Hi.
So I find the stock browser a lil unstable in EOS JB. Flash doesn't work in Dolphin Beta in JB so I did some searching and found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906341
This only applies to dolphin HD because in Dolphin Beta it seems they've updated all the file name schemes.
So to do the same on Dolphin Beta, go to:
/data/data/com.dolphin.browser.lab.en/shared_prefs/ - (probably requires root)
and delete the file that ends with "Browser_preferences.xml" It has a bit before that in the file name, but I can't remember it because I deleted it
It doesn't totally enable flash, just changes it to "on demand" in the settings so you have to click the little green down arrow to actually enable each flash applet.
Also I have no idea how this will effect other aspects of Dolphin Beta since I've literally just installed it and tested it. I'm not held responsible for any expensive paperweights you may create from your device by doing this - I suggest you backup the file before you delete it but I imagine worse case scenario is you have to reinstall dolphin.
Enjoy
Awsome, working great here
BTW the file name is " com.dolphin.browser.lab.en_preferences.xml "
Works well n4

What can I do to enable successful downloading from the browser? An example would be downloading attachments from my yahoo account or downloading files directly from xda_developers. Please help.
Thanks,
Jonathon
Edit: currently running TNT 2.1.1 w/ CW recovery
Edit: it always says download unsuccessful. I made sure My partion is 2mb/0 too.
I had the same problem with the stock browser, downloading works well with dolphinHD though... maybe switch to a different browser?
Your right. I downloaded a file download app and dolphin hd browser app. Using the dolphin browser, I have been able to download attachments and random file types that are linked on webpages. I may not have even needed the file download app.
I have always had that problem with stock browser.....I think everyone does .....the question needs to be, who CAN download attachments with stock browser.
hi everyone
i have a samsung galaxy note 10.1 Gt-8010, and i am having trouble installing media flash player on my tablet.
On the samsung apps they suggest something like going to adobe website and download the app, do i need to go through the external SD card and after that to transferet it to my tablet? if some one has a step by step manoeuvre how to do it that will be very appreciated.
thanks

Search google for archived versions of flash player or click link. http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html Scroll about half way down the page and look for then click and download the newest flash version for android 4.0 .It will be the top link in that section. Tap taskbar then tap settings then tap security then tap to check the box that will allow "install from unknown sources". When the file is downloaded click on it from the taskbar and allow install. When it is installed click the app from the all apps page and it will ask you what browser to open it in if you have multiple browsers installed. Open it in stock browser. No need to adjust settings just opening it associates it. Your done.
Dolphin browser and chrome browser DO NOT work with flash unless you edit xml prefs so do not use dolphin or chrome. Boat browser and stock browser work with flash natively. Personally I have found that boat works well stock works real well and dolphin browser when you have edited the xml works best of all.

Basically agree with description of where to get Flash Player and how to install. OTOH, having completed the install, Flash worked just fine with Dolphin (and stock browser) without editing anything. I thought Chrome just flat didn't support Flash.
Thanks to all of you

What flash content did you play with dolphin? Because as far as i know it does not support flash without edit. Go to settings and look at flash status. In current dolphin versions flash is disabled and will not turn on. Dolphin plays flash content on mine because I edited it to do so. Chrome does not support add ons on mobile platform.
edditing, how?
So how do You do the edditing.?
Tanks
via search .
Root Browser

is there a mod i can perform on my rooted atrix2 running ics 4.04 to allow for proper flash installation or is there a modified, recompiled version of flash player that will work?
The flash support from adobe is no more but if you install the app it kinda works(not completely though).Get a hold of the apk for flash player and install it manually.
Also you should have a stock browser to test the flash sites.Chrome doesn't support flash.
May the -Mass times Acceleration- be with you...
:/
I downloaded the APK from the adobe archives in a few different versions and functionality was still minimal or nil.

What browser you using???
May the -Mass times Acceleration- be with you...
Try installing flash_player_11.1.102.59.apk + Boat Browser
[I'm using the stock browser and Opera. I'm equally concerned about apps utilizing flash.
Phoenix > I tried using boat browser since it is compatible with avast security, however I didn't really like the interface and it was loading pages slowly for me, while the stock browser is compatible w/ avast & extremely fast. i love opera, but avast doesn't scan scripts, etc. within it.

Does Hulu tell you your platform isn't supported when viewing in browser?
This MAY help fix that problem.
#1-it's not my work, check this thread for more info
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596936
All credit goes to @blunttedsmurf, so thank him there if this helps you.
The modified flash apk from that thread recently stopped working FOR ME. So I threw together a zip to get it working again.
What's needed
*rooted device
*kernel with init.d support(edit-or use SManager)
*busybox with cp applet
*flash player app compatible with your device(I'm on 4.0.3ics, but this method should work with 4.3 and possibly others)
*knowledge of how to install zip file in recovery
Why
The flash player app from thread listed above wasn't playing Hulu videos on Dolphin or UC Browser(although it was still working on android browser). I haven't tried other browsers that use native flash. Input is welcome.
What'd you do
I just downloaded the flash player that Dolphin(or UC- same flash) prompts to download when flash won't play- this flash works FOR ME on other sites, but not Hulu.
So I just replaced libflashplayer.so with the modified one, and FOR ME, flash works on Hulu website globally.
BUT, for me, doesn't survive reboot, that's why I've included an init.d script to take care of that. If you find the script won't run correctly(flash working), then run as su on boot with SManager. It's named zzzz(runs last) in /etc/init.d
Here it is- https://db.tt/E7hRYoZ1
'Flash' at your own risk

I would like to hear if this works on ......versions of android, and which device
I'm sorry I can't provide support because I'm not a developer
I use the hacked adobe flash player for viewing videos in dolphins ..mostly found in news websites. I need to reinstall it each time I happen upon a video. Apk is always in system /apps but I a
ways need to reinstall it; running hyperdrive rom, any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any help!

Did you select auto play or tap to play in the plugin settings? If one doesn't work, give the other a try. The setting is a bit fickle.
Also, did you just place the APK in the folder? Have you tried simply installing the official flasplayer apk as an actual app?
(though I've swapped to Dolphin, the last few recent Firefox updates have made it painfully slow.)

I did, of course, install the APK. It would have been pointless not to. I did not tweak the plugin settings though. Websites I visit do not recognize that Flash is installed and will not even offer the Flash content. The problem with Dolphin is that many websites do not render correctly. Oracle support, for example does not render or work right with Dolphin. Neither do other elaborate support sites such as the HP server support system. That means that I must keep FF on hand for those.
Cheers,
Russ
Can someone please tell me how to install Adobe flash ... to make such content work in either dolphin or firefox, please?
I'm new to all this, and I dont wanna mess up my tablet.
Thanks!

1) Please make sure that Dolphin Jetpack is enabled in the Settings.
2) Download and install <a>this Flash Player(http://goo.gl/VMivpL) on the right top on this link(http://dolphin.com/lab/en). If you have installed the other Flash Player before, please uninstall it first.
3) Make sure that the flash setting in Dolphin Browser (Click Menu > Settings > Web Content > Flash Player) is on. Follow steps mentioned above and find out whether it works. I get it from their website.
