As we all know, android has multiple web browsers like: firefox, dolphin, and skyfire, to name a few. Since I've been an android user, I recall sticking to the stock browser but since I've gotten my Infuse, I've noticed sluggish performance, especially the "checkerboard" with the stock android browser.
As a result, I've been using firefox, opera mobile, dolphin, and skyfire to see which of these proves to be a worthy replacement.
I spent one full day with each browser testing speed, download capability, flash support (if applicable) and overall performance.
I must say, in my opinion, that I've found Opera Mobile to be my choice. it's much faster than any of the other browsers and allows downloading of any file. (I've experienced download errors with the stock browser especially with file-hosting sites)
Any thoughts? What browser have you been using?

For me Dolphine premium. And has good plug-in that can be access by sliding from the right edge if the screen to the right, like screenshot, brightness control, font size adjusters and more, and ability to change tab by gesture and more

The stock browser on the Infuse has bugs...I even exchanged my Infuse and it still happens..it causes my phone to lock up and do a soft reboot...I have no choice but to try another browser and Dolphin works great...

I have also concluded that opera runs best on my infuse. Fast and smooth as butter scrolling with no tiling. I really hope there will be an update to fix the stock browser though. I prefer the stock browser's integration with the OS.

I see the stock android browser worthless
Dolphin almost works as fast and accurate as my cognition capt....kind of let down over this..brightside is i have 2 more weeks...minus the 35$ restocking fee..thinking i might take a holiday.my maj. Complaint is how the stock browser refuses to resize sites...forums.. So i dont have to scroll side to side..captivate i double click and its fast and big. Yet its 4inch...a holiday sounds good but i dont want a bbq and bad batt. Life in my pocket either...its a fun year for mini tracking devices..woooohoooooo

I've also tested over several browsers and finally got to Opera Mobile. Here're my several cents:
* stock browser is kinda laggy and lacks of an ad block solution (except for host-file based or proxy server based, both are deficient); it also lacks a sync solution;
* Both Opera Mobile and Firefox Mobile support sync and ad block; Firefox is more feature rich because of its extension support but takes too much resources; Opera Mobile, on the other hand, runs much smoother and takes less RAM (in fact, much less!);
* Opera Mobile supports Flash plugin, which is a killer feature over Firefox.
Finally I chose Opera Mobile. It's adblock function needs me to build up my own url filter file (while in contrast Firefox has adblock plus that takes care of everything). But hey, I don't really care if it cannot block 100% of the ads, and all other advantages are much more important!
Actually stock browser does resize pages when doubled clicked it has to be turned on in the settings menu when in browser the auto fit webpages needs to be checked.
Thanks

Firefox seems to take way too long to load... and it is huge. Opera seems to have the perfect blend of features and speed.

Miren Browser is really nice. I think the devs have stopped updating it though.
with the exception of gingerbread the android browser can be sluggish on the hummingbird. i use opera for any phone that isnt spec'd well, like the cheap android phones on sprint my friends keep getting. and if i have issues on the sgs and infuse on a particular webpage.
Boat Browser Mini works quite fast.
I'm surprised it's not mentioned.

Just throwing this out there to see which broswers everyone is using. I personally like the stock one. I used firefox for a little bit but since it was only still in beta it wasn't the greatest. Ie wouldn't format correctly with zoom and radio buttons and txt boxes wouldn't function properly. I haven't given dolphin a try or any other browser that might be out there. Let's see what your opinions are.........

I use FireFox just because of the FF sync with my laptop and desktop, but it sucks that I have to switch to the default to watch flash content.

+1 Miren!
10Char
depending on device, I use many:
Low end phone (huawei ascend on cm7) maxathon browser, renders pages astronomically faster than any other browser
Mid-end phone (htc hd2 -hyperdroid cm7) stock, kills miren/skyfire/maxathon/dolphin on my phone, easily. The flash integration is amazing in android's stock browser is more than enough to get the job done, completely content with my 6 second loading time for massive pages.
Tablets (transformer-stock 3.1 rom) I have no clue, the stock browser feels like the ipad in responsiveness and rendering (great thing) but occasionally "freaks out" and acts glitchy, have yet to experiment

Miren
.......
What is it about Miren that everyone likes? I installed it hoping to configure it differently than the stock browser for use with certain websites. I quickly found out it is just an overlay of the stock browser and the settings where the same for both. I did like the tabbed feature it added. Can someone tell me if Dolphin is the same, an overlay that uses the stock browser?

Try Dolphin HD. I have Miren and Dolphin but prefer Dolphin. Then again I don't have a problem with the stock one...
the stock one is fine by me....
Although I don't use....I believe Dolphin HD is prob. the best alternative
Firefox (which I am avid Firefox user) is HORRIBLE....well not horrible but horribly slow ATM.....I will wait til' they develop it more
I use stock........nothing seems worth it to trade for (although havn't tried Miren, so I will)
I kept going back to the stock one as well...

Then you haven't tried Miren. Seriously, I won't ever use stock again.
Instant forward and back, use volume keys or swipe direction to do so. That sold it for me.

Do me a favor and from your stock browser on your ICS phone, try to access this web site:
http://goo.gl/JvqyR
You can't can ya? But my gingerbread stock browser can.
All this web site is, is a login page from my favorite late night talk radio program Coast To Coast AM. From your computer, and from any level of Android your able to access this page except ICS and JB.
Right now, my phone is running gingerbread and I'm able to select the link and view the login page. If i upgraded my phone to ICS, i wouldn't be able to view it!
I don't believe the carriers make any difference.
Now, there are only a few browsers that can access the link.
Firefox - yes
Dolphin HD - no
Chrome - no
Oracle - yes
Stock - no
When Samsung released ICS for my Galaxy S 2, i couldn't access this website from my favorite browsers anymore. It's like the upgrade brake my phone from the start.
Why? Can your stock ICS browser can? if so, what phone are you on, and rom?

Some of these browsers access broken core services that belong with ICS (Dolphin HD), and some other browsers somehow bypass these ICS service because they have their own (example: Firefox).
My instinct is leaning towards a kernel issue.. but Im a total noob, so i don't know.

Can't access it either using Chrome on Jelly Bean. Doubt it's the OS's fault since different browsers behave differently. The upgrade probably changed the stock browser (for worse).

I believe it has something to do with a core service built into ICS and possibly JB that the 'stock' browser and some others depend on. In my opinion, Firefox is a 'walled garden' meaning it doesn't depend an any service within the phone, so it works. Yet, Google Chrome browser depends on some 'lib' file somewhere that doesn't understand secure long URLs.

I really wanted to like Chrome just because I use Chrome as my desktop browser and liked the idea of it all synching up perfectly.
That never really worked out. Chrome for Android is pretty slow, and very buggy, for me.
Switched to Dolphin and never looked back. Just a fantastic browser.
Hate the ICS sense browser, but I freaking love the jb sense browser

I personally like Opera. Never been a big fan of stock browsers on Android or Apple devices. I dislike Chrome. Thought it stunk on computers but on the phone its dreadful. I was hoping Firefox would be useful as it's my favorite computer browser but again, fails on a phone.
Opera is very fast and simple. These are my opinions though.

Same here. LastPass integration was the critical feature for me. Otherwise I would be using ICS+. Chrome for Android is a big disappointment.

Currently using dolphin browsing over chrome :silly:
I have searched the forums but have not found an answer to the quick controls on the jb browser.
You know how you can set the quick controls trigger area on the quick ICS browser, I was wondering if there is a way to do the same on the jb browser. I have an otter box case and it makes it almost impossible to trigger quick controls without adjusting the trigger area.

aosp tabbed browser ftw. I just wish it would stop showing xda threads in faded grey and save my login info.
I use Chrome when I want to access my favorites or browser tabs on another device, otherwise I always use Dolphin.
It’s really depressing to me, because I love Chrome on the desktop. I don’t understand how a flagship product can be so bad
Dolphin for me.
Easiest to get to bookmarks with side swipe.
Every once in a while I go and try dolphin again, but I find the side swiping annoying, because I always end up activating it without meaning to

As Samsung continues its apparent march towards closed source am I the only one surprised at how bad Galaxy S4 browser is? It is slow, unresponsive at times, has no real fullscreen option and quick settings have been removed. It also has no ability to sync with Google accounts. Am i the only seeing this?
It has its perks on Some things then there's other stuff like you mentioned that doesn't make it good. I usually use chrome but I'm just trying to find another alternative that has flash options besides xscope and firefox. I really love dolphin browser but can't figure out how to run the flash option for it.

It sucks badly. The browser from the note2 works on it but the bookmarks tab crashes every now and Then.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2
It seemed OK at first but the more I use it the more awful it seems.
It can't reflow text so you have either zoom out and read tiny text (the text size option helps a bit but not as good as reflow) or zoom in then scroll sideways back and forth. The f-ing SGS1 had this!
The window manager (ie. tab selector) thing takes forever to come up. Does anyone else have it refuse to come up at all? (sixftsix apparently) That happens to me about once a week.
GS4 Stock browser is chrome based... which is not updated sloppy old chrome plus some airview/multiwindow support.

I agree the browser does suck. I recently started using Lightning Browser and it is really fast compared to the stock one. I even got flash enabled although it isn't the best.
I downloaded Lightning Browser here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=acr.browser.barebones
I downloaded flash from here (uploaded by ashik992):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1936895&d=1367734159
You do have to access the settings menu and enable flash after you install it.
I've only been using it about two days but I'm considering purchasing the paid version.
If you guys give it a shot let me know what you think.
