I guess I should have stated what I have tried in the OP...
I have tried the following with no avail [none of them worked]:
SuperOneClick 2.1
SuperOneClick 2.2
SuperOneClick 2.3.1
Universal Androot 1.6.2 Beta 5
z4root 1.3.0
DooMLoRD v3 RooT
I read that GingerBreak does not work as well.
It would seem that this device is unroot-able. Any other suggestions?

I read that whole thread... it doesn't seem that anyone had a "safe" way of doing things. Mabye this device is just to new or not enough people bought one. Guess I will keep looking.
Thanks though!
Sorry to hear that, I guess soon or later...
I rooted my Nextbook 7 Premium with SuperOneClick v2.3.1
Nextbook 7Premium, ID: S7JNEXT7P, Model: NEXT 7P, Serial #: Y121106...
I was able to Root the device using SuperOneClic Version 2.3.1 (earlier versions did not work) and it worked the very first time I ran it.
Next I copied this ROM ( [ROM] Nextbook 7P [dw] Rom v0.1 ICSBootAnim Debloated & Rooted 1/14/12 ) onto my internal SD Card and named it “ update “ with nothing after it, it will be read as a .img file so there is no need to place .img after the name “ update “. I restarted the device and it read the image without any problems and I was able to update to / install this ROM. Afterwards I did a factory reset which is always a good idea after installing a new update or ROM.
This is the link to the discussion thread where I downloaded the ROM:

LG GT540 CM7 v6 by PCFighter - Cant fix wifi

Dear XDA-Community,
I have a lot of trouble with myGT540. At first i tried several ROMS, that didnt worked like I have expected. I found this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1294516 --> CyanogenMod 7.2 v6 final
I installed it, everything is working but wifi not. If I install the Kernel from zices I cant enable wifi (I tried every stated solution, turn on/off use bluteooth first etc.)
Then I installed it without the kernel, I was able to enable wifi, but with the problem that was descriped in this thread.
My First Question: Is the zice Kernel only for v6?
My Second Question: I tried to fix the "usual" wifi bug (without zice) with the hints given in the thread: I downloaded the wpa_supplicant file and changed Permissions. I also changed Permission on the file located in data/etc/wifi.
I did this with root explorer and it didnt work. (I noticed after a restart the Permissions are resetted) Is root explorer the problem? Do I have to do it with adb shell?(I dont want to do this ), is there any alternative or any other solution? Perhaps some zip file to flash via recovery?
Thanks in advanced,
thecoon

This is the steps you need to do first
#1-root, if your phone wont root then you probably need to get security off
#2-after root you can install cwm 3.0.2.1, there are newer version of cement but 3.0.2.1 is stable, but you can use 5.0.2.8
#3-now you back up your system through cwm, you can only backup using cwm or any other type of recovery
#4-now you can install custom roms and do modifications to your phone.
For root try gingerbreak or z4root

[Q] Is my tablet dead?

Hi, i got a prestigio multipad 5080 pro, i rooted my device and everything was fine until i changed the DPI of my device in order to play dead space. Now my device keeps says "unfortunately, launcher has stopped" on a loop is there any way to fix this? i have tried factory reset and it did nothing.
Thanks.
a good rom and stable so far.
download from here
http: // x--t-e-a-m. blogspot. it/ and click on Download:
XTeam 4.1 QUI
plus for setting your external sd as a nand *as a main installing card... use this http :// crewrktablets. arctablet. com/?wpfb_dl=330
use google translate cause its italian website...anyway ...
steps are easy ... unrar XTeam 4.1 ...
1) Turn off your device
2) Locate the folder Rockusb_driver in the XTeam 4.1 folder and install the drivers for your computer.
3) on the tablet Hold sounds Down Button and connect the device.
4) open with right click and run as administrator the rk29update.exe
5) press the button "formatta!!!"
6) tick the "Loader"
7) Download this kernel from here: http: // www .2shared. com/file/GmdSyNG1/kernel_for_pmp_5080cpro_with_o.html
replace the kernel with the one that i gave you from the link
9) press the "Aggiorna! ! " button and wait until the program overwrite the new firmware
10)when the tablet reboot it will go through cwm and the install the
Oma CM10 ExtSD To NAND OTG Fix.
11) the new firmware have OTA updater so update your tablet until you have no other updates...(i realised that i had to download the updates from ota and install them manual but anyway...)
12) in one point the updates from ota updater will change your kernel but dont worry.you will just lose temporary the screen rotation so...
install all the updates and in the end run the rk29update.exe again untick all the things there and keep only the kernel ticked and use the kernel i gave you.that match with your 5080 cpro. this time dont push formatta !!!.
Just overwrite the kernel and click aggiorna! !
your device will restart and ta da !!! you have the latest firmware for your Prestigio 5080 C PRO. overclocked and rooted with 1 giga for apps
plus 2x faster than factory's firmware.
i wanna say a big thanx to OMA for the kernel http: //crewrktablets. arctablet. com/
a big thanx to X TEAM for this awesome firmware
and a huge thanx to my self that i had the patience to search for the specific model what to do. It took me about 2 days to gather all the informations i needed.
And a huge apologize to oma that i didnt use his JB version for the prestigio tablet but i test it and it was kinda slow and laggy for my tablet xD
ps: in case that u need more info i ll be around to help you
Remember the steps are only for Prestigio PMP 5080 C PRO and NOT for the Prestigio 5080B.
For the Prestigio 5080B you must find the specific Kernel that works on the device cause else you will have problem with the ROTATION
