[Q] No 3g After Installing Thiaiz - LG Optimus 3D

I installed v21e baseband and Thiaiz over the weekend and I'm really enjoying it, however for some reason I cannot get any 3g connection. My data does work it's just only e or g connection no 3g.

So I reinstalled the official GB update and still have no 3g connection. I believe the problem is with the V21e baseband and not the rom. 3g has not worked since installing V21e on my Rogers LG925. Is there a radio update for Rogers phones? With the Rogers release of GB the ghost calls are brutal so I would rather not go back to using the GB software from Rogers.
I found this thread in the LG Thrill section looks like this user is having the exact same issue.
Any ideas?

Go there and go to the Australian firmware list get 20B gingerbread and install it via the kdz flash method so that you get the baseband for it. Once you have done that you want to get a pen and write down your vpn settings...
Then just flash any rom and re enter your vpn settings back onto the custom rom and your set...

Basebands can't be flashed via ClockworkMod.
You'll need to flash a gingerbread baseband with the LG Flash Tool.
A guide is HERE.
Once you do that, you can install ClockworkMod after rooting with SuperOneClick.
If you can't root with SOC, then use the Megatron Root in the same thread linked above.
And lastly, once rooted, use Recovery Manager to flash ClockworkMod.
Cheers guys ill gave a play around when i get home see how i get on

I've got a similar problem.. Lucky Aussies.
I've been using 2.3.5, Baseband L6260_Modem_Sic_01.1042.00, Software version LGP920-V21e-Apr-19-2012
The phone gets reception on the highway, but not near the house. My suspicion is that it is connecting to 2G only..
I'm currently testing JellyBam-4.1.0_p920.STABLE.zip...
Great phone, but the lack of support (upgrades) from LG especially in Australia is annoying..
Any great ideas people?
Cheers
Michael

How do you Downgrade G2x Baseband

My friend had a g2x and he is running Ricardo's selfkang ics builds. But everything works for him except text messaging. He can send texts with no problem but he is not receiving the messages back.
His baseband is build from July and mine is from march. Maybe its a base and issue, and I want to know where can I get the old March 2011 base and and how do I downgrade his baseband
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-5
So far, the P999/G2X baseband is not flashable separately from the rest of the firmware and operating system and don't use the flashing utility for the P990/Optimus 2X to flash the Optimus 2X baseband because it will ruin the P999/G2X so that the phone won't be usable as a phone anymore.
Im having the same issue, still haven't found a way around it. I made a thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577242
Tell your friend to try a different rom. The Cm9 build is only beta and not everything is working properly
If he wants to stay on ICS roms, have him try Hells or EB or AOK ics roms and see what results he gets

Read thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577242 It is not a baseband issue, it appears to be an anomaly with certain phones, I have personally experienced it on 2 handsets of the 10 I have used.
Have you tried using the getril app in the play store. It may be an issue because his baseband and ril are not matching. I have no problems sending or receiving anything on ics with July baseband.

Tried getril said versions did not match got them to match and still having issues. Anyone seen this before I am stuck on the stock ROM and cannot flash anything due to not being able to make calls.

It's actually really easy to downgrade. I upgraded yesterday using mode XP and then realized I couldn't use CM7 Roms without in-call audio acting up. I just did the same procedure again but used the 'V21E_00.kdz' flash file. Its the update file that has the July 2011 baseband. It worked perfectly under Mode XP using the offline updater tool.
Give it a try. Hope this helps

lg g2x updated to 2 2.3.3 worked on 2.3.2 then updated ota then started having the call issue please help me
Go to g2x Dev section. Stickied thread on how to unbrick.
Flash stock recovery with nvflash.
Then using windows XP, plug your phone in, install the msxml file. Then run tthe kdz updater. Browse to the v21e kdz and launch the application.
Here's some tips. It would seem like it freezes, but just wait. Its actually running. Just don't touch the computer for a while.

I have this same static issue. I can send/receive texts and make/accept calls, the problem is though that calls is all static, I can't hear anything else. I have the same BB you do as well. Currently running JB 4.1.1 on CM9 (9.9.9-JB-p999). It would be REALLY nice to keep this rom, it performs so much better than the other ROMs I have tried :crying:

Asking help for fellows Brazilians or others Latin Americans users[Baseband and v21e]

Hello all
I was wondering if there is someone that has suceeded in flashing a v21e firmware without getting signal problems here in Brazil.
I am able to flash v21e KDZ and the respective baseband, but I never get signal what is kinda disappointing.
My question is, here in Brazil or other countries with the same baseband we will be stuck on v20a firmwares and v21d? Is there a way to flash v21e firmware without having problems with signal or, in other words, have the phone functionability working?
If someone knows how, please tell me. Thanks
another thing i was wondering if there is a problem with models and v21e
As you know here in Brazil the Optimus 3D model is P920H which is not kind the same as P920 (whole Europe I guess) or P925 (US).
Is because of that i'm facing those problems (no signal) trying to upgrade software version to v21e?

Soon after this I installed Promethius ROM and kernel and have been using them. This week I travalled to outher cities and noticed that the phone never realized it was on roaming. It kept data connection available even with the option to allow data connection on roaming disabled.

I live in Porto Alegre and had no luck flashing v21e kdz as I said. My carrier is VIVO. I've seen on another post (can't remember wich one to be honest) that someone said that here in Brazil v21e wasn't supposed to get signal at all, but this guy was using it.
As far as I know that could be an kernel issue also, sometimes flashing different kernels could restore signal but i hadn't that luck. I've been using smartflash method to flash v21e baseband (with bin convertor and stuff) because I tought it was a simplier and most effective way to do it (without getting any errors or having to solder a cable properly). Tonight I'll try using Lg Flash Tool like most of ppl to see what happens.
Just wanted to use Acura 3D MAX rom or Prometheus Project... But since i'm stucked with 21d (which i'm using atm) or 20a (original), i'm running ThiaZO3D 2.7 which is awesome but not kind what I was looking for.
Have u tried to flash another versions?
I´m using LGP920-v21e-apr-19-2012 with DNA_GB 3.3.3 with no problems... look into the kdz flash log... post it here... post the About Phone to!

I had installed a V21e (German) without problem.
None problem with 3G and GSM.

I installed bluekernel and it worked just fine...
Why did this happen? Ideas?

Hello perna84,
I remember that post, that's why I took more than a month to try v21e. But I soon noticed that in my case it was not true. I flashed the whole kdz using that "marwin" LG application, using the small html server to trick the LG application tool to not update itself. Couldn't find the thread again, but if you need I can try a little harder later. I always used the original usb cable, not a modified one. Never encountered any error message. The original v21e ROM worked fine for the couple of minutes I left it until I flashed custom ROMs.
I tried Promethius ROM and kernel in several versions, but I noticed it to be quite unstable: occasional boots, wi-fi and bluetooth freezes and so on.
Then I tried Acura ROM. Almost perfect but google+ application doesn't work. Other users report other apps not working also.
Now I'm using ThiaiZ v2.8 and, do far, it seems perfect. No misbehaving until now.

New Baseband question (MARCH)

So I've been using G2x with July 15 baseband on canadian mobilicity network(wind variant of g2x)
and it's working pretty good except that MMS doesnt work
However if i want to use new ROMs (Singh UI..etc) I gotta have the new baseband for tmobile...
can I just install the baseband or would it have problem with mobilicity network?
or is it impossible for canadian g2x to get the new baseband update?
thank you

The baseband can't be installed separately with any of the P999 tools and don't use any P990 tools such as smartflash because it will brick your phone's partitions and baseband. The T-Mobile basebands work perfectly on WIND so they should work perfectly on Mobilicity too but you have to flash the .kdz file which will install the baseband, kernel, and ROM then you can install a different kernel and ROM which is compatible with the installed baseband.

No, you can't use CWM to flash the baseband, it won't do it. You must use either the LG updater which won't work for the WIND Optimus 2X because LG didn't supply any updates in Canada or the offline update method for the LG-P999/G2X which will work with a .kdz file.

Did you use the offline update? If you had, that wouldn't have happened because the offline update method uses an http server on your own computer to intercept all of the server communication to the official LG update server and enable updating of the phone which has any version of firmware running on it.
The newset baseband for G2X is 15-3-2012.
I flashed the new March 2012 baseband and now my gps doesn't work anymore. It stays stuck at "searching for gps signal." The thing is I don't remember what I was using before, the March 2012 or July 2011 baseband. I'm assuming July 2011 and the change could've caused this issue. However, shouldn't the new baseband be an improvement on GPS signal and whatnot? Anyways, looking forward to hearing some advice before I try to downgrade back to the March 2011 baseband.

i have a question that i think it might be related to this. i have 2g and 3g net working on my phone but its rare to have 3g even in the center of the city, i usualy had fast internet but now i dont. plus some times i dont even have G internet, i get H in a place where my brother as 3G
if i flash another baseband, is it possible that this problem gets better?

Lots of info. on various basebands tested and working in various geographical areas.
A different question for you guys.
I've installed several custom ROMs, all ICS based, and my phone lags quite a lot on nearly all of them, regardless of kernels used, etc.
Did you guys notice any different performance when you flash different basebands? Regarding lag ?

Well as an update, the low score remained when I flashed back to the "good" baseband and in fact was the same for all the basebands I flashed. I then lost my IMEI, which seems to have happened to other people, so take care when flashing basebands
FWIW I found 18 to be the best baseband - much faster download speeds than 20a. I found one that gave supercharged upload speed but download speed was poor
