Hey guys,
While replacing the screen on my One X I have managed to misplace my power button. Lesson learned right? Im still trying to look for it here but in the event that I dont find it, does anyone know where to buy one?
I have looked on eBay and just straight up Google with no avail. The only thing that I can find is entire rear housing that comes with both power button and volume button, but I have no need for the entire housing.
Thanks!

I highly doubt you will be able to find just the power button as it's such a small piece. Sure HTC might have them as spares, but again, I doubt they'll ship you one. Could give them a shout though, couldn't hurt.
Yeah that was my thought exactly on it being such as small parrt, but my counter thought to that was if they send out the USB connectors, why not the power buttons you know?
Anyway, yeah ill probably give HTC a shout

You mean the internal USB port? Those are more or less universal and just needs to be soldered on properly I think. The power button is way more specialized to the design of the phone than the USB port IMO. Hoping for the best for you!

I did actually call HTC and asked them and they said that they don't sell them but he directed me to some HTC storefront page that only sold general accessories like cases and things of that nature
I did end up finding the power button. They actually do have them on eBay, they just don't have anyone in the US that sells them, I had to order from someone in Hong Kong.
Almost $6 shipped for both the power button and the volume button

As long as the seller is a reputable one, I'd just go with that. Even if you were to find a seller in the states, you won't get it for much better of a price. They'd at least charge you a few bucks shipping and handling, just to make up for their time (even if the parts themselves cost close to nothing). Also remember that just posting an auction on eBay costs close to a buck or more, so that person needs to recoup that cost as well.

Since the marketplace is closed, where is anyone finding replacement parts (aside from ripoffbay)? The digitizer in my mom's phone died, no response at all, and the stupid ass design of the phone won't even let you answer a incoming call without moving the ring. To make it worse, while I opened it to check for damage on the inside, I broke the front center button ribbon, and the right hand side front button pcb. The whole setup of supergluing every single part of the lcd is insane ARG.
So I need pretty much the entire upper lcd assembly, and with the market gone, does anyone know where to find one? Or just MT4GS parts in general?
I just tore one down, the LCD and digitizer in it was toast and so was the main part of the board but I should have the cable your talking about at home, I'll post a pic when I get home

eBay isn't as bad as people make it out to be...
In fact it's the sellers that are at more of a disadvantage than the buyer. Paypal will almost always side with the buyer, even if they're telling blatant lies. Sold a fully working item to the buyer, and the buyer claimed it did not work. Paypal forced me to give him a refund and accept a return no matter what I said. And when I got the item back, "surprise, surprise" item worked fine.
As long as you do your homework and ask the appropriate questions before buying, you should be fine. Try some parts ebay lots. They have some great deals
-Experienced eBayer
I've had a fair bit of success on eBay with parts for a number of phones. I've replaced a whole frame for a MT3GS, a full back with buttons and battery for a iPhone 3G, a MT4GS speaker, and several digiziters for iPhones (3G / 3GS), MT3GS, MT4G and MT4GS.
I try to use US based shippers for quicker shipping times and better odds on communicating if there is an issue.
No, I know that, i've sold on ebay as well, its A) this phone is frustrating as hell, and B- the thing with private sellers, you get a bit better experience with as-is phones for parts, for a decent price. Like if someone on here had said, oh, I bricked the phone, no physical damage, I can expect to get a working lcd/digitizer/camera/etc. On ebay, it's a gamble on as-is and I've been burnt before on it.
Good part atleast, I found a old razor v3 that i had planned on unlocking almost 2 years ago, charged it and got the unlocking done in a few minutes. A working phone for now, makes replacement or parts a little less urgent.

Well I totally understand that sentiment. I've been there as well. The MT3GS I have was an eBay pick that was advertised as a 4G Slide. It was my first HTC phone so I didn't notice the picture didn't match. The price was a STEAL for a 4G Slide but only decent for a 3G Slide. I ended up giving the seller a neutral feedback. Since then I've been a bit anal about calling sellers out when they list a 3G Slide or 4G as a 4G Slide. Most have fixed the listings.
Having said that, I've been on the other side of the coin too. I picked up a 4G for my daughter that supposedly was soft bricked with a bad digitizer and volume buttons. I found that the button issue was just a matter of cleaning everything. From there I was able to reflash the latest stock ROM and the phone was good.
I normally just search google with specific part names that I need. Yes a lot take you to ebay, but that's normally ok, good prices!
I don't really like ebay - been burnt a lot through there. Pretty much only use it for carebears for my lady. Great place for that.
No one suggested checking craigslist for local deals?
If I don't get it through the forums here - that's where i've bought my other phones from and it's worked out well.
I bought my spare parts here

Although it's still shipping.
I have a couple of old logic boards that need a some little bits replaced. I'm confident I can do it, but I'm running into a bit of a wall as far as one of the pieces. This place is far more virtual than physical, but even so, I'm hoping.
On the board, on the edges, the little white switches that correspond with the volume and power buttons. Those are what I need. Ebay seems to be telling me that there are different types or models or something of this switch. And the only phone that they claim compatibility with is the new S4. Honestly, it *looks* like a generic piece, but before I order some from China and wait two weeks to find out I have the wrong thing, I'm hoping to find out what the deal is with this darned switch!
I plan to call some repair places tomorrow, it's just too late right now, and what can I say, I love you guys.
Thanks much anybody!
If they look the same then they are the same, don't heat them up too much they melt. If the part you found is Samsung its most likely the same as other Samsung phones. Post a link to the part found and the SK or I'll just open mine if I find it. Might be the same as the S2.

You can see them in the tear down over in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466906
The little white ones (power/volume) are what I need. Ebay has them, but a bunch have 3-4 letters that seem to somehow differentiate them, even though they all look exactly alike. (FNRG, TIM, NCYG)
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...=power+key+switch+on+off+replace&_sacat=43304
You know.. Looking harder. I think that stupid little letter thing is just so the item description isn't the exact same every time between all these different sellers. >:c

Yeah they are the same as the s2 I actually tried two days ago to salvage the buttons from a s2 but failed but they are the same the only one that should be different would be the camera button if it has two stage click
Just look for s2, the s3 looks completely different, my local parts vendor doesn't have the buttons so I don't try to repair them. Good luck the two pins on the back are the contacts the middle one is just support

Noticed that difference. Found a lovely deal 4 day shipping in the US (hard as hell to find stuff NOT from China), $5 for a lot of 4. ^..^ I'm a happy camper.
And yeah, I tried salvaging from another board. It came out fine, but doesn't seem to want to attach, plus I need three of them, so may as well go new!

Yeah at my job we can get them cheap but with large order and other stuff from China I'll probably order some on the next order just that I got to even out the the cost and shipping to the cost of the repair

I figure a buck for a piece, especially assuming it fixes the issue, isn't such a bad deal. ^..^ I admire the people who do this regularly and make some $40+ with costs being all of $5 including parts and shipping. If this works out for me, I might start offering the repair service myself. XD

I try to charge only 35 or 45 for labor plus part price not bad but if it takes too much time to do it I got to make the money to pay myself and make profit, reply when you get it done I wonder how the solder holds

Will do! I'm replacing a micro usb port too. far easier than the buttons, as the buttons only have those little pinprick through holes. I can't imagine I'd charge more than 30/40 + shipping. It's about standard pricing. I don't know if you've soldered on logic boards before or not, but there's a great tutorial(ish) series on youtube by user iRepairFast. Quite thorough.
I've completed the palm touchstone wireless mod but somewhere along the way the orange and black spring that sticks to volume up portion of the PCB for the volume control has disappeared. If anyone has some spare parts I'd be willing to buy them from you. Thanks.
EBay is your best bet. Plus, it's against the rules to buy and sell on XDA, that's why they created the Swappa site as a sister site, check there too.

Looks like I need a refresher on the rules. Actually, I probably never read them when I joined back in 08. Oh well. I bought it on eBay.

Hi! Thanks for sharing that
Are the battery and the charger completely equals to the original ?
Thanks for helping!
Thanks for the great post!
But... is the flip cover official? I don't recall N4 having any kind of official case, much less a flip one.

With original in this case I meant that is fully compatible with the device, maybe should I use other words in order to avoid ambiguity?

The charger is not the same because the original Nexus 4 charger is 1.2A, but it is an Original LG product, remember that even if the charger was 1.8A, the mobile phone will only require the Amperes that it needs to charge the battery, in this case it will require less than 1.8A.
And yes, the battery is original, more and more people (in the same website) over me are confirming that the battery is an original product
By original, you mean genuine ? Both made by LG ? Those are not Chinese copies ?
i don't want to harass with my question, simply be sure

Yes, I meant genuine. I bought some of these two months ago and to make sure they are good I brought them to an LG partner that confirmed that to me.
Many thanks!
"digitizer only" is cheap china copy for sure, controller chip is different than original
What are delivery times like for AliExpress and how reliable are they? Also the power and volume pcb what is required? thanks

It depends on where you live. I live in Italy and it usually takes no longer than 3 weeks. Talking about reliability, you should trust only sellers that have a lot of positive feedbacks, the links that I posted are all related to trusted sellers from where I've already bought.
Hi
Where can i buy new motherboard for nexus 4?
thanks
So, what's about first screen in the topic? Is it same as genuine oem screen?
Avi, do you maybe want to sell your nexus or buy mine? Digitizer started do die on mine, 30% of screen is not responsive to touch and i cant find suitable replacment couse this e-bay screens obviously are not of same quality as originals. Id like to repair mine or sell it if i cant find affordable original replacment.
amelekhin - have you maybe found oem screen in meantime?
btw how bout this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Replace...624?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33a0db4898
Could this be original assembly?
To Ivan609
After couple of days of hard googling I have to admit there are no genuine screen assemblies in the Internet at all. I read some reviews from customers, looked at the photos in detail and I made a conclusion.
There are a lot of lies about replacement parts, sellers don't use their own photos, description doesn't match to reality, often screens don't work properly, and some places where you could buy assembly now say that it is out of stock.
So sad, but I have to refuse the idea of refreshing my N4.
I broken digitizer and my screen doesnt work correctly so i want to sell other working part. Someone want buy someting? Best price! Mainboard 16GB, cameras and other Ebay, allegro etc possible
thanks for the compilation

Propose me your price and tell me where do you live.
There is a scratch on the display which is barely noticable and affects nothing. The rear facing cam does not work, and the phone only works in speaker mode.
If I were to list this locally what kind of offers could I expect?
Check out kijiji and that will give you an idea.
I was lucky and got a nexus with a busted screen and sticky power button for 20. I put everything into a new lcd from Aliexpress. I also got a bricked nexus 5 with a perfect screen and all working internals, except the motherboard, for 50.
I would say you would be lucky to get 80.

Thanks for the reply. The display looks amazing and has a screen protector on it and the scratch is minor.
Gonna take it up to a cell shop tomorrow and see how much it will cost to fix vs how much I can get to sell.
The ear piece doesn't work? Is that why the phone can only be used in speakerphone mode?

I believe so. I took it apart and all the connections look fine.
The camera is cheap to replace if you order a replacement from eBay or Aliexpress. For the earpiece issue, there could be an issue with the motherboard connector or the earpiece itself.
Sounds like you are handy and these two things should be easy to remedy.
In its current state no more than $100. Most likely $50-70
I'm thinking about buying one myself. There's a seller on my local Craigslist that's selling white 32gig versions for $130.. brand new, never used, and still in the box.
Just to let you know what a new one can go for.
Sent from my Galaxy S5 using Tapatalk
130 is not bad at all but seems almost too low for those specs.
Gonna run it up today and let you know how I make out. I don't need he phone, so am just gonna sell it for whatever I can get. Well, I won't be low balled.
Good luck. Let us know what sort of offers you get.
