I've been flashing roms for a little while now and using titanium backup to speed up the process. Does anyone know why some apps will constantly force close after restoring a backup thru TB? Its fixed only by uninstalling the app and reinstalling the apk or from the market.

Did you try fix_permissions afterwards?

Did you delete tb file from internal? Check to see if tb can find the backup!

I'm using Adw EX when I reboot the theme will halfass reset. Meaning the icons will be half and half and themes without a dock will have a dock image. I know it isn't Adw because the other phone I use it on never does this. It doesn't matter what rom this always happens. All ideas are welcome except telling me to use go, it doesn't have the ability to only have four dock icons.

I'm using adw ex(got it on sale) and had a issue such as this only once, after re-installing issue went away(think it had something to do with the titanium backup)... Have you done the usual, writes and fix permissions?

Hey guys. What is the easiest way to get rid of all the bloatwear and unwanted apps that came with this phone? I've tried the Root Explorer method but the apps are still there. What can I do?

+1. That's what I did at first. I've now moved onto the JMT rom.
Use Titanium Backup, you can uninstall just about anything, and because you can uninstall just about anything you want to make sure you know what you are deleting is non-essential.

I use Titanium Backup, but only for user apps and SMS, never for any system apps/data.

Yea I'm leaning towards that. Just seeing if there's a one button user app back up button that'll do the same. What does the jelly bean backup backup? Apps? I'm running sky jb

What he (or she!) said.
System Tuner Pro, Titanium Backup Pro Key and AppMonster Pro all work quite well. I'm partial to System tuner and AppMonster, as TiBu often hangs and needs to be FC'ed to keep the process moving.

After restoring all of my apps through titanium backup on a new rom, the phone (mostly the launcher and UI) lag quite a bit. Is this just because there are more apps on the phone or is there a problem somewhere within my backup files?

To do a test reinstall the rom and then all the apps from market as opposed to titanium. That will tell you what's wrong I bet. Do restore just app or data too?'

I have been restoring app+data on everything except games. I reinstall those and then restore data. I will try doing it one by one later to see if that changes anything

Try fixing permissions in your recovery. Usually under advanced options. See if that doesn't help.

I always fix permissions when I install a new rom. Are you saying I should fix permissions after I restore my apps? That would make sense

i've seen this mentioned before for performance issues -- just curious, but why would fixing permissions solve this? I always thought force-closes were usually the symptom of messed-up permissions.
