Lecture Notes Export - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using Lecture Notes and want to print out some notes I've taken. I can't seem to find the option to export the notes to PDF. The help menu doesn't seem to lead me to a menu with the export option and I've tried (I think) every menu I can find. Does anyone know the answer? I'm using the paid version 1.16.11 released Oct. 8. Thank you!

I think you have to enable it in the settings menu first.

To be able to export to pdf, you need to install the pdf view from acadoid, just go into Google play and look for more apps by acadoid and you will see it there. It's a free add and will enable the pdf options within lecture notes.

Thanks for your reply. I have installed PDFView and rebooted but there is still no PDF export option. Any other suggestion?

I have checked the options in settings. There is still no menu option for PDF export. Thanks for your reply. Where in your menu do you find the export option?

Once you set up pdf import and export from settings and you ensure that you have a pdf viewer app to open pdf's with, you just need to have the notes open within lecture notes and then go to the 'Export to pdf' option which should show.
Screen shots show where in settings the options are to be found for setting up:

Thank you for sending those screen shots and they correspond exactly to what I have set up. However there is no export to pdf option in any menu I can find when I have the notebook open (or closed). Can you send a screenshot of a sample note page with the export menu open? Thank you.

Sure, the second screenshot shows what happens after selecting export to pdf i.e. the conversion process, once finished it opens the standard menu for you to open file with your preferred pdf viewer.

Okay. I don't have that menu. That's the issue. Maybe I have a bad install of the app. I've attached a screenshot of my screen and you can see that I have no drop down menu. Instead I have a plus sign which just adds a page. Thanks for your help. I guess I'll write the developer.

That is weird, have you tried reducing the number of items showing on the menu, you may have too many items showing which could have caused the menu button to disappear which could be an identified bug.
To test this, go to the main settings page and hide some our most of the options that you have chosen to display and see if the desired menu becomes visible.
By the way, you have nice handwriting!
Hope you can resolve issue soon.

Application shortcuts on today screen

Is there a simple way of creating application shortcuts to appear on your today screen without having to click on the windows start menu to find it?
I have searched the forum & found many similar questions but they all seem so complicated.
All I need to do is create a shortcut for an application that normally fires up when the phone is switched on but I need the ability to have quick access to the shortcut incase the app is ever accidently closed down.
This app should always be on as well as the data connection to which i also need a shortcut for.
So the COMM MANAGER icon as a shortcut for quick access would be needed to enable a quicker start to Data connection if offline for some reason
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Yes. Go to Start/Settings/Today/Items tab where you can select what you want. At least I can do it on Touch 3G (Jade).

Yes thanks but that's not what I mean, I have already tried but found that you have limited choice to what you can add. I need to add other items that are not included in th items tab.
Try this...
It's a simple shortcut creator for the today screen - sounds like just what you're after.
I use this and have had no problems with it.

Thanks for that, it does look like exactly what i need but for some reason it does not work on my O2 XDA Mantle and the Samsung Omnia, both using Windows mobile 6.1
I get the same problem on both phones where after instalation the app does not appear in start menu or in programme files.
I have selected "Easy today Launcher" in the items tab of the today screen but nothing appears to allow you to use the software
I'm on WM6.1 on a Sony Xperia and its fine.
Did you add any icons to it?
It doesn't appear in programme files or programmes - just in Today settings.
Go to Settings->Today->Items.
Make sure the box is ticked next to 'Easy Today Launcher'.
Select 'Easy Today Launcher' so thats its highlighted gry, then click options. Use add to add a new application to the bar, remove to remove ones you don't want, and up and down to chane the order. You can also select whether you want large or small items in the options screen.

Doh!!
That's it thanks
It now works
I found another app called SBSH iLauncher but it's not free
it allows shorcuts to documents which is something else I need, it doesn't look line Easy today Launcher can do this as it only creates shortcuts to applications.
thanks for your time.

Hi guys, i didn't find a solution.
I have disabled for mistake the TouchFlow3D form Today setting. I didn't have the setting link from start menu (from start menu i can only open programs and explore folder) and without touch flow i can't go to setting and reactivate the TF3D. How can i put setting link using explore folder?

Here is what you need to do:
Press the home key
Click the windows icon on the top left of the screen
The last 2 entries in the displayed list will say "Programs" and "Settings" - you need to click on "Settings"
You are now in the "Personal" tab in Settings - click on the "Today" icon
There are 2 tabs in this screen - "Appearance" and "Items" - you need "items"
A sorted list of the "Plugins" available in the today screen are listed. You need to tick the one called "TouchFLO 3D
Sorted!

T
hanks, but if I had setting button I did not make the thread....I don't have setting button so i can't go to "today"! help me...how can i enter in Setting across Explore folder???
I can't understand why your settings menu would disappear - is it possible the language on the phone is displaying "settings" as some other word?
Anyway, there are many other ways to go into "Settings" - here is just one option:
Install mortbuttons from http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=page&entry=mb_overview&action=view&menu=14
Use your file explorer to go to \windows\Start Menu\Programs\Mortbuttons
Run the file "Settings (MB).lnk"
Select the "Today" icon and then use the instructions in my above post to switch TouchFLO on.
Can I say that for a guy with just 3 posts, I think the tone of your posts is a little agressive considering you are asking people to give freely of their time to help you. I was going to ignore your response, but am giving you the benefit of the doubt because of possible language misinterpretations.
Maybe try to give a little with your future posts!
Thanks so much for help.... I want to tell to all guys sorry for my tone, i don't know if what i wrote was correct...Thanks again for all patience.

I'm just wondering if someone can elaborate on this a little bit and let us know how to fix this. I don't seem to have the productivity toolbar or haven't found where to select it. Specifically I can't do the handwriting recognition.
Thanks
The first icon enables or disables edit.
Next to this, in fact to the right of it, is a group of 4 icons.
The first is the drawing icon, next is the icon that you're looking for.
By double tapping it you can change between various features including formula, shape and text recognition.
Maybe this is common knowledge but I just discovered today that different templates have different functions embedded in them that apparently aren't available in other templates, e.g. long pressing on the contacts field in the meeting template allows you to bring up your contacts, you can also bring up a change date window in the date field etc.
In the diary you can change the weather icon types, in travel you can open maps app and import a clipping of an area and so on. It's very disappointing that you cannot seem to insert/use these fields in every note. The functions you want don't appear to be in a memo based note but are in others.

Agreed. This seems like quite an oversight on Samsung's part. You should be able to use all of the functionality regardless of the template. This took me a while to figure out until I watched their videos over again and picked up on this.

Same issue here. You have to pick a template to suit what you want to create. Its quite confusing. There also seems to be little documentation about what template has what tool.I can understand the floating note pad not having all tools but everything in the full snote app should have them. Maybe a tools toggle button to turn on and off what you want in the tool bar would make even more sense.
But i still enjoy the device

Hi. Pls let me know if you ever found out if the memo template has the productivity tools icon. I also can't find it.
productivity tools
To reach the handwriting to text, click on the productivity tools twice or hover over the button with your s pen and click once (looks like the shape button) a drop down menu will show up with the handwriting to text on the last options. Hopes this helps :fingers-crossed:
HI all
I have note 10.1 2014, and the snote does not have productivity tool icon in any template I have tried. Can someone help me?

How to create/modify snote templates?

The templates that come with snote have fields like date and time and other such objects not available within snote itself. The templates that are pre-packaged are nice but I would like to add others.
How do you create snote templates? Is there an app for this? Is there a how-to that details the extra features that you can put in a template?
+1
Also the possibility of using your own pictures as background would be great

For the Templates Background to be change, the images in the "template_custom_bg_q1" folder inside the apk need to be changed. It contains all the backgrounds for SNote.
For complete templates, you need to create SNB files and place them in folder assets\templates.
Not sure if this is in the Galaxy Note (phone) version of S-Notes but in the Note 10.1 (8013) there is an option to import your own image as a background file. Not sure about how to get the input fields to work but you can import a new image.
How to create a S-Note Template from a PDF file
When I imported pdf files, I just started Snotes, the app, not a new note, and under the menu picked import. Choose the pdf file but if you get the box that asks what to use to open it, ignore it, click on the screen with your pdf, make sure the file is selected and choose done up at the top. you'll magically go back to the snote screen with your pdf document showing. In order to save it, you'll have to at least make a mark and then can erase it so the save option will be available. When it's the blank you'd like to save to use each time, you can name it and save it as it is. Just be careful that whenever you open it to start a new blank, you need to rename the changed document so it doesn't overwrite your blank form. If it's helpful, when you're ready to save the 'template' open the menu and choose set as shortcut. That will give you the fresh template on your home screen. I put several running notes on my home screen that way and a blank 'template' - an Snote the way I like it set up. Just be careful not to overwrite it as I've accidently done a few times. Now I have extra blank copies.

In the video list screen,
Menu/Options 》View
Here you will find the following options
1. All Folders = Default Folder Listing
2. Folders = To Switch to Hierarchical View of Media Folders
3. Files = To list all videos instead of folders
4. Sort By = To sort the list by Title / Status / Playback Time / Location / Size / Date / Type
5. Fields = To select the more fields to be showed on the list
Hope it's clear enough.

Just read the instructions & follow
From the Video list screen,
1. Open menu or options (if you have hardware menu button press it, else you will see a three vertical dot on the top right corner)
2. From there select view, then Sort by
Note:
Sort option is available only on the latest nightly build 1.7.32.nightly.20141114 which can be downloaded from https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/translation/test-build
