Is anyone else having issues getting apps to download? It started for me after flashing back to stock so I could check out the toggles mod. Since I froze updater.apk in order to stop the OTA update notification, I assumed that was the cause. Now, I'm running 77.8.10 with the stock kernel and I still have the problem. Apps look like they are going to update or download but just hang there and I eventually get error 495. The only thing that works for me is wiping the cache/dalvik cache--within a few days, the problem comes back.
I've had problems with the play store too, but I thought it was more of a connection issue. It'd start to go through the process of dl'ing but would hang as soon as I click accept. It adds the app to the installed list and show that its queued, but would never download. I'd have to cycle my wifi to get it to go again.
That's the only problem I've had with the play store.

Thanks, I actually may have fixed it by accident. I used odin and again and used the PIT this time and then went into 3e and went to the option to delete user data and when the phone rebooted i went thru the setup guide and skipped everything. I then went to the market and it had me go thru the google sign up guide and i signed into my account and then i went into the manage applications and saw that the market version was 2.3.6 so Im not sure if what i did worked or if it was just me.
Just FYI it auto updates to the latest version. Had the same thing happen to a new Infuse I picked up today for my wife.
Hers hadn't updated after 10 minutes so did the following (posted on a Google help forum I can't link to because I'm noob):
Delete the market's cache and data and force close it, reboot your phone. After reboot start the market wait a minute go back to home and then restart the market.
This "worked" for me, but waiting a little longer or rebooting may have been what actually fixed it.

I did delete the cache and data and i waited like an hour and it didn't update. Whatever i did before worked.
Thanks for your help.
try downloading an app, it should then say updates available in the notification bar, it may automatically update or you can go into "my apps" and see the updates. if that doesnt work i guess i can pull the apk and post it
I got it figured out, but before it did update some apps.
It eventually changes, mine stayed liek that for 3 days i think then just changed to the new one...
i kind of like the old one tho.
Exactly what the subject says. I tried clearing all data in the market app but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I'm running stock 2.2.2 with an OC kernel. Any help would be appreciated.

What are the symptoms that you are experiencing when you try to download an app
Sent From My Stock G2x
It says "Your item will be downloaded," after which the download bar appears. It disappears after a second as if the download had never even begun.

Try deleting dalvik cache, fix permissions. Turn off the phone for few minutes, turn it back on.
Did this started to happen after flashing kernel?
Make sure you are in a good reception area as well.

I think it did happen after kernel flashing. Sounds like a good idea. I'll try that and if it doesn't work I'll try reflashing Google apparently. I've noticed authentication errors. Barring that it's back to stock. Thanks for the advice

Same thing happened to me.. I fixed permission from Rom manager then reboot.
Now its working fine.
Just tried that myself. It seems to be working again

This same exact thing happened to me after changing kernels. I went back to stock and it was still happening. Four hours later everything was fine again. Weird.
Not only do you need to clear market data.. But make sure you clear 'download manager' data too in applications
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
The problem started up again and continued after flashing back to stock. Someone else said that in this thread. I'll try the download manager wipe suggestion too. Thanks for all the input. I'm on a wifi network with a strong signal so it's a stable connection... Aaaaaand... starting download... still starting download... still still starting... At least it's doing something. I'll check back in later. Thanks again!
If I wipe dalvik cache, cache, fix permissions, and reboot after letting the phone sit for 10 minutes I can download four or five apparently after which the problem returns. I've also noticed that Google talk can't seem to log in.

I'm having the same issue. It downloads successfully, boots into recovery, the progress bar gets maybe a third of the way, and then the icon changes to one that makes me think its an error, then it aborts and reboots, there's no message or anything. I used to be rooted, but not anymore (used superSU unroot)

Yes. Though I unfroze before unrooting. I just disabled some system apps (with the builtin thing) I'll try reenabling everything
Re-enabled all the bloatware, no luck.

Installed Google Wallet with the wallet installer. I can't seem to get the app to reset as it hangs at 96% and stays there. I tried closing the app and opening it but it attempts to reset as I open it and it gets stuck at 96%. Anyway to fix this?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I have the same problem. However I get to 97% and it just hangs. Anyone else experience this?
I have. Usually it stops 3 under the target number. I then kill the wallet process and clear it data under applications. Never had a problem when flashing after doing those steps

I just tried this. Now Wallet can't seem to set up my device. It just force closes after trying to set up for a while.
Weird. Have you restarted since resetting it? Are you trying to re activate it on the same rom or have you flashed a new one?

I had same problem with it hanging at 97%. I ended up restoring my build.prop edits back to Galaxy Nexus, rebooted, and then reset google wallet. It then reset fully. See if it works for you.

Same rom. I'm trying to reset it completely without hanging. :/
You never get it to reset "completely" the progress bar will never get to 100 percent. This has been an issue since wallet was first made available to verizon through the hack. By resetting in wallet and clearing the data it actually does reset. If you want to make sure it has completed just go to the wallet website and check that your phone is no longer authorized for your cards

Yup! Running the installer works! I just have to reset my Wallet now. Hopefully it wont hang again. :/
Alright! It worked!
To anyone else that runs into this problem.
1) Close Google Wallet through the multitask window.
2) Clear data
3) Run Google Wallet installer again
4) Your device should be setup
5) Reset app!

Clarification question before I switch to try a different ROM.
Would step 6 then be restore build prop and step 7 reflash new rom? Also, do you backup wallet in Tibu and run the steps above or do you not even bother and just uninstall and rerun the wallet installer after loading a new rom?
Use the installer or the zip flashed in recovery. Never backup wallet in TB

Yes. Although I believe it's optional you can restore your build prop. Then flash your home.

I've had a similar problem with stock 4.1.2 on my skyrocket (via t-mobile) and the solution I found was to shut the phone down (power down completely, not just "restart"), and then turn the phone back on. It would then connect to my wifi network and download an update from google play then lapse into the same problem...but at least this way it actually downloads and installs (even if only one program per power cycle).
Any better solutions?
Edit: Just installed CM 10.2 nightly, and I have not yet ran into this problem, I am able to install multiple apps without re-starting so far.

When I power-cycled, after it booted up, without touching my phone, it would connect to my wifi and try to resume/complete any downloads from g-play. It would only successfully complete the first one, and it would still have the status/icon "downloading", but it also would complete it and install correctly too.
See if you start something in google play to download, let it try for a minute or so, then turn off your phone (shut down). Once it's shut down completely, wait 5-10 seconds, then power it back on again, leave it be for a few minutes, and see if it finished the download. I have mobile data almost always shut off, so that might be part of it as well.
Remove your gmail account from the phone, reboot and add it back.
To do this:
Go to settings, accounts, click on (your [email protected]) right where it says sync on/off click on your email and hit the menu tab on the phone and hit remove account.
This has worked for me in the past.
