just released 1.8 which has a ton of bug fixes and tablet enhancements https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bourke.glimmr
Made with love by a student, for students
A handy and comprehensive reference app for mathematics, tailored to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O Levels and other similar syllabi. A great maths study companion! Includes most formulas(you may request more!) as well as some extra tips and content!
This app is free for users on xda! It costs 0.99SGD on the market though. Please consider buying it if you like the app! It means a lot to a student like me

I took the exams, I studied the syllabus. I have designed the app in such a way that students will have a better time understanding the concepts and formulas. Little infoboxes around the app that helpful snippets of information, with more coming soon!

I built this app, by myself, from scratch, in my own free time. Yes, it's an HTML5 app. I lack the time and skill to properly do a native one.
I do not want to deprive any students(or whoever lol) who cannot buy this app of this wonderful app! You may also freely distribute(i.e. pirate) this app. However, be aware that any pirated version of this app lacks this feature: that warm fuzzy feeling that you get from purchasing this app, allowing me to buy another cup of Milo
It would mean a lot to me that if you like this app, and can afford it, please do me a favour and purchase it, or spread it around by word of mouth and get people to buy it. Take it as a donation to me. If you own a nice Android phone, surely $0.99 isn't a lot to ask for?
I am also considering an free ad-supported version of this app, but I haven't decided on anything yet, partially since I'm running into problems with Admob.
YOU MAY REQUEST ADDITIONAL CONTENT!

Naturally, I appreciate feedback on how I can make the app better, and from the developers on this forum, any advice. DO report any errors(content, bugs, language) you may have found! While I have looked through the content, I may have accidentally missed out something, and typos do occur.

Not sure if I'm allowed to do this, but here's the android market link to the paid app.
Hey, might you create a feed and speed calculator for machinists? It's very math heavy.

Wait! Little bit buddy. There are too many apps out their to notice. Your app should get some blog coverage to receive some attention. Give it some time. The app look really awesome and there is no reason that someone won't buy it. Have patience. :good:
Useful appreat
It will be great with the calculus formulas. Great job anyway :good:

I've done it, can someone verify it works as it should? Open this on a mobile device. Thanks!
Oh, and if all goes well, next update will include calculus!
OK, for some reason it won't accept a cutter diameter. When I type in .5 it just blanks out the field when I move on to another field or click 'calculate'.
Looks nice. Eager to see where this goes.

Now that's really strange, it works perfectly fine for me. When I type .5 and select another field, 0.5 remains there.
EDIT: oh I pinned down the issue. Anyway, a quick workaround is to type simply type 0.5. It would seem that it is an issue relating to how android handles a numerical input :/ I'm not sure how to word around that for now.

[Update] Version 1.2 with Calculus!
Calculus has been added, along with some other minor fixes and new content.
Unfortunately, I'm not adding in the feed and speed calculator yet as it isn't performing up to expectations.

Hi everyone,
some time ago, I searched for a screenshot app which let me quickly edit screenshots, and then upload them directly to Imgur or share them differently.
Since I couldn’t find anything suitable, I started developing my own one, so now here it is:
My app is called Screen’it, and I’m almost finished for release, but before I wanted to do an alpha/beta test. I would be really happy if you could take part at my alpha test and give me any kind of feedback, about my app. Just say what you think about it. Do you like the layout, design, functions, features, etc.? I would greatly appreciate any sort of feedback.
At release, Screen’it will be a paid app, with a 30 day free trial, but all beta and alpha tester receive Screen'it free for one year. If you are a beta or alpha tester and give feedback, you get Screen’it free forever and don’t have to pay for the Full Version any time in life.

Thanks for testing!
Update 2015/11/05:
To give you all a short update on what I'm currently working here is a Screenshot, of the new "Recent Screenshots" screen on the main page.
@vange Does this look similiar to what you imagined? Thanks for the Idea! http://i.imgur.com/rPlDX4u.jpg
Update 2016/01/17:
First of all sorry for no updates on this thread and my app. I'm currently in India for two months, and doesn't have my computer with my, so sadly no Android programming right now. I'll be back mid February and will than continue working on the app. Thanks for your @vange and all the other support until now, that really keeps me going [emoji4] [emoji3]
Send me more ideas for features if you want, I'm open for (almost) everything.
Update 2016/02/09:
Hi all,
I'm finally back from India and in front of my Computer! Expect the next update of Screen'it at the end of this week, I'm working on it. It will be mainly about the "Recent Screenshots" Option.
Next on my list is working on a better way to actually take screenshots. I'm thinking about a "facebook messenger like" bubble for taking screenshots.
And my favorite long-term feature will be the ability to crop before taking a screenshot. (that will probably take some time to implement, but it should work after all). So stay tuned for what's coming next.
And as always if you have any new feedback or request for a feature feel free to shout it out!
Thanks!

I keep getting "We're sorry, the requested URL was not found on this server", when clicking link after becoming a tester
I took some tries, but got it installed in the end
Looking forward to check it out :good:

mhh... sometimes it takes some time after you are registered as a tester :/
But good to now that you got it installed
Very good app, design/layout is decent and very easy navigatable. I love the loads of tools in the photo editor.
I wouldn't mind, if it was possible to access the photo editor and redo a screenshot after initial editing.
I ran into a problem when trying to share a screenshot via my sms app (Google messenger) . Sending it manually worked fine though. Installed chompsms to see if it was a genereal problem, but there it worked as it should. Verdict must be my sms app sucks.
Other than this, I don't (for my perspective), see any needs for big changes.
You could do color theming if you wanted, I'm sure people enjoy the ability to change color setup.

Thank you for your feedback! I added color theming to my to-do list
Regarding the screenshot redo feature: Never that about that, but sounds good, and helpful. How should it look like? I could imagine that I add an recent Screenshots view to the main app page (where the "start capture" button is), and if you click on one of the images, the editor opens up and let you edit the screenshot again.
I will check the sms problem, when I'm home, should be normally also working with google messenger :/
If you like to, feel free to share the app with your family and friends
nice work

I'm currently working on some minor bug fixes and improvements and I created a "features wanted" list. I'm trying to figure out how to implement some of the features which were requested, but it's not all that easy... and than there isn't enough free time for programming currently :/ But the next build will come soon or later, stay tuned thank you for your help!

Been looking for new updates to this thread for some time, and just now I noticed the update in your OP.
Heh, I was awaiting a new post, so never scrolled up to have a look there.
The recents screenshot wasn't exactly what I was thinking, more like a regular "load image" function and then access the image.
But if you can access the image via pressing on the image, I guess that'll work to
