Hey,
I've recently had a friend of mine give me his phone to look at.
It's a Samsung I5801
I tried installing numerous ROM's onto this such as stock froyo and kyrillos 9.
Whenever i install through Odin i get to the stage where the data needs to be wiped through clockwork. Pretty straight forward, however when the phone is rebooted after this Odin does not detect the phone and will boot into recovery again.
Any ideas? I'm not much of a samsung kinda guy woking with htc all my life lol.
Solved.
Flashing a stock ROM, with bootloader in tact did the job. Had to say was sweating a bit as many were saying it could hard brick phone... Used European JPA.
Flash through ODIN i pray to god no one else has this problem
Wipe using Recovery
Just go in recovery mode and Wipe Cache and Dalvik-Cache.
Problem solved........
I have hard bricked my galaxy 3
I installed ClockworkMod recovery and selected to install ROM from SD card
my phone restarted and booted in samsung,s recovery mode
I selected wipe data and nothing happened for next in 2-3 mins,
So I removed battery and rebooted phone which again booted in samsung,s recovery mode for number of trials.
Then I renamed Rom Filr name to update.zip and moved it to root of SD
and rebooted in recovery and selected option Install update.zip which after some time started executing.
Phone rebooted and now it doesn't show anything else than samsung boot logo.
please help me out.
UPDATE:
Download mode and Upload mode are working but Boot menu is not working.

1 - Do you have recovery function working? Power phone with Vol Down Button and release when apears LG logo, if you have recovery working you should be fine.
2 - Download any Zipped ROM(There's alot and good here in the dev are) and put it on your external SD card.
In recovery install zip from the SD card.
Good luck.
thanks

Hi! It happened the same to me, I can't get further than the LG boot screen. No matter what combinations I try I always get stucked there.
I tried the VOL - + POWER combination (releasing both when LG logo appers) but it didn't work
All I did was:
1- Installed ROM Manager and ClockworkMod Recovery
2- Gave ClockworkMod Recover root permissions
3- Pressed RESTART from the Rom Manager app
4- PROBLEM: I got stucked at the boot screen
Please help me

Had the same problem, i flashed ported ics from xbsa with lg flashtool, but you can flash gb kdz file this works for sure too. Than you can start new, but next time when you flash recovery, flash it with bootloader its the best way to flash recovery.

You have just to flash back all the system with lg flash tool follow the guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942836
It will works i faced the same problem different times
Easy unbrick
I have tried clockworkmod to do a recovery/backup 3 times and ended up with a bricked phone. I have tried various methods in the guides here and none have been successful, as the difficult part is getting W7 and W8 to install omap drivers. I have successfully returned the phone to 2.3.5 every time by this method:
Download " LGMobile support tool " from LG. If you have LG PC suite it will download the software and install it.
Connect phone to PC with usb.
From one of the dropdown menus select recover phone. put in your phone model and imei number. The recovery tool downloads 345mb of data, reboots the phone and you have now got your bootloader and phone is reset to factory. I removed sim card and sd card before connecting.
Hi,
Today, after turning off my phone when i tried to turn it on again it just wouldnt and stayed stuck on the android logo.
Later on after removing battery and putting back on it went on fastboot mode.
I tried the command prompts solution but my phone isn't recognized for some reason.I also tried using LGMDP but altough the process went ok it didnt solve the problem and now even LGMDP doesn't recognize it anymore. So i can enter both emergency and recovery but can't get it to work.any idea ?
you said that it enters in recovery mode, so I understand that this phone was rooted and you have a custom recovery
copy this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18853517&postcount=5381 on sd card and flash it to see if it works
if not copy on sd card a custom rom and wipe everything, including mounts-> wipe sistem do it at least 2 times befor flashing new rom
I rooted my samsung galaxy S 4G and installed CWM recovery using Odin. I got a success message as well. However upon restart, the phone displays the samsung logo and then goes to a screen which like a typical windows defrag screen. While on that, it tells 'trying to partition, SD card full' in a lady's tone. The phone is stuck here and only option is to battery pull. Upon trying to boot into recovery also, the same thing happens. Any help is appreciated.
That's Linda trying to convert you to ext4. Reboot to recovery and turn off lag fix. It should boot. Then clear up some space on your sd card.
Find the thread from where you got the kernel, Or find desextons ext4 guide and study up some...
Try using adb reboot recovery from the command line while it's looping.
Try another sd card?
Thanks but still did not resolve

thanks for the response. From this response it looks like the main memory is full. It's not the actual physical sd card.
Either way, I tried to boot into recovery by holding volume up and down and then pressing and holding power button. But it doesn't go to recovery. After 2_3 times flashing of Samsung, it went back to the Linda screen
one click should be done?
I would put it back into download mode & try kies repair (if you haven't already done the update) or reflash a stock Rom. Then start over.
