I have a GS3 Verizon model and i cant seem to get any computer to recognize my phone when i plug it in through USB. I have installed the drivers and the ToolKit. What gives? I figured i might post on here to see if its just the phone or i am missing some steps needed to complete the process. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
CaribouLou
Did you enable usb debug in development options and unknown sources in security option?

I have a T-Mobile Nexus S that has a bootloop. Its my friends so I dont know what he did to it. I can get to the bootloader but when I connect it to my computer it won't recognize it. I thought of a driver problem but i can't get past the bootloop to enable usb debugging. It also won't show up in device manager. The phone's usb port works. It will still charge. I just need to get rid of the bootloop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If it has a custom recovery, boot into it and wipe data/factory reset.
If it does not, flash a custom recovery. These forums are chockful on guides how to root, flash stuff and fix bootloops.
I looked up how to install recoveries but when i plug in my nexus to my computer it is not recognized. At the bottom of the bootloader screen it says "USB Control Init" and then "USB Control Init End". I do have the proper drivers installed. Is there a fix for this?
Are you sure that you have the correct drivers installed, though?
It's known that people who use Windows have a lot of success with the PDAnet drivers (you can search around here for those), rather then with the standard USB drivers the Google SDK provides.

Did you try to run "fastboot devices" in command prompt while it's at fastboot mode and plugged into the PC? What do you see as the result? The guides on XDA should help, but you may also head over to nexusshacks_dot_com for more references.

Have you tried using a different USB cord? If it's not that then something might have gotten messed up on the port on the phone.
EDIT: Also, try using a different computer with a different USB cord.

so after combing through the forums and removing drivers and readding them, even tried using different version of kies and different version of the samsung drivers, and nothing.
when i plug the phone in with usb debugging on and unknown sources checked, my installation popup in windows says :
samsung mobile usb composite device - ready to use
usb mass storage device - ready to use
samsung mobile usb modem - ready to use
samsung lte usb device - ready to use
samsung lte usb card ussb device - ready to use
i should have samsung adb drivers listed there, but nothing. i can't get my phone to go into debugging mode, therefore i can't root. someone please help. do i have to do a factory reset? anyone having same issues as i am? i even tried on different computers and nothing. what am i doing wrong? when running zerg rush, it just hangs and limbos without doing anything. any help would be appreciated.

Those are the drivers I use, and I adb just fine
I wanted to root my friends ns4g but my of won't recognize it. He had a galaxy s 2 as well and it was the same issue.
I installed pdanet, Samsung drivers, different USB cords, nothing!
When I plug it in nothing happens, then about 5 mins later, USB not recognized. I manually tried to put the .inf file through the windows 7 wizard and still nothing.
Like I said my ns4g works perfectly fine, when I plug his in nothing works at all. I don't understand this at all. I have a 64bit system and made sure everything was for that. Can anyone help me out?

Can you mount usb in either recovery (if applicable) and android? Have you tried with usb debugging enabled? Also, does it show you no android device is connected in device manager?

in device manager it only shows unknown usb device with "!" symbol. Yes for debugging, and cant boot into recovery, there is no recovery as its not rooted.
help someone please! lol
There was something i read about the fast charge widget messing up the ability of the nexus to properly connect to the computer and a fix. Part of its design is to block USB file transfer when connected to a computer. There were several phones that couldn't connect after loading the widget.
Before i go and waste a bunch of time researching and digging for this. I would like to know if your friend has installed the fastcharge widget on his phone.

Its soo strange. I plug my phone all good, I plug his NS4G, no detection. It's strange.
Same thing happened when i was trying to root his tmobile gs2. No driver worked.
did you install tbe drivers by booting into bootloader while pluged in?

yeah, didnt work. Factory Reset the phone too.
Try a different USB port on PC and pull the battery for a min.

Try drivers from Samsung support page. It took me a bit. But usually the pdanet drivers work. You could try another pc that does not have the drivers for the nexus.

I have completely lost connection with my computer. It does not detect the phone at all during standard usb to phone connection nor does odin recognize a phone being hooked up. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

Try deleting the Samsung drivers on your computer and let Windows find them for you or switch usb ports or check out your Device manager and see if there are any problems in there... Assuming that you are running windows? Hope this helps...:good:
Options
1.try another computer
2. Dont use a usb hub
3.try a different usb port... stay a way from usb 3.0
4. It might be a bad usb cable
5. Uninstall the driver then reinstall them(install if youb dont have it)

Thanks for the advice guys. I tried a different cable, USB and deleting the drivers. It doesn't detect my phone at all after this.
I'm pretty sure it is an issue with my phone. I plugged my wife's s3 in and instant detection. I'm gonna call vzw and have a replacement sent.
Thanks again for the help.

Be sure debugging is off, or the drivers will not automatically download. Switch back on when you start using Odin
