system tuner

I use Titanium Backup, but only for user apps and SMS, never for any system apps/data.

Yea I'm leaning towards that. Just seeing if there's a one button user app back up button that'll do the same. What does the jelly bean backup backup? Apps? I'm running sky jb

What he (or she!) said.

System Tuner Pro, Titanium Backup Pro Key and AppMonster Pro all work quite well. I'm partial to System tuner and AppMonster, as TiBu often hangs and needs to be FC'ed to keep the process moving.

Titanium Backup

I've been flashing roms for a little while now and using titanium backup to speed up the process. Does anyone know why some apps will constantly force close after restoring a backup thru TB? Its fixed only by uninstalling the app and reinstalling the apk or from the market.

Deleting bloatware

Hey guys. What is the easiest way to get rid of all the bloatwear and unwanted apps that came with this phone? I've tried the Root Explorer method but the apps are still there. What can I do?

+1. That's what I did at first. I've now moved onto the JMT rom.
Use Titanium Backup, you can uninstall just about anything, and because you can uninstall just about anything you want to make sure you know what you are deleting is non-essential.

Is it okay to flash GB?

So is it okay to flash it over jelly bean? I heard that once you go to an upgraded ROM it isn't that simple to downgrade it back.

No, you have to do a full wipe. Which is wipe data/factory reset and format system in recovery then you can have your gb rom back.

It's not safe to restore apps from different android versions. They might force close, install them fresh from the play store to be extra careful.
Happy flashing

For some games it will work. But it is always better to do a fresh install, I guess restoring your levels in games wouldn't be a problem, Just don't restore important apps like root apps or something.

I'm not worried about the game data I'm worries about the messaging and call log.

Lol those aren't categorized in the apps data. Those do nothing if you restored them, use sms backup and restore, call log backup and restore. Trusted apps!
Again happy flashing

Can I ask why you are deciding to downgrade to GB?
Already did it. Just for a change. My phone was pre loaded with JB when I bought the phone so I'd never seen GB on this.
Now it is much faster and very good battery backup.

Yes the GB has a better battery life but I care more about the performance so I prefer JB and because it has many new features

[Q] App Data backup without root??

I have looked in the playstore and most backup apps need root to backup app data. I bought a Skyrocket for a friend of mine overseas and I want to make sure he can transfer data from his apps to the Skyrocket. His phone is stock and not rooted. Anyone know a way to backup app data without root??

Lifehacker.com recommends Carbon. Haven't tried it yet myself. It's on my wishlist. Using App backup & restore by Infolife LLC myself. Haven't had the need to do a restore yet, so don't know if it's really good.

A lot of apps backup the apk's but not all will backup the data that goes with them without root. Super backup needs root to restore app data.
