Hello there,
I have recently installed Go Keyboard version 1.7.0 and i have suddenly noticed that the arrow keys on software keyboard pad don't work.
Does anybody else have the same problem with Go keyboard arrow keys?
Does anybody know anything on this matter?
Any help would be very much appreciated since i am in frustration:crying: after that problem,
Thank you in advance,

yes i did install the Pad plugin and i also noticed that this problem occurs specifically when i use the web browser, any web browser.
Although i can move with the cursors on the http://www.web address bar when i go to the google web page and i enter a phrase for search
but i want to go left to change one word by using the pad arrows i suddenly see that they don't work. What's weird is that on every other app everything works fine, for example the asus note application evrything works like a charm. Well i don't have a clue what's going on.

SOLVED
I haven't found a solution to what caused this problem but after restoring to Stock root and then installing the Go keyboard app,
out of the blue the problem solved, although i had the same settings and the pad plugin as before.
Anyway if someone else is having or encounters the same problem as i did, follow these steps.
Restore to stock root (In fact go to the Factory default as the tablet came from the start, no other apps installed except the ones that came along with the tablet) and then install Go keyboard and all the other programs that you used to have before.

1. You didn't mention that you were on a custom ROM in your opening post. Several custom ROMs suffer from this problem, so it is in all probability not GO's fault.
2. It might be useful to know on which custom ROM you were, just in case it wasn't one of the ROMs we already knew had problems.

I'M also have a probably, the up and down arrows work but the left and right do not.

I lost all of my Input methods!

I don't know what the deal is, I had them this morning, and even after a restore, I don't have any of my Input methods anymore. They all show but when I select one it doesn't apply. I should have:
Block Recognizer
Compact QWERTY
Full QWERTY
Keyboard (it defaults to this every time)
Letter Recognizer
Phone Keyboard
Transcriber
I have recently installed the new Landscape Full Manila update but I had these options even after that.
Anyone know how I can reinstall these options?! I hate that default keyboard!
It seems like they are all there still, like I can see options for them all, etc but it just wont change, also its like the small arrow by the keyboard isn't activated and I cant click it, I can change the default keyboard from small to large, but that's it!
ERRRR, what pisses me off is I backup ALL THE TIME, before every app install even, and when I do a restore, it still doesn't work, WTF good are backups then! Or does Spite Backup just suck and I should be using another?
This worrying about everything from one min to the next with this device is the only bad thing about it.
The only suggestion I have for you is to do a hard reset and restore using the most recent back up file until you find a back up file that works for you. I have used sprite back up many times before but this has never happened to me.
Are you using the stock Fuze ROM?
Yeah I'm using the stock ROM but I bypassed the bloatware and installed TF3D that was just released in the software thread, the full one with landscape mode.
I tried several backups and none worked, strange, not sure what caused this but I did find a work-around, its a small app called SIPChange, it was a shot in the dark but it worked for me, for anyone else with this issue, try it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=271008
This actually even fixed the little arrow issue I have that wasn't letting me select the Input method on the fly, I did notice it loads at every reset tho, I don't care as long as it works!
Thanks guys, I hope this thread will help anyone else with the issue.

[Q] Keyboard Issue

Every time I try to type anything, whatever app I'm using immediately crashes. This happens no matter what keyboard I use (I've tried Samsung Keyboard, ICS Keyboard, and Hacker's Keyboard). Any idea what's going on?
Are you rooted? Are you using a custom rom? Have you tried rebooting? You might want to try a hard reset.
I would say about the same: are you using a custom firmware and then, did you wipe properly?
I had some random and inexplicable issues on my 7", with a custom rom, I had to wipe cache and data a second time, with no tangible reason. It was just totally messed up.
I've noticed the same issue on GT-P5100 Android v4.0.3

Hi Maca, all
My first post on xda, apologies for too much reading.
Maca> I wonder firstly has your issue been fixed, or has this issue re-occurred for you?
I've noticed a similar issue on GT-P5100 Android v4.0.3, (os received via the standard channel), device not rooted.
I've experienced two such occurrences. Each time I have performed a factory data reset, being the only way that I could get things working again. I've been using the Hacker's keyboard as my default keyboard during both of these occurrences. After the first occurrence, the issue re-occured after a week.
My desc of the issue: When a text field is clicked on to enter text input, the application will force close. The text input cursor does not show up, nor does the keyboard. The app goes unresponsive momentarily then you see the force close message. This not only happens in apps, but also occurs for example in the Android Settings -> Security -> Owner information (text field), and anywhere that you would like to type. The device becomes useless at this point.
After the issue occurs, I've tried disabling the Hacker's Keyboard, and then using the stock keyboards, restarted the tablet, but these don't rectify the issue.
I've just reinstalled my apps after factory data reset, including the "hackers keyboard" in the hope that I can gather more information leading up to the issue, and perhaps fault find post event, should I be able to repeat this.
Any input highly appreciated.
Kind Regards,

I had same issue with my 3110 on the 4.0.3 ROM. Device was not rooted, no new app installed. In my case I resolve it by factory reset.

[Q] 4.0 Keypad not responding/loading

Hello all,
I apologize in advance if this problem was solved before, I could not find it.
I have a Galaxy Note (GT-N7000) with Android 4.0.3. For a few weeks now I've been having problems with the onscreen keypad. Everything is working normal when suddenly the keypad stops responding. I can still touch other things on the screen and scroll through menus as normal, it's just the keypad that stops working. When I reboot the device, the problem is usually solved. As of yesterday, I have (occassionaly) had the same problem but the keypad doesnt even load. The page is sized down to accomodate the pad but there's just a black rectangle. To solve this, I needed to reboot twice.
I'm pretty sure this has to be software-related seeing as the rest of the apps/screen keeps working.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Anyone had this same problem? It's happening more frequent now, about twice a day.
Same problem here
I have the same problem and its driving me nuts! If i drag down the notification bar and click the "Select Input Method" button, nothing happens.
Tried going through settings menu and changing to stock/swype and still cannot enter anything. Swype even shows the word i entered in the suggestions bar but nothing appears in the text entry box!
Im so glad it's not just me. Do you use a custom keyboard? I use Swiftkey 3 but as i said, i tried switching to another keyboard and still got nothing. I have even had the problem persist after reboots sometimes!!
Is there another ROM I can flash? I have stayed stock until now, but between this and the bluetooth drop out bug and speakerphone issues, I'm about ready to give up on Samsung's Official ROM :/
When the problems started I didn't have a custom keyboard but now I'm using SwiftKey. Since that change I haven't had as much problems. Only thing that happens now sometimes is when you type for example tree and every keystroke after that then copies ree so you get treereereereereereeree.
There are certainly other ROMs but I'm not really into that so you should search the forum. I'm still (relucantly) using the official ROM.

Pinch-to-Zoom Change Keyboard Type Not Working?

When I first got this tablet I could pinch-to-zoom and select split keyboard or floating keyboard. Now it's not working. The multi-touch gesture seems to do nothing. The installed version of the keyboard is Samsung Keyboard 1.0. It says in the options that pinch-to-zoom on the keyboard zone would bring up the style selection menu (as it should). It just refuses to recognize my gesture. This is on a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.
Anyone else experience this? Any ideas if removing an app or something may have done this? Can't figure it out for the life of me.
Did you try to clear the keyboards data ?
Open apps in setting and clear data and cash of keyboard if not try to find keyboard apk and install if not flash other rom

I tried all the suggestions you guys mentioned and still nothing. I have a feeling the keyboard apk is unable to save data because I am still having this same problem from my previous thread. My internal sdcard refuses to let me delete corrupted files from it again and I think maybe the keyboards settings are saved there. I also cannot save a screenshot or user defined words with my keyboard.

SAME ****
Same problem here, just got new TAB 2
Android 4.0.3 Samsung Keyboard 1.0 pinch to zoom on keyboard not working to choose keyboard style. Tried to clean cahce and so on.. and nothing. Any ideas?
Thank you.
Any one having same problem? Or had in the past?
Wassup With That!?
Go this Nifty Tablet on Sunday and after playing around with Google Maps this morning I noticed the pinch function was not working, I even tried it on a few pictures and in a few web browsers, no luck. i noticed this while playing Video games but i brushed it off, I was playing "Dead Trigger" & "Modern Combat 3" in game the camera goes haywire or would not respond to my touch at all and would continue to not work correctly unless i do a reboot and jump right back in as soon as the tab is back up and running. I have to do this a few times before it all goes back to normal.
I'm wondering if this is a hardware defect and i should return it for a new unit or should i just wait it off untill a new software release hopefully fixes this issue.
or i might just return it and upgrade to a NOTE
Android 4.1.1 - Model GT-P5113
I got this multi touch problem just after i updated the tablet to jb.
Guess its software error or something.
Sometimes works (after reboot) and then it doesnt work anymore.

[Q] Will a custom ROM solve my issue?

Hello,
Got an Asus Memo pad HD 7, rooted. Yesterday made a hard reset and after reboot I noticed two issues: the home button isn't responding (it does make the click sound, but does not what is supposed to do: return). The other buttons are working fine. The other thing is I can't seem to copy or click links in apps or on a site. Sometimes the link does seem to open but then the browser will have a blank screen. I wonder if flashing a rom like superdragon's (this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503668) can solve my problem? I already tried hard resetting the tablet a couple of times-> no result

Here are some diagnostic aids for you...
1) Does the home button (assuming you are referring to the small house logo that is part of the OS) not work in both portrait & landscape orientation?
2) If it fails only in one then you may have a hardware problem related to the screen (if so see 3 & 4). If it fails in both, then you almost certainly have a software problem (for which, see 3)
3) You say you have "tried to fully reset your tablet". If that doesn't mean a full Factory Reset from settings, then that is what I suggest you do next - we have a step by step guide on the process, linked from the Master Help Guide (see link in my signature, below).
4) If you need this step, then you will have done both a full Factory Reset from settings of the OS & also determined that the home button doesn't work in either portrait or landscape orientation. In this case you have done all you can do IMO & you should contact with your retailer or Asus for a warranty repair claim.

Thank you for your reply. Doing a full reset several times doesn't solve the isssue, even after several resets. It is the home button as you described. Does not work in landscape or portrait mode. Because I have rooted my tablet it is of no use to ask ASUS for help I think. If it would be a software issue then it should be solved with a new ROM, right? Or am I missing an important point?

i'm not sure about issue. In case of software issue maybe maybe ROM could be a solution but according to quote i my last reply. it could be hardware issue too.
So, i'll not suggest to flash ROM/Firmware before making sure about the real problem/fault. Well, regarding 'Root" which voids your device warranty.I don't know what method you applied to 'Root' your device but.... In case you used 'Framaroot' then you can 'UnRoot' to get your warranty back : p. So, it depends on what method you used and i think it is possible to UnRoot. Just look for information on UnRooting with what app/software you used.
here some links:
[RECOVERY] [ROMs] ASUS Memo Pad HD 7 (me173x) [MT8125] [MULTILANG]
ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7
Above links contain Custom ROMs.
So, again i'll not suggest flashing ROM/Firmware as a first priority. Better try to figure out fault first and you know else.... hope, you got the idea.
