Can't download apps from Google Play after ICS update - Motorola Atrix 2

Hello,
I have updated my Atrix 2 from Android 2.3.6 to 4.0.4 (stock).
Now I can't download apps from Google Play. I have tried to delete cache and data of the store app.
What can I do to solve this problem?

Try removing and re-adding your Google account?
If that doesn't work, and since you already tried the cache and data, you may need to do a factory reset.

Clear your data from the Play Store and from Googles Services Framework apks and reboot your phone. That should take care of it.

Google play problem
I have also experienced the same i am having Motorola atrix 2 asia retail version i have also noticed the same issue sometimes the google play works properly and sometimes eventhough background data is enabled it shows a popup saying disable the background data, and google play doesnt work..
Please help me to rescue this issue.

I tried to download some apps through the 3G internet and I was able to download.
The problem is the WiFi i think.
Only factory reset will fix this issue?

[Q] Apps not downloading from Google Play

Is anyone else having issues getting apps to download? It started for me after flashing back to stock so I could check out the toggles mod. Since I froze updater.apk in order to stop the OTA update notification, I assumed that was the cause. Now, I'm running 77.8.10 with the stock kernel and I still have the problem. Apps look like they are going to update or download but just hang there and I eventually get error 495. The only thing that works for me is wiping the cache/dalvik cache--within a few days, the problem comes back.
I've had problems with the play store too, but I thought it was more of a connection issue. It'd start to go through the process of dl'ing but would hang as soon as I click accept. It adds the app to the installed list and show that its queued, but would never download. I'd have to cycle my wifi to get it to go again.
That's the only problem I've had with the play store.

Play Store. Server error. Stock.

Got a S3 off ebay for a friend and it works fine except for the Play Store. The play store just gives a server error. I have done a factory reset and it still gives a error.
What could it be? I have cleared cache and data and everything else.

Since the apk is installed as a system app instead of user a factory reset won't do anything. Try going into settings>apps and clearing the data for the play store.

Done that already. Thinking of just putting a ROM on it.

play store not connecting

This is driving me nuts! Every time I install a rom on my verizon gs3, the play store will not connect. It doesn't matter what rom I use. I have tried Hyperdrive, Synergy, Cleanrom, Goodness and I don't what others. It is all the same. Play store will not connect after install. Google now will also tell me that there is no connection as well. I currently run Beans 15 and play store works perfectly. But I like to try new roms and I can't because of this issue.Things I have tried:
When I go to install any rom i first go in to mounts in CWM and format cache, data, sdcard and system, then i wipe cache again from main page, then wipe dalvik and then hit factory reset. Probably overkill but I like to make sure nothing is left from previous installs.
After install I start by clearing cache and dalvik and fix permissions and factory reset
Cleared the host files in the /etc and /system/etc
Backed up google play services and the play store from my beans install, installed them on new rom with no luck
My time and date are correct
My location is correct
Happens no matter the kernel (stock, KT747, zeus)
I have removed accounts rebooted and readded
I have reset app setting in app manager
I have cleared cache and data and force stopped in everything that starts with google
In my last install of cleanrom 7, google now actually worked, but the play store would not and hangouts threw an error saying it couldn't find google.
My 3g/4g works perfectly fine as well as my wifi. I can browse the net, get my email in gmail, my contacts are there and my calendar items show up. Have I missed something somewhere? Any help is greatly appreciated.
I am also runing the VRBMF1 firmware but was happening on MB1 as well. I would also note that everything else in all those roms runs perfectly.

Just says not connected or no connection with a retry button. Internet works fine though. Gets on with 3g/4g and wifi.

Have you tried just doing a basic wipe and install without all the other excessive stuff you keep doing? Optionally try clearing cache/data on Google Play and Google Frameworks. You shouldn't need to do all that stuff with permissions and copying files over.

. No no to basic wipe. Yes to cache and data stuff in google apps. And no i shouldn't have to copy stuff but it is what i have done to troubleshoot this issue
Are you restoring anything via TiB or doing anything outside of flashing, rebooting and then entering your google account info?

No. Restoring nothing. Don't even use TiB. I reinstall the long way. But yes flash, boot and follow setup.
Tried again today with the newest beanstalk rom and MOAR rom and got the same results. everything but the play store and google now works perfectly. All i did before installing both of these was to factory data reset, wipe cache and dalvik. No other fancy formatting. At a loss for what to try next.
My s3 did the as,me thing and I had to load 4.0 ICS from Odin and there flash from there to keep my play store connectivity

Well so far so good. I flashed back VRBLK3 because that is what I had already downloaded and still didn't work. Even after all updates to VRBMF1. So I downloaded and Odin'd back to VRALG1 and the play store has worked all the way through latest updated. So that did it for anyone having the same issue. Odin back to VRALG1 and start over. Haven't installed a rom yet but am confident it will work. Will report back after I get one installed.
Edit: Well after flashing Hyperdrive 14 I am back in the no connection phase with the play store. Man this sucks.
That's really strange bro, as long as I Odin a factory rom, I can flash whatever and keep my connectivity. I'm currently on cleanrom 7. But as soon as I factory reset it won't connect

I think you may have hit it right there. I installed hyperdrive once and there was residual from stock. My weather widget wouldn't work correctly for one. So I did a factory reset and then reinstalled. Hyperdrive installed right and there was no residual from stock but play stopped working. So do you Odin back to stock every time you want to install a new ROM? Or how do you install to get rid of the previous ROM without losing connectivity?

GPlay doesn't download.

Hey guys, I have this problem for a while now, Google Play says "Download Started" but it doesn't. I tried to follow every possible fix Bit still same problem. Please I need help!
The games were FIFA 14 and other EA and Gameloft's games.

I've had a similar problem with stock 4.1.2 on my skyrocket (via t-mobile) and the solution I found was to shut the phone down (power down completely, not just "restart"), and then turn the phone back on. It would then connect to my wifi network and download an update from google play then lapse into the same problem...but at least this way it actually downloads and installs (even if only one program per power cycle).
Any better solutions?
Edit: Just installed CM 10.2 nightly, and I have not yet ran into this problem, I am able to install multiple apps without re-starting so far.

When I power-cycled, after it booted up, without touching my phone, it would connect to my wifi and try to resume/complete any downloads from g-play. It would only successfully complete the first one, and it would still have the status/icon "downloading", but it also would complete it and install correctly too.
See if you start something in google play to download, let it try for a minute or so, then turn off your phone (shut down). Once it's shut down completely, wait 5-10 seconds, then power it back on again, leave it be for a few minutes, and see if it finished the download. I have mobile data almost always shut off, so that might be part of it as well.
Remove your gmail account from the phone, reboot and add it back.
To do this:
Go to settings, accounts, click on (your [email protected]) right where it says sync on/off click on your email and hit the menu tab on the phone and hit remove account.
This has worked for me in the past.
