The "image version", is a totally different thing than the "build number". Image version, will have more to do with "Flexrom" and some small things..
You need to state your Build Number.
MD

Its this version

AV043_A700_RV22RC03

AV043_A700_1.053.00

I think it's some kind of special version, it hasnt got updated so far and i failed flashing manually normal updates and cwm :/

1.053.00.. Isn't that a French ROM?

CWM? You can't get updates through OTA when you have CWM installed. You have to flash it manually. Follow this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1911437
If that doesn't work out for you, what errors encountered?

I think it isnt french ..
thats the problem, i cant install cwm via fastboot always getting "FAILED remote: (00120000)" in cmd ... i think i have the original bootloader but unlocked.. i dunno exactly because i rooted my A700 with an root script ..
as i have not found an normal update for this version, it wasnt possible to update via "update.zip" it patched a while, but after reboot nothing changed ..

error 7 - but with CWM recovery

Hi,
I have nexus s 9023 and trying to manually install JB, I get the annoying error 7 (apply_patch_check).
I have STOCK 4.0.4 but the bootloader is unlocked, i have root and a different kernel.
I read a lot of threads about this problem but I understood that having the CWM recovery should prevent the problem,
but unfortunatly I still get it.
Does anybody knows what should I do in order to fix this and get the JB update?
Thanks!

[A700] [HowTo] Update German Version to JB

Hi!
Just found a way to update to JB from the 1.053 version (Acer_AV043_A700_RV22RC03_EMEA_DE) on wich every other update failed for me. But runs with the other versions, too.
Unlock Bootloader
Install CWM (6.0.1.4)
Visit this german forum
get the file A700 JB Full ROM AV051_1.028.00_EMEA_DE RV09RC02.zip
flash it via CWM
DONE!
Just tested and it's working.
Credits go to those who deserve it.
I deleted CWM and a mate let it where it was and both A700 are running fine [*] (see below!)
... now waiting for root
----------------------------
[*] New info:
My friend, who kept CWM, unlocked the bootloader again after the update and now has a bootloop. So my advice is to kill CWM after the update.
I don't get into recovery too (with locked bootloader) it says "recovery image verified failed". But system starts normally afterwards.
------------------
More info:
I had CWM on the tab too, because i misunderstood the question:
When asked
Code:
ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix?
No
No
No
Yes - Disable recovery flash
say NO! to kill CWM.
------------------
Still more info to come:
(4.10.2012)
The bootloop was fixed by flashing a propriate recovery after beeing able to enter fastboot using the right key combination.
andiby left us a JB stock recovery: recovery.img and he build a CWM 6.0.1.4 with JB Kernel: recovery-a700-6014JB.img which runs fine for me.
Use the CWM with JB Kernel only to flash files and not to WIPE, FORMAT or RESTORE a backup, because there were issues with a different JB based CWM and I can't guarantee this one to work, because I have not tested it.
I'm on FR Firmware, can you tell me how should I proceed?
If you want to keep the FR firmware you will have to wait for an appropriate update file.
If you want to switch to Germen I think it should work with this method, because the zip file contains everything from bootloader to system files.
Do you think I can here: https://app.dumptruck.goldenfrog.com/p/GOKKb2PavJ download an install then install Acer_A700_AV043.RV07RC03_AV043.RV07RC06_EMEA_DE thereafter this here JB?
I would not recommend it, because your file is only 340 MB while the one from the thread above is nearly 400 MB.
I think you only need the file from my post, because there is everything in it fpr JB afaik, but I can give no guarantee, because I only used it to update my German version.
PS: Might it be posible to reduce the size of your signature a bit? Threads are much more difficult to read if a signature is almost always larger than a normal post. Thank you to give consideration to my request.

Yes but i can from FR Firmware to DE and install first update (5MB) and this is 1.053 => finally JB or i think wrong?
PS: Nope. These are my projects

Thank

I just don't get why you want to flash anything else before the "A700 JB Full ROM AV051_1.028.00_EMEA_DE RV09RC02.zip" because it is a FULL ROM and should be flashable over ICS 1.023, ICS 1.027, ICS 1.053 and ICS 1.055 to get JB 1.028.

But for me, recovery 6.0.1.4 is KO after the update. I need to use the one with "the brick bug". Not good at all
I will wait for Pawitp before using it...

Hi,
how can i relock the Bootloader from the Mate 7?
Is it possible? I want to sell it and it would be nice if the new owner can do OTAs.

Well, you can manually check it will pops up once huawei sends OTA ..
u can have CWM but u wont be able to upgrade.. you will need stock recovery for update OTA..
to be honest custom recovery is technically useless for us bcos no custom roms are avail. it just good for rooting.. nothing else..
System knows when phone has been rooted ... here below

Thanks for the information (and pic). Will flash stock recovery back only when/if there are updates.
CWR will be useful if we (like me) do something stupid and then restoring from backup.

Unable to update to 12.1

So today I saw that the 12.1 update is downloaded and asking me to install it. But, when I do try installing it the screen is stuck at the Cyanogen Recovery.
The usual options in recovery screen are displayed, why isn't the OS updating?
FYI - My OPO is rooted and also has TWRP recovery installed. I also tried disabling the Update Cyanogen Recovery option but the same option.
Any assistance would be great

You can't flash the OTA with TWRP recovery. You can either flash the stock recovery and then install the OTA, or you can download the full ROM zip and flash that with TWRP.

You don't need to be a techie to know that the updates must be taken in order. Go to Settings>About Phone, take screenshots of the info there and post here so I can see please.

OTA 1.56.401.81 536 mb is only a security update for europe not a Nougat update.

I hope you are right.
Press volume up and power to reveal stock recovery menu and you'll be able to see the exact error. There is probably one of your /system file giving a "unexpected content" error when compared to the updater-script expected sha-1 value. Or some file might be missing and giving the "no such file" error.
Btw you'll all know when an update will bring nougat just by looking at the version number. Nougat should start with 2 i.e. 2.xx.401.xx. That's what HTC did for all other phone, incrementing by 1 the first digit of the version number each time there is a major android version update.
Have experienced the same error.

Please save the OTA file before installing it! So somebody can provide the file as a download at androidfilehost. That would be great for manual installation and those who haven't got enough mobile data to download directly.
Thanks allot

Sorry i forgot to save the OTA but i found a soloution!
After i try everything like extrat recovery stock from last ota and relock bootloader i did not to fix it! but for the last time i flashed RUU.zip from sd card and then try to install OTA and this time everything works perfectly and update to 1.56.401.81
I could upload the OTA file if someone tolds me where to upload.
Does anyone know when we get an RUU file for 1.56.401.81?
I would like to install this update without going complete to stock just to update and then reinstall TWRP, Root and so on.
And does someone know if it would be possitble to recover the saved nandroid backup from 401.70 after updating with OTA to 401.81?
