Hi,
I just bought the HTC Desire S and I was wondering whether it's possible to upgrade the HTC Sense to 4.0 without rooting the phone? The HTC Desire C is running HTC Sense 4.0 so I'm pretty sure the Desire S can manage it easily. So is there a way to upgrade to HTC Sense without changing ROMS and rooting and stuff?
Thanks
Upgrading the phone = changing ROM.
Official ICS has bugs that are impossible to fix without root.
No such thing. Sense is an overlay built on tp of Android. You cannot simply change Sense without changing ROMs.

Hello
I am seeing a lot of stock phones running HTC sense 3.5.
Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErkVC_0EC7w&feature=feedu
Have the sense 3.5 been released(and is it me being slow)? And if so, when can Europa get it?
Thanks
It's off a leaked RUU, and it's custom only. And that video is the new Sensation XL
Here's a (French) video of my ROM on the Sensation:

Cool thanks! I sub'd to your channel
That's not my channel, it's someone using my ROM
Damn, well. Thanks for the answer!
Is it possible to pull some camera features off rezound and port it to sensation?
I understand taht rezound is using sense 3.5 and sensation is 3.0
I am understand that it is possible if sensation is flashed to a 3.5 rom but not likely if sensation is using 3.0 rom right?
I am using ARHD 3.0 rom. I dont have plans to flash to a 3.5 ARHD so...
Has any one tried integrating Android 2.3.7 with Sense 3.5 for HTC Desire S ? I know CyanogenMod 7.1 comes with Android 2.3.7. It would be great to have Sense 3.5 with it.
No, can you not just check yourself? Look in the development section.
And tell me, what advantages do you see with 2.3.7 compared to 2.3.5?

sense 3.5 can be installed on the cyanogen because htc use proprietary code

So I been wanting to upgrade the wife's phone to a different ROM but I noticed that most of the ROMs I want to use has Sense 4.x in them where hers is 3.6. Is it still possible to use those ROMs? Would it upgrade HTC Sense, or will it just fubar the phone?
Odp: [Q] Upgrade HTC sense from 3.6 to 4.x
Check out Elegancia Rom...it still have a 3.6 version. Elegancia is the best Rom ever, so just read OP and flash it

use Android revolution hd (ARHD) it has sense 3.6 rom and faster than anyone..
but in my opinion you should try the sense 4 as its best and better than sense 3.6.
try this best sense 4 rom by VIPERS... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671547
:good:
Ha so I'm guessing that it's a yes that I can safely upgrade from 3.6 to 4. VIPERS was one of the roms I was looking at.
So go for it....and experience lots of tweaks ...

Sense version is not the same as android version. There's no additional issues in flashing a sense 4 ROM from 3.6.

officialy you can't
but unofficialy yes
you have to root first and flash a custom recovery
after that you must flash a custom rom which has sense 4 from recovery
done
see here for S-OFF and root
