Hey guys
I have a little problem on my desire s and I hope somebody on here can help me out, I'm sure the devs here probably could do something about it. These guys, if anyone in the world.
So the problem is I think my phone's charging port is broken or something because my phone always thinks it's in car mode. Which means auto rotate is always on even if I disable it from settings, and phone automatically goes to speaker phone whenever I make or receive a call and I have to manually make it go to normal right after making or accepting a call.
I understand that cleaning the port etc might work and looking for anything stuck in it. I've done all this and it did not seem to work sadly.
Now let's say I don't have any other way to fix this. I don't mind having to manually turning off speakerphone mode when I make a call but what really pisses me off is the autorotate.
Is there any way to permanently disable auto rotate altogether? I'm sure there must be a way. It's annoying because when I'm lying in bed I can't use my phone as it'll just auto-rotate when I lie to my side and look at the phone.I really need to find a fix for this as it's really bothering me.
Can someone please find a way to permanently disable autorotate altogether? I'm not a dev but I can pretty much do anything once I'm given a decent guide to do it. Please, anyone!? I will send you cookies.
Thanks for hearing me out.
The regular auto-rotate disable in phone settings doesn't work for you?

So i got my new phone and it's driving me nuts! Every time i get a phone call it picks up literally after 5 seconds even without touching it. I already checked the phone options and the automatic pickup is not checked. Is there another option that i'm missing?
go to start> settings> personal tab> phone >(scroll over to) more tab> and there u should see a automatic answering check box uncheck it.
i already did that. it's unchecked. it seems to only do it when the phone is locked and the screen is off.
hmm i am not really sure i remember seeing another place where it had auto answer option but idk where. Hopefully some one else can help?
i really hope someone can. i've tried sensor lock but it doesnt seem to work
Does this happen if the phone is just sitting there out of your pocket?
I know mine has answered a few phone calls on it's own because the screen turns on and unlocks when a call comes is, so it's possible for the answer button to be pressed while it's still in your pocket.
Try PocketShield and let me know if this works for you.
latest Gyrator has autoanswer if coming from standy on Portrait mode... do you have gyrator installed?
how do i turn this off i dont want calls answered unless i click on yes
Hi everyone!
Ok, so it's cool that when i put the phone upto my ear, the accelerometer automatically answers the call, and when I set it down it ends the call.. what's not cool is if I pick the phone up quickly, it tends to answer the phone without it being to my ear.. to people I don't want to talk to, instead of giving me a chance to b***h button them, lol.
Anyways, is there a way to turn this off or adjust the sensitivity?
Thanks!
are you sure it answers from you putting it up to your ear?
i tried it with mine and it didnt work...unless you aren't using the at&t stock rom
Yea this is a stock ATT rom, I picked up the phone a few days ago... I'm not touching the answer button to my face either... hmmm...
It's the application Gyrator 2... BLAH.. Thanks anyways guys!
Yes I had the same problem and just unloaded Gyrator2 it is was cool. it made my phone pick up on its own even when I am not even moving it. hopefully Gyrator2's creator can fix this problem...
Actually, if you goto Menu / Events / and delete the Pick up event in the Gyrator 2 app, it will disable it, and you can still use the nice auto rotate stuff!
Ooo I didn't know Gyrator could do that! That's nifty!
Is there any way to completely turn off the accelerometer?
stick ur phone into a microwave for a few minutes.. that should do it hah jkin DONT DO IT!
any suggestions? ive already turned vibrate off on the keyboard and that fixed alot of the issues with the phone.
I know it's not a standard option. Whether or not it can be achieved with root access, maybe someone else can answer.
seems to have been added with the 156 update.... if you find out please let us all know. maybe with the kernel out it can be addressed
Ive been wondering the same thing.
im amazed that this isnt an option already. that vibrate function slows the phone phone down bad!
I was going to get rid of my phone for this reason and the keypad choppiness
This would be so big if someone can come up with a way to disable this...
i dont think you can without modifying the dialer

Click to collapse
That doesn't turn of the vibrate for the initial time you open up the phone and dial a number.
just wondering if anyone has had any issues with the unity lock screen when answering phone calls? I have the inspire with the latest unity rom and for some reason when i get phone calls the lock screen doesnt show up? its as if i already answered it but its still ringing and i have to end the call and then call them back
any suggestions on what might cause/fix this would be greatly appreciated as this is very irritating!
Are you saying that you don't have the answer call button showing, just the end call button? If that is what you are referring to do you also have the application from the market called No Lock on your phone? I had a similar problem and I traced it back to an incompatibility with that application on the VU rom. It messed up the system. It sounds like you might be describing a similar situation. It could be that app or another similar app.
Well the whole lock screen doesn't appear when I'm getting a phone call, I can't answer or decline it, its as if I have answered the call but its still ringing, ill take a screenshot if i can next time it happens..
Also I have go launcher installed and discovered that sometimes when i clear that as the default homescreen it resolves this, could be a similar incompatibility maybe? That's the only thing I can think of but i don't know why that would cause it
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
oh and also i have an app called proximity screen off so i can turn the screen off with the proximity sensor, not sure if that has anything to do with it but figured its worth mentioning
It might be. I have found that certain apps that I used to use do not behave well with Sense 3.0 roms. The only way that I found out which ones was to do a fresh install and then install one at a time and see what happens after they have been installed for a while. It was a pain but I was able to figure out a few apps which screwed up the system.
Turns out to have been the proximity screen off app
The notifications on my s6 stopped working suddenly. I made sure to double check all the usual stuff. One thing though, the phone still vibrates when I do get a push notification. The phone is NOT on vibrate. Anyone out there have any clue on how to fix this? I know that probably everyone on here is 10x smarter than me, please help. I didn't change anything or setting.
I finally got it fixed.
