hello,
i am having problems with my phone as it comes with very low internal memory i am so desperate installing apps.
i have done with commands from adb i have linked almost all apps with Link2sd (i still have problems with that app) and cleaning all the cache and data moved apps to sd partition but still i am running out of space withing that few apps.
i was seeking for solution and i did read somewhere about some scripts like A2SD and D2EXT...
i need to be clear about those what are the scripts? what does they do? they can move all data (APP+data) to SD card??
please post reply to this !!
s2e
create ext partition and use s2e.

Every script comes with its own advantage and disadvantage...
The best out there is the ungaze script (thats what i keep hearing)...
But ppl use int2ext d2ext s2e etc.
Here are 3 links ull find some of these scripts in:

lol bro im not that into virtuals thanks and stuff...id be happy to help you without them too.
yes its a messy process...u have to wipe data and lose all ur apps... tell me which script u tried yet?
ungaze is the best...then comes d2sd and int2ext...i tried both but none worked for me...i dunno what went wrong..
so i went back to link2sd...its not the best but good enuf for me...
many people s2e too...its an app like link2sd and easy to use...
unlike the scripts
int2ext or int2ext+ are the only stable solutions you can consider.
No configuration, no apk's, NO SYMLINKS. Explorer hates symlinks.

Hey all,
I know I just put up my tutorial on how to do this but hopefully this will make things easier for everyone. I'd still suggest doing a nandroid backup first just to make sure but I tested this on my phone so it should work. Just run the app and if this is the first time moving your apps to your sd card(and you want to keep the ones you have) leave the checkbox checked. Otherwise uncheck it. Then just press the buttons that correspond to what you want to do. Enjoy
In order to use this you MUST:
1: Have an apps-to-sd ROM
2: Have your sd card partitioned correctly with FAT32 first and ext2 second.
3: Have busybox already installed to /system/xbin
NOTE: I'll try to help as much as I can but I can't take responsibility for anything this does to your phone. I'm pretty sure nothing bad will happen and nothing irreparable can happen but gotta say these things just to be sure anytime I'm messing with root permissions.
ANOTHER NOTE: I'll put this up in the market for $1. It'll remain free here but people can donate to me that way.
YET ANOTHER NOTE: I've managed to get a new method working that's a lot more stable and flexible. I will keep this thread here but won't be maintaining it.
EDIT: Moving data is too unstable, I've removed the option. It doesn't force close anymore when you don't have the setup right, it just gives an error and wont let you do anything, so that's better.
Tried it this morning and worked great. You might add a pop up at the end of moving apps to restart the device. When less experienced people use it, they won't know to do that I'm afraid.
the app sends me into abootloop at the htc screen

OH SHOOT!!! I fixed this problem on the market one but forgot to put it back up on here. Umm... for now no1 should use the one posted here, until I can get home and post the updated one. OR if you still want to fix this and don't much just a bit of fiddling in the recovery terminal, after moving apps to sd, restart in recovery mode and do this:
Code:
mount data
ln -s /system/sd/app /data/app
For anyone who cares about such things, the problem is that it deletes the /data/app folder and then makes a symlink, which sounds ok, except that every super user command has to be run through the whitelist app... which no longer exists. So it's not able to set up the link and all hell breaks loose.
i did use the 1 from here
it says ln: /data/app: file exists
if i already had apps2sd, tried to upgrade my phone from 5.0 to 5.01G, so I wiped...then data.img wouldn't flash over...if i do this, will my apps show up again?

ya it's the one from here that's broken, sorry. If you haven't already flashed back and everything(still have the boot loop) then you can use the code I posted and it should fix it. I'll post the updated version tonight when I get back home.

Yes, just uncheck the checkbox. But you might want to read the note that I just posted, there's a known problem with it that has a fix but requires going into the recovery terminal. I'll post the updated version of this app that doesn't have that bug tonight.

you had the "stale NFS handle" right? I'm not really sure what's going on but something in your phone's file system sounds like it went screwy. Maybe someone like JF or LucidREM could help? Your problem goes way over my head and I'm guessing the same is true of a lot of people on here unfortunately.

jf rom
Ok question I know it says apps to sd rom is needed does this mean only haykuro roms? I have a jfrc33 1.42 and I could do apps to sd using this rom (planning on doing it tonight my 8gig class 6 card arrived) so my question is can I just use this app or do I need to do all the steps manually

It should work on any apps to sd ROM. This includes LucidREM's modified JF ROMs. If you're gonna be manually changing it into an apps to sd, then I would think it would work but can't promise it. I wasn't able to figure that out when I tried so I'm not 100% sure that they work the same but I would imagine they would. Again, though, the one posted here has that known bug which will be fixed after I get home from work.
Short answer(s):
Haykuro's ROM: definitely works
LucidREM ROM: Don't have it to test it but almost assuredly works
Self-modified: probably works?
Sounds good I wasn't doing it till later tonight anyways (stuck at work also) also is it still a good idea to keep ext2 parititon less then 2gb like lucid reported on his tutorial

Guys plz tell me that what kind of cache is dalvik cache...???
when to clean it....does it clears much internal space....can i clear it when i am having low phone space...!!!
coz once i have cleared it when i was having low memory nd had problems wid all other apps and all stops working one after another and had to flash my phone...??
you help will be appreciated...!!
Please use smaller regular typeface in your posts. If you want to highlight a particular word or phrase fine, but when the whole post is in large, italicized, colorful words, it's difficult to read. Thanks for your cooperation.
A simple search is enough
But these are caches of apps which runs in virtual machine. If you clear them app will not work till next reboot, sometimes after uninstalling apps dalvik cache are not deleted which will keep some of your free space, here you can use thw clean up dalvik cache feature of the titanium backup, it will search for the unneeded dalvik cache and will delete it for you

dalvik cache is a program cache area for the program dalvik. Dalvik is a java based virtual machine that is the bases for running your programs (the ones that have the .apk extension). In order to make access times faster (because there's not JIT (just in time) compiler installed by default), the dalvik-cache is the result of dalvik doing a optimization of the running program. Sounds confusing. It's similar to the prefetch files in Windows.
So I decided to try mount2sd and flashed it on latest aokp based Xperia Rom!! I ran the commands that were given in the tutorial after disabling safe mode...
After restoring my titanium backup I try to install any app from play store it gives an error of low memory... Please help me our in this..
Also I wanted to know what exactly the commands mean? Why do we include disable in front of those commands..for example "m2sd apps disable" .. What does this mean?? this disable the moving of apps?? And what does rmount mean..?
Thanx for your time!
Well rmount is reverse mounting command, hence we use disable instead of enable. Reverse mounting has the benefits of lesser memory errors..
And I'm not sure if mount2sd is working in Xperia AOKP. Try ungaze script as mentioned in the thread. Few users also mentioned int2ext script working..
Hit thanks if I helped.

Well, here is the story. All of the 'Galaxy S' (aka, Galaxy S 1) devices, except a few (sgs4g, sk4g, I think there is another), come with an internal eMMC (embedded multimediacard). This is usually where they put the data partition, for instance on the i9000, vibrant, captivate, etc.
For galaxys4g, we've been getting around this issue for a while with apps2sd. I really don't install that many apps anyways, so I never really run into this problem, but for those who have, that's what they've used. Most roms provide apps2sd (or similar functionality). I think with titanium backup, you can move apps to the sdcard.

Actually, here is a nice comparison (fascinate vs. galaxy s 4g vs. vibrant).

One more question if I may...
I flashed Valhallah Final on my phone.. I have A Voodoo sound app on my phone as well.. but when I clicked on it, it said that I didn't have the right kernel for it. Is it just a matter of flashing the right kernel to get the features of Voodoo sound on my phone? Or will that screw up the functionality of the rom that I already flashed?

I'd suggest flashing with cwm. Flashing the kernel won't change the rom. Except for blastoff which will change the wifi.conf.
With titanium, you can integrate those Rom updates into the Rom. That can free up a bunch too.

It deletes the old file that the update replaces. You won't have the uninstall updates in settings anymore. I (assume) that when a system Rom gets an update, the old apk gets scrunched and lingers. This option frees up that space.

Updates to system apps get put into data/app integrating updates overwrites the original app in system/app so it frees up internal memory and takes up system memory. Also integrating dalvik into rom frees up like 50-60mb of internal memory.
