For all you people out there wanting to save even more money, here is the deal.
Starting the 25th of THIS month. AT&T will be changing the Media Net Unlimited 15.00 To..... Data Unlimited 9.99
For all my media net 15 dolla fans out there here is the catch.
1. You must be on a Family Talk Package.
2. You must have Family Messaging Unlimited
3. If you meet the above requirements then you can change from media net unlimited to Data Unlimited saving you 5.00 a month.
AFAIK at this point the APN is the same all this does it lessen the price, it still connects to wap.cingular.
Now they are also changing the media max unlimited 35.00, that was the one that was unlimited txt and data. It is now going to be called Messaging & Data Unlimited, and yes it gets cheaper as well 30.00.
***Of course you would need to do the sim swap trick for the pda***
Thanks for the update... I look forward to adjusting my son's and mine. Now we can add unlimited family txt = $30 and (2) unl data = $20 totalling $50 gaining unl txt for 3 phones.
Currently we have 2 phones w/unl data and 200 txt totalling $40. So the extra $10 will be worth the unl txt for all phones on the plan!
I might jump on the $30 for unl data & messaging. I'm paying $15 just for 1500 messages with no data.
Of course I'll have to swap over to a dumb phone and call and hopefully get them to change it for me since they won't let us had MediaMax plans on a PDA
Can you elaborate a bit more Plz? Im confused... This is what i have: A family plan with 3 lines, 2 pda ($30 data plan for each) 1 regular phone with no data, Famility unlimited txt messages plan and the minutes i chose. Can the above apply to me? -Thnx in advance-

You would have to do the sim swap trick for the pda's. And as long as you have the fam unlim mess its 9.99 data per line

Okay so I have a family plan with two phones on it (Iphone and Fuze) We have unlimted texts on our plan for $30.00 and then she has a 30 dollar a month unlimited data plan for her iphone.
My data plan is called "PDA Persona" and that costs me 30 dollars a month. What's the deal with that? I dont even see an option for a $15.00 a month unlimted data plan let alone a $9.99 one.
Here's my bill break down:
Primary Line:
FamilyTalk Nation 700 Rollover & Unlimited Night/Weekend & Unlimited Mobile-To-Mobile Minutes: $60.00
Data Plan for Iphone: $30.00
Messaging Unlimited for Families: $30.00
Secondary Line:
Additional Line Cost: $9.99
EnhancedVoiceMail: $1.99
Wireless Phone Insurance: $4.99
PDA Personal: $30.00
And it shows the "Messaging Unlimited for Families: $30.00" as well because it's shared
When I go to Manage Features the options for data are:
PDA Person Bundle :$50.00
PDA Personal with 200 MSGs: $35.00
PDA Personal with out Messaging: $30.00
Like I said no options for $15.00 a month data or $9.99 data
AND Totally just realized you said it starts the 25th of this month... Still.... I'm suspicious that I dont see a $15.00 a month option there.. I mean if I can go down to 9.99 as opposed to $30.00 that would be great!

I think you would have to call them from a regular cell phone so they see that you don't have a PDA now and will switch your plan to the cheaper. I will give it a try next week.
This doesn't quite replace the $15 MediaNet plan. To qualify for the $10 plan, you have to have an unlimited texting plan on the same line. Single line unlimited for $20, Family Texting, and BizTalk Texting all qualify. A 200 message pack doesn't cut it.
You won't see it on the website yet anyway if it doesn't activate until the 25th.
Quick question regarding the "Sim Swap."
I have an Unlimited messaging plan that i pay $20 for myself on my family plan. If I swap my sim with a razr and activate the unlimited data plan for $10 more and use the internet on my fuze, will they change the plan on my bill and charge me $30 for data? Or they wont know and i will just pay $30 for data and txt?
getting this for te rebate of course.
But I alway pay for unlimited text and web when I had my nexus. I heard they charge you again because of "4g" speeds right?
well if i sign this contract do I HAVE to get the data plan
you have to pay EXTRA for DATA if you are getting the 2yr contract price. normal plan about $30 to get your mail in rebate. on the $15 or old data plans, you cannot get the mail in rebate.
EDIT: Old web/ text plan 34.99
NEW 4g $30 just for web. 10-15 for text unless its "bundled"
I got an upgrade price but no rebate, and managed to keep my grandfathered $24.99 a month MyTouch unlimited web +400 texts plan. I was very specific that this is what I wanted and the sales rep in the store made it happen.
When I log onto the T-Mo site it still shows me with a MyTouch (been using an N1 for almost a year) and still shows me on the MyTouch data plan.
ETA: finally got a new SIM too, had been using the one that came with my WinMo Wing since 07...
i had unlimited web + unlimited msg, didnt change after upgrade with a new 2yr contract, still paying like a $30 for it, using a new sim i've got with the phone
Ok, because I pay 69.99 a month for unlimited web and data and I do not want that to go up. On the flipside, I want to get the phonefor a cheaper price than the 300 i paid
signing a new contract doesnt mean u need to change ur plan or services, u can stay with ur plan and services, even if they dont have it anymore, i still have some services / with my second phone/ which are not available now at same price like they were 6yr ago

I can say this, I purchased my G2x outright, no contract, and every time I try to access any web based services, I get denied. I get redirected to a web2go page that tells me I have upgrade my data plan. A note, if I'm on WiFi, I have no problems, this is only when it tries to connect through the TMo network. 2G, 3G or 4G, doesn't matter.
T-mobile just announced few of their new 4G prepaid plan today. You can get unlimited talk / text with 2GB of high speed data for $60 without signing any contract.
This plan is better than simple mobile $60 plan since simple mobile is only good for 1GB of data.

Huh? 1GB? I have been with SM for more than 2 yrs and I reach 2gb or more every month with no cap.
Sent from my Calculator with Android.
It's about a month old, I switched from flex pay to this earlier this month. I was a bit irritated when I found this out. I had to log out of my account to find it because if you are logged in it wont let you see it. So I instantly cancelled my flex pay account because I was paying more for less....
if you dont talk much like me go for the $30 100 min unl text and data up to 5gb
I don't care for data caps myself.
well unless you have a grandfathered plan you have a cap nowdays...except for sprint and their joke of a 4g network
F'ing T-Mobile, when I signed up for it, it said there was no limit on the $70/month plan. Now all the sudden there is. I was wondering at first what $60 plan he was talking about, because when I set mine up there were two options, $50/month for unlimited talk and text, and 2gb data 4g, and the other was $70 unlimited everything. Now there's a bunch of different things and caps on everything.. I feel scammed.
that is why there is no contract , they can change anytime they want.. if you want fix price go w/ contract where they can't increase the prices for your usage.
I've been thinking about trying straight talk. My data speeds just aren't that great, and I have to pay out the butt for .5 mb - 1 mb data speeds. They have packages were you use sprint, VZ or AT&T towers. If I switched over I would just go buy a One X from at&t for $550 ( or keep my E4GT bc I think you can flash it over). I'm on a family plan with my girlfriend and our sprint bill is $180 bucks a month! I could buy a One X for $550 and a used Iphone 4s for her for like $350.
Investment in phones : $900
$50 a month for 2 phones for 2 years : $2400
Total: $3300
Sprint bill for 2 years: $4320
What do you guys think?
I could even just flash a different networks PRL and use a lot of data and get sprint to cancel my service. Then sell our devices for around $700 for both. If I did that and if they canceled my service would they cancel hers as well? I am the primary btw...

How do you manage to get it that high?! I am not familiar with Sprint plans. Why don't you go to the at&t site and see whether you or your girlfriend qualify for a discount through your school/work. I get 25% off my voice service and I have a special deal on a grandfathered unlimited data plan.
I keep telling people to check these discounts. I asked a mod about creating carrier specific forum sections so we could discuss deals and carrier strategies but I was shot down (at least by one mod).
I get the 450 minute/5,000 nights and weekends/ unlimited mobile to mobile plan for $30 a month. My unlimited LTE data is $30 a month. My unlimited text messaging is $20. So that is $80 a month for unlimited everything except for daytime landline calls (I consider 5,000 minutes of night/weekend land line calls unlimited). I'm thinking of dropping the text messaging and having a $60 bill.
I pay 100 for everythking data and 1500 minutes ( dont need that many but its the lowest family plan). 10 premium data charge for 2 phones. 8 for phone insurance. And 20 for the extra line. Then 16 i. Sprint surcharges and 8 in government taxes. Do you not pay surcharges or taxes on your plan. Whats the grand total for your bill? If not going to straight talk was considering at&t. Also i think a carrier specific forum is a great idea btw.

As the title stats, I want to know what the cheapest plan is that supports android? (preferrably a gs4 with at least unlimited texting)
I'm looking for a plan that is no more than 25$ a month.

The cheapest plan that has the the best balance of data (5 GB a month data allowance), unlimited texting, and calling (100 monthly minutes) is T mobiles plan for $30 a month I know it's $5 more a month then what your looking for but if your willing to spend the extra $5 a month it's worth it. The other plan I could find for $25 a month is AT&T's prepaid smartphone plan with unlimited text messaging, 250 minutes of nationwide calling, but no data allowance. The T-mobile is a bring your own device type of plan while the prepaid ATT plan I'm not 100% sure about whether you can bring your own device or not.
Good Luck
