I am using SwiftKey 3 with CM10 and since some releases when I use the built in web browser SwiftKey does not show any word prediction anymore. It works perfectly in other apps like SMS or XDA or whatever but not in the browser. Does anybody know how to solve this?

I don't think it's supposed to predict in boxes like the browser address...you're often typing strange words that can't be predicted just like in a password box. If it did predict, it would be annoying.

What elsmurfo said. URLs would be a pain to type, and Google wants predict what you type into googles searchbar (Google Instant ie search as you type). But try "Find on page" and Swiftkey 3 is back in business so its not all missing from Browser. Does it behave differently on HTC stock ROM btw? Cant remember
I am not talking about search boxes. I am using iNotes, the web interface of Lotus Notes, to write emails. It runs in the browser and word prediction does not work, which is bad. It did before, I am sure. I just don't know when it stopped working and why.

Anyone know how to make it point at m.facebook instead of www .facebook?
no one else sees the when selecting, for example, a notification?
I have the same problem, although I want it to open on touch.facebook.com not m.facebook.com personally. I don't think it is a Froyo issue more of a newest version of the FB problem. I had this problem on my Incredible with 2.1
It looks like it was on Facebook's side, it is now redirecting properly & I havent started tweaking things for it yet.
Seems I spoke too soon, its intermittently showing www over the m site

Those settings are where?

Yeah... this annoys me greatly. Stupid Facebook.
Has anyone figured out how to stop the browser from automaticly switching to modile sitez?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
hopefully someone will correct me on this, but it is my understanding that whether or not you get a mobile site is not dependent on your browser, but rather some of the information that is given to the website when you contact it for content.
Here's to dreaming about hulu on my captivate while I work out... *swooon*
Just use skyfire it has the ability to make sites think that your using a desktop browser

I know but I like the standard browser and on 2.1 you could change it. Thx

On every other android phone you can enter about:debug in the browser & it will give you more settings like ua string where you have the option to choose between android, iphone & desktop but on the captivate this bricks the browser & you have to do a factory data reset to get the browser working agin or use an alternative from the market to go online agin! (SO DON'T TRY IT!!!) Someone should really try & fix this! I actually like the stock browser other than this. Now im using dolphin because of this but its not as fast as stock.

Is there not a option on the websites that say full website? usually at the bottom
Or
Use dolphin browser it has settings which make it go mobile desktop and something else
In the stock sense browser, should work in the android browser too, type about:debug, go into settings and change uastring to desktop
i use Dolphin HD
there you can set the user agent to "Desktop" and the normal version of all websites is used
Does dolphin support flash?

I wrote about:debug in android default browser ported from 2.3 but nothing happened. Maybe the URL should be something else?

If I remember correctly (haven't used the stock browser in a while) nothing should happen. When you write that in the adress field you get more options in settings. So check out settings to see if you have stuff like "User Agent" there.
Menu>More>Settings>User Agent>Desktop. That is for the AOSP browser.

I cant find this user agent or get the about to work

Stupid question but you hit enter after about:debug right?
Where can I get the ported browser?
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
I use Dolphin Browser HD & mini, they could change user agent very easily. You just need to go to settings to find them. : )

They say they only support flash on Froyo 2.2 or above. Mine is 2.2, flashes works great.
1. Go to browser
2. Type about:debug (I don't remember if you need to press enter, just try it if you want)
3. Nothing will happen visually and nothing really is supposed to happen.
4. Now, press menu
5. Select more
6. Scroll down to Advanced Settings
7. Select UA string
8. Select Desktop
if you can't see UA string, i don't know what else you can do
I have a Liquid A1 with Froyo 2.2 (LCR rom).
Unfortunately, I cannot view the full version of spome sites, even switching to "desktop user agent".
I tryed in Dolphin HD, in the default browser after the "debug" option, in Opera Mobile, Miren, etc...
For example, no way to go to the full view of this site:
http://www.primocanalesport.it/
(it's a local sport page: I would try the live streaming of their video news when I'm on the go)
I *always* finish to:
http://www.primocanalesport.it/mobile/
even manually writing the URL, with the user agent set on desktop mode.
Someone could help me??
When I go in xda forum (this place) in Google Chrome ( I don't know whether this problem happens in other browsers), I experience a problem of the page refreshing every second. (This happens on every computer I have)
This is very annoying since I cannot do anything on a page that is constantly refreshing?
Is this happening to you guys too?
Not me

Same for me with chrome. Firefox is OK.
Fix here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2406268&p=44633997
I have that problem on one firefox but not the other.
I just wonder what changes could be between the boxes.
I have the same issue. 2 diff tablets, both in Chrome
Please forgive me if this has already been posted, or if it's regarded as common knowledge. I couldn't find mention of this anywhere in the S4 forums, so I figured that it might not be widely known.
I was reading a post about a hidden debug menu in the stock browser for a different device, so I thought I would try it in the S4, and it works!
Open the browser.
In the url bar, type chrome://debug
It should say "This web page is not available". Ignore that message, but don't close the tab.
Then press menu and tap settings. You will see a new menu item: Debug.
In there, you will see a hidden menu of settings including, most interestingly, an option 'UAString' which lets you change the user agent ID which tells websites what browser you are using. In other words, you can set your browser to tell websites that you're using a desktop, or an iPhone, or a tablet, etc. Other browsers, like Dolphin or Boat Browser, have this option. You can use it to avoid getting mobile versions of websites by default, or to access certain features on websites only available to iPhone users.
Once again, I apologise if this is old news. Let me know if it is
Hope it's helpful.

Thanks OP for the heads up, I'm not a browser superuser either
Does this just change that one tab for that one session, or does it have to be reset to normal afterwards?

Galaxy Avant (think s4~5 lite) same thing. On my older froyo stock browser about:debug worked right away, this new semi chrome stock browser needs to have the tab open to work. Took a while to find this post. Thanks
